Keranendy Posted February 4, 2022 Report Share Posted February 4, 2022 This is an old unfinished project of mine, so it might be outdated (due to the release of "Allvain the Essence of Vanity" in 2021) but now I have gotten interested in making custom cards again, so I decided to continue it. I don't post all the archetype's cards because they were kinda stuffed with texts and errors. About the naming: The Archetype's name is now just "Essence". When I first name these card, their name was something like "Interdimensional Supreme Powerful etc. Essence Dragon", so I have to the temporary change to (st) a.k.a. something, but I still want to keep the "Essence" part, but I haven't come up with anything definite yet because I'm bad at naming things. If you guys have other suggestions, please feel free to tell it to me ;) The Play-Style: A Combo deck contains Fairy and Dragon monsters, which use various Summoning Methods, to reduce the ordinary loop-the-board-and-cause-it-good-stereotype. Because so, this archetype will have many different ways to set up your combo greatly depending on your drawing/starting hand (and will make you calculate many timings, too (cause I like complex things so yeah that it)) - The Fairy monsters mostly have the effect to Special Summon themself when sent from the field or hand to GY, with the cost of banishing the other ones. - The Dragon monsters have various kinds of disruptions, and also can combine with other monsters, to have better effects. Others are used to extend your combo. - The Spell/Trap Cards usually have GY effects, can recover your resources, and can be used as the Dragon's cost to negate stuff. The Cards: "Essence" Fairy Monsters: Primal Essence 3* LIGHT Fairy ATK 1000 / DEF 1000 (Just a searchable normal monster) Fire Essence 3* FIRE Fairy / Effect ATK 800 / DEF 500 You can only use each effects of "Fire Essence" once per turn. ● When this card is Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Essence" Spell Card from the Deck to your hand, except Normal Spell Card. ● If this card in your hand or field is sent to the GY: You can banish another "Essence" monster in your GY; Special Summon this card, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Dragon and Ritual Monsters. (The Fairy monsters will serve as the materials to summon the Dragon ones. I think I predicted that Ritual Pendulum would be released lol) Plant Essence 2* WATER Fairy / Effect ATK 600 / DEF 700 You can only use each effect of "Plant Essence" once per turn. ● When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Essence" Normal Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. ● If this card in your hand or field is sent to the GY: You can banish another "Essence" monster in your GY; Special Summon this card, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Dragon and Fusion Monsters. (This one's the other searcher. I think that is enough Fairy monster that actually interact with your Deck.) (As you can see, the monsters have a similarity: the effect to return themselves once used as material/cost for other monsters, but with a Extra Deck restrictions.) Air Essence 2* WIND Fairy / Tuner / Effect ATK 700 / DEF 600 You can only use each effect of "Air Essence" once per turn. ● You can target 1 of your banished "Essence" monsters; return it into the GY. ● If this card in your hand or field is sent to the GY: You can banish another "Essence" monster in your GY; Special Summon this card, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Dragon and Synchro Monsters. (Tuner.) Water Essence 2* WATER Fairy / Pendulum ATK 500 / DEF 800 Pendulum Scales: 7 Pendulum Effect: You can Special Summon an "Essence" Fairy monster from your hand, but negate its effects. You can only use this effect of "Water Essence" once per turn. Monster Effect: (Normal Pendulum monster. Idk what else to say.) Light Essence 3* LIGHT Fairy / Effect ATK 900 / DEF 600 You can only use each effect of "Light Essence" once per turn. ● If this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 "Essence" Fairy monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but its effects are negated. ● If this card in your hand or field is sent to the GY: You can banish another "Essence" monster in your GY; Special Summon this card, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Dragon and Link Monsters. (They're Fairy-Type monsters because I think Fairy is the most suitable type for a new Archetype at that time. Then its actually happened lol) Icy Water Essence 2* WATER Fairy / Pendulum ATK 500 / DEF 800 Pendulum Scales: 7 Pendulum Effect: You can discard 1 "Essence" card; add 1 "Essence" Dragon monster from the Deck. You can only use this effect of "Icy Water Essence" once per turn. Monster Effect: You can only use each effect of "Icy Water Essence" once per turn ● When this card is Normal Summoned: You can place this card and an "Essence" Pendulum Monster from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone. ● If this card in your hand or field is sent to the GY or Extra Deck face-up: You can banish another "Essence" monster in your GY or Extra Deck; Special Summon this card, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Dragon and Pendulum Monsters. (Normal Summon for free scales) Shadow Essence 3* DARK Fairy / Effect ATK 1000 / DEF 600 You can only use each effect of "Shadow Essence" once per turn. ● You can reveal 1 "Essence" Fairy monster in your hand; Special Summon it to your field, but its effects are negated. ● If this card in your hand or field is sent to the GY: You can banish another "Essence" monster in your GY; Special Summon this card, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Dragon and Xyz Monsters. (In case you don't have the field or Pendulum Scales) tba Quote "Essence" Spell/Trap Cards: Accessence Ritual Spell/Ritual This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Essence" Dragon Ritual Monster from your hand or Deck. Tribute monsters from your field, including a "Fire Essence" monster and monsters with the name that the Ritual Monster can be treated (if any), whoose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. If you control a non-Ritual "Essence" monster: You can add this card and an "Essence" Fairy monster from the GY to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Accessence Ritual" once per turn. Accessence Fusion Spell Fusion Summon 1 "Essence" Dragon Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your field as Fusion Materials. If you control a non-Fusion "Essence" monster: You can add this card and an "Essence" Spell/Trap (except "Accessence Fusion") from your GY to your hand. You can only use this effect of "(ste) Accessence Fusion" once per turn. (I want to balance the card advantage for Ritual/Fusion, so I decided to give them the +1 bounce effect. However, they will be strictly locked to the archetype to make it fairer cause this is not an unlimited-negate-disco-ball-deck-2.0. They also require having a non-Ritual/non-Fusion "Essence" monster to use its effects, too.) Ravinessence Santuary Spell/Field When this card is activated: You can add an "Essence" Dragon monster from your Deck to your hand. Neither player can control 2 or more monsters with the same name. During your Main Phase, you can discard 1 card: Immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 "Essence" Fairy monster from your hand. Then, if that discarded card is a "Essence" Normal monster, you can Special Summon that monster to the field. You can only use each effects of "Ravinessence Santuary" once per turn. (The Field Spell only allows you to add Dragon, and if you want to search the Fairy ones, you have to have another "Essence" Fairy card on your hand, to activate the Field's effect and search through the card "Vanil, Dragon of Primal Essence".) Navigatessence Entrance Spell/Continous You can activate each of the following effect of "Navigatessence Entrance" once per turn, based on the monsters you currently control; ● "Dragon": Send a "Essence" monster from your Deck to the GY. ● "Hydragon": Send an "Essence" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to the GY, except "Navigatessence Entrance". (The deck's "multifunctional" Foolish Burial, however monsters in this Archetype can not activate any effect when sent from the Deck.) Dimensional Illusion Spell Reveal up to 5 "Essence" monsters in your hand and excavate cards from the top of your Deck equal to the number of monsters revealed; send every "Essence" card to the GY, then, if you sent an "Essence" Spell/Trap by this effect, you can add any number of "Essence" monster sent to GY by this effect to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Dimensional Illusion" per turn. (After doing a quick math, if you have 3 monsters in your hand, the chance to activate the adding eff is 87,5%, and if you do, the average amount of monsters can be added is 1 (in a pure deck, with the M/ST ratio is 50/50) ) Fortressence Stronghold Trap/Continous Activate this card by discard up to 3 cards. While this card is face-up on the field, "Essence" monsters you control is unaffected by your opponent's effects of cards with the same original type (Monster/Spell/Trap) as the cards discarded by this card effect. If the activation of an "Essence" Spell/Trap you control is negated: You can banish this card from the field or GY; add another "Essence" Spell/Trap from the Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "(ste) Fortressence Stronghold" per turn. (Is this card necessary or not? I have no idea) Ravagessence Devastation Trap If you control an "Essence" Dragon monster: Destroy cards on the field, equal to the number of monsters used for that monster's Summon. During your Main Phase, if this card is in your GY: You can sent 2 "Essence" Fairy monsters with the same name, each from your hand and your Deck; destroy 1 card on the field. You can only use 1 "Ravagessence Devastation" effect per turn, and only once that turm. (In case you want to destroy some backrows i guess) tba Quote Basic "Essence" Dragon monsters: These Dragons usually have strictly-required materials. But they will have disruptions and the abilities to combine with others to become better boss monsters. Ignis, Dragon of Fire Essence 5* FIRE Dragon/Ritual/Effect ATK 1800 / DEF 1000 You can Ritual Summon this card with "Accessence Ritual". When a card or effect from the hand or GY is activated (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 "Essence" card; negate that effect. During your Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Ritual Summon 1 "Essence" monster from your Deck using materials you control, including this monster. You can only use each effect of "Ignis, Dragon of Fire Essence" once per turn. (I hate handtrap.) Herba, Dragon of Plant Essence 5* WATER Dragon/Fusion/Effect ATK 1600 / DEF 1400 1 "Plant Essence" + 1 "Essence" monster When a Trap on the field or its effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 "Essence" card; negate that effect. During your Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Fusion Summon 1 "Essence" monster from your Extra Deck using materials you control, including this monster. You can only use each effect of "Herba, Dragon of Plant Essence" once per turn. (Instant Fusion is limited in both format) Ventus, Dragon of Air Essence 5* WIND Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK 1700 / DEF 1200 1 "Air Essence" Tuner + 1 non-Tuner monster When a Spell on the field or its effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 "Essence" card; negate that effect. During your Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 "Essence" monster from your Extra Deck using materials you control, including this monster, also, a material is treated as a Level 3 Tuner monster. You can only use each effect of "Ventus, Dragon of Air Essence" once per turn. (Also the reason why they're Dragon-Type is because it's easier to find artwork lol) Lympha, Dragon of Water Essence 6* WATER Dragon/Pendulum/Effect ATK 1500 / DEF 1600 Pendulum Scales 1 Pendulum Effect: You can send 1 "Water Essence" Fairy monster you control to the GY; Special Summon this card from your Pendulum Zone. You can only use this effect of "Lympha, Dragon of Water Essence" once per turn. Monster Effect: Must be Pendulum Summoned while having 2 "Essence" Pendulum Scales, or Special Summoned by an "Essence" card effect. You can discard 1 "Essence" card (Quick Effect): Target 1 monster you control; it gains 800 ATK/DEF until the end of this turn. During your Main Phase, you can: Place an "Essence" Pendulum Dragon monster from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone, then activate it effect. You can only use each effect of "Lympha, Dragon of Water Essence" once per turn. (This card is a little bit different, but still, it's Pendulum) Luxra, Dragon of Light Essence LINK-3 LIGHT Dragon/Link/Effect ATK 1900 Link Markers: T BR BL 2+ monsters, including an "Light Essence" monster When a card or effect that target a monster you control is activated (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 "Essence" card; negate that effect. During your Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Link Summon 1 "Essence" monster from your Extra Deck using materials you control, including this monster, also, another material is treated as a Link monster. You can only use each effect of "Luxra, Dragon of Light Essence" once per turn. (More generic than the other Dragons, but require more to summon.) Vanil, Dragon of Primal Essence 5* LIGHT Dragon/Effect ATK 1800/ DEF 1600 This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the GY. You can send up to 3 "Essence" Fairy monster with the same attribute from your Deck to the GY. Then, if you sent 3 different monsters, you can add 1 of these to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Vanil, Dragon of Primal Essence" once per turn. (This one do not have any disruption. Definitely the target for the Field Spell. You have to play 3 different card to search, though) Tenebris, Dragon of Shadow Essence Rank 3 DARK Dragon/Xyz/Effect 2 Level 3 monsters, including an "Shadow Essence" monster During your turn, when a monster effect on the field is activated (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 "Essence" card; negate that effect. During your Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Xyz Summon 1 "Essence" monster from your Extra Deck using materials you control, including this monster, also, both materials is treated as level X monsters (with X equal to this monster's Rank +3). You can only use each effect of "Tenebris, Dragon of Shadow Essence" once per turn. (This card's PSCT definitely need to be fixed) Quote Advanced "Essence" Dragon monsters: These monster are combined forms of the basic Dragon. You have to Summon them with the Dragons in order for them to gain effect, and it's twice-per-turn. They also have recovery effects too. Blast, Hydragon of Flare LINK-4 FIRE Dragon/Link/Effect ATK 2500 Link Markers: R BR BL L 2 "Essence" Link monsters, including the names below (This card is always treated as an "Light Essence" and "Fire Essence" monster.) Gains its Dragon materials' monster effect. If this monster negates a card effect or activation, destroy it. When an "Essence" Dragon monster you control is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon another "Light Essence" or "Fire Essence" monster from the GY. You can only use each effect of "Blast, Hydragon of Flare twice per turn. (Light + Fire, no handtrap and no target. Also forgot to mention, the Dragons can destroy negated card now) Arbor, Hydragon of Sprout 8* WIND Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK 2100 / DEF 2600 1 "Essence" Tuner monster + 1 non-Tuner "Plant Essence" monster (This card is always treated as an "Plant Essence" and "Air Essence" monster.) Gains its Dragon materials' monster effects. If this monster negates a card effect or activation, destroy it. When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon another "Plant Essence" or "Air Essence" monster from the GY. You can only use each effect of "Arbor, Hydragon of Sprout" twice per turn. (Say no to your Spell and Trap.) Halitus, Hydragon of Steam 7* WATER Dragon/Ritual/Pendulum/Effect ATK 2300 / DEF 2500 Pendulum Scales 8 Pendulum Effect: You can Special Summon this monster from your Pendulum Zone by tributing monsters you control, including an "Fire Essence" and "Water Essence" monster. (This is treated as a Ritual and Pendulum Summon.) Monster Effect: (This card is always treated as an "Fire Essence" and "Water Essence" monster.) You can Ritual Summon this card with "Accessence Ritual". Cannot be Pendulum Summoned. Gains its Dragon materials' monster effect. If this monster negates a card effect or activation, destroy it. When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon another "Fire Essence" or "Water Essence" monster from the GY. You can only use each effect of "Halitus, Hydragon of Steam" twice per turn. (It was made before the release of the first Ritual Pendulum, so PSCT may need to be corrected) Veneum, Hydragon of Poison Rank 6 DARK Dragon/Xyz/Effect ATK 2400 / DEF 2400 2 Level 6 "Essence" monsters, including the names below (This card is always treated as a "Shadow Essence" and "Plant Essence" monster.) Gains its Dragon materials' monster effects. If this monster negates a card effect or activation, destroy it. When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon another "Shadow Essence" or "Plant Essence" monster from the GY. You can only use these effects of "Veneum, Hydragon of Poison" twice per turn. tba Quote Other support monsters: Arcean, Essence Dragon of Secret LINK-1 WATER Dragon/Link/Effect ATK 1000 Link Markers: BR 1 "Essence" monster, except "Arcean, Essence Dragon of Secret" When this card is Link Summoned, if you control another "Essence" card: Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the GY. Then, if there was a "Essence" card among them: You can Special Summon 1 "Essence" Fairy monster from your hand. You can only use each effect of "Arcean, Essence Dragon of Secret" once per turn. Primt, Essence Dragon of Virtual LINK-2 EARTH Dragon/Link/Effect ATK 2000 Link Markers: BL B 2 monsters. including an "Essence" Fairy monster When this card is Link Summoned: You can send 1 "Essence" Spell/Trap from the Deck to the GY. During your Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can banish an "Essence" card from your hand or field; add an "Essence" Spell/Trap from your GY to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Primt, Essence Dragon of Virtual" once per turn. (I decided not to give the Archetype any monster-adding effect now, because the point of making the deck is that you need to use your brain to utilize what you already have and will have though milling. If you do, that is enough for you to make a big bad board.) tba Quote I cannot post all the cards because it will be too much (about 50 or so), but the above cards have already shown a clear view of this archetype's playstyle. Keranendy Posted February 8, 2022 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2022 Apparently, the effect of "Vanil, Dragon of Primal Essence" cannot be fully used by now, as now we only have WATER monsters that have 3 different cards.
