Traptrix Fusion and Fusion Monsters [Written]

Traptrix Fusion (Normal Spell)

You can target one "Hole" Normal Trap Card from your field or hand, Special Summon it on your side of the field as a Monster (Level 4 ATK 0/DEF 0) but destroy it during the End Phase. Immediately after this effect resolves, Fusion Summon 1 "Traptrix" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using materials from your hand or the field as materials. When this card is in the GY, you can banish one set Trap on the field, return this card to your hand. Trap cards cannot be activated in response to this card's activation.

 

Traptrix Sarra (Level 7 ATK 0/DEF 2800)

Plant/Fusion/Effect

 

1 "Traptrix" Monster + 1 "Hole" monster

 

Must be Special Summoned by "Traptrix Fusion" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card is unaffected by Trap effects. Once per turn (Quick Effect), banish a Normal Trap Card from the Deck; this card gains the effect of the "Hole" Monster used as Fusion Material to Fusion Summon this card, meeting its activation requirements.

 

Traptrix Helia (Level 8 ATK 2500/DEF 300)

Plant/Fusion/Effect

 

2+ "Traptrix" Monsters

 

Must be Special Summoned by "Traptrix Fusion" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card is unaffected by Trap effects. You can banish "Hole" Normal Trap Cards from the GY and when you do, increase this card's ATK by 500 for every card banished by this effect. During your End Phase, you can activate one of the following effects:

 

・Target banished "Hole" Normal Trap Cards equal to the amount of Fusion Materials used to Fusion Summon this card, send the targeted cards to the GY.

・Target banished "Hole" Normal Trap cards equal to the amount of Fusion Materials used to Fusion Summon this card, send the targeted cards to the Deck.

 

The monster names are based on other species of carnivorous plants that are not existing in current Traptrix archetype. I also kept their base ATK/DEF be a total of 2800 like the others. I also had a suggestion from a friend that Traptrix Fusion should just directly fuse a monster and the Trap instead of going through the trouble of summoning the Trap as a monster then doing the Fusion Summon but it was weird to me that traps can fuse as is, unless it was already a thing.

I like that it summons the "Hole" Trap I just wish it summoned it as an effect monster with its original effect. (because you can also just fuse 2 Traptrix monsters)

Love the fusions and love Traptrix. Tributing spell/traps and having them as XYZ material (sometimes just attached from the top of the deck!) exist so I see no reason why "Hole" Trap can't be a material on a fusion monster.

This is also a good option. Although, does it go to GY or stay after it uses that effect? Also, I made the summoned "Hole" a level 4, so you can Xyz with it, in case you want to fuse for Helia instead. This is especially useful for Time Thief Redoer imo.

Edit: Traptrix Fusion's trap summoning effect is optional btw so you can choose not to. That was a last minute change before I posted that because Helia was also a last minute idea, which is why it says "You can"

Go to the GY.

Also, I made the summoned "Hole" a level 4, so you can Xyz with it, in case you want to fuse for Helia instead. This is especially useful for Time Thief Redoer imo.

Imagine Rafflesia, but not limited to xyz materials. In exchange, you can only use one kind of "Hole" (the one used as Fusion material), and instead of sending a specific "Hole" normal trap to the GY, you banish any Hole you have.
