Ankh_Dev
So i decided to make my own custom archetype, and detailed what i want to do here (as good as i can): I'm looking for tips on how to make these cards more balanced / better and how to improve the archetype idea. Any tips would be amazing Here is my first example of the card types i want to make: Horus, The Egyptian God of War Level 6 Light God / Effect Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. You can Special Summon this card (from you hand) by discarding 1 "Egyptian God" monster. You can also Special Summon this card (from your hand) if you control no monsters. If this card is sent to the GY by card effect; Shuffle this card into the deck, then Special Summon an "Egyptian God" monster from your deck. The Summoned card's effects are negated until the end of your opponents next end phase. If this car battles a Defence position monster, Inflict Piercing Battle Damage ATK/2800 DEF/2500 I thought that I would take a page of the dragon ruler's book for the only discarding to summon, and having GY effects. I thought it would make sense in context that the god of war would summon "reinforcements" from the deck, and inflicts piercing battle damage, since hes a God fighter. Horus is also the king of the gods, after Ra. So he being the way he is makes the most sense to me. Any help would be apreciated. I will actually start working on the next card and maybe add it here EDIT: Created second card. Isis, Egyptian Goddess of Healing Level 6 Light God / Effect Effect: This Card cannot be Normal Summoned / Set. If an "Egyptian God" monster is destroyed by battle or card effect; Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Special Summoned; Special Summon one "Egyptian God" monster from your GY, negate it's effects; and if you do; place Isis Counters on this card equal to the number of "Egyptian God" monsters in your GY. If an "Egyptian God" monster you control would be destroyed; You can remove One Isis Counter from this card instead. ATK/2000 DEF/3000 I decided to focus this card on healing since Isis is the goddess of healing. Since Goddess includes God in it. It will still interact normally with searches. Kind of like D/D and D/D/D Anything that says summon a "D/D" can summon a "D/D/D". Back onto the card, I decided that it would summon itslef when another god/dess dies, and that it can keep protecting others, based on the amount that have dies / fallen. So in the late game, when you're opponent destroys your last monster and you're about to lose, you can summon this, and have a pretty good defense wall until you can get a good draw or set up one of you're bosses. I know any non destruction removal can get rid of it, but if I add unaffected by card effects, I think it would be too good
Ankh_Dev
i'm also going to add these 2, hoping this isn't too fast bumping. Osiris, Egyptian God of The Underworld Level 6 LIGHT God / Effect Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned / Set. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by discarding one "Egyptian God" monster. You can also Special Summon the card (from your hand) if a card in any GY is banished. If this card is Special Summoned; Banish one card on the field. Discard one card; then Banish one monster on the field. You can only activate this effect of "Osiris, Egyptian God of The Underwolrd" Once per turn. ATK/2700 DEF/3000 Here is another one: Anubis, Egyptian God of Death Level 6 LIGHT God / Effect Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. You can Special summon this card (from your hand) by either Discarding one "Egyptian God" monster or by Banishing one "Egyptian God" monster from your GY. If this card is Special Summoned; Banish one card from either player's graveyard, and if you do, negate the effects of all cards with that name. Discard one card; Banish one card in you're opponen'ts graveyard, and negate it's effects. ATK/2500 DEF/2000
The Nyx Avatar
One thing I must point out: If it's a Type that doesn't exist in real life, it can't be in Realistic Cards. You could either change the Type to Divine-Beast or Fairy. Else, this set would have to be moved to Casual Cards

You could either change the Type to Divine-Beast or Fairy. Else, this set would have to be moved to Casual Cards Ok Sorry I didn't know. I'm changing them now. What are you're opinion on the cards? I also made these, being the summoners of the deck: Thoth, Egyptian God of Knowledge Level 6 LIGHT <7> <7> Pendulum Effect: If your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or effect (Quick Effect); Negate the activation and If you do, destroy it, then add one "Egyptian God" Spell/Trap from your deck to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Thoth, Egyptian God of Knowledge" once per turn. [Divine-Beast/Effect] Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by discarding one "Egyptian God" Spell/Trap. If this card is Special Summoned; Add one "Egyptian God" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn (Quick Effect): If you're opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or effect; Negate the activation. ATK/ 2000 DEF/ 3000 Thoth is the god of knowledge, so it makes sense to me for the card to be a spell searcher, and negator. It's also pendulum because the concept of pendulum links to knowledge in my head. Here is the other card Sobek, Egyptian God of The Nile Level 6 Light <5> <5> Pendulum Effect: If you control no monsters; Special Summon 2 Sobek Tokens (Divine-Beast/LIGHT/Level 6/ATK 2000/DEF 2000). You Cannot Pendulum Summon the turn you activate this effect. you can only activate this effect of "Sobek, Egyptian God of The Nile" once per turn. [Divine-Beast/Effect] Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Discarding one "Egyptian God" monster. If this card is sent to the GY; Draw 1 card. If this card is Special Summoned; Draw 1 card. If this card battled this turn; Destroy one "Egyptian God" monster, and if you do, Special Summon one Sobek Token (Divine-Beast/LIGHT/Level 6/ATK 2000/DEF 2000) in Attack mode. As for Sobek. He is the god of the nile and land fertitlity. SO it made sense to me that he can pendulum summon anhd create tokens aswell. Also the drawing represents the fertility aswell As you can see the scales for both are 5 and 7 because I plan on making "Boss" cards level 10/12. And since it would be op for them to be pendulum summoned. I am also planning on doing spells and traps, as Thoth suggests. Extra deck monsters are on my list, but im not sure tbh. The Nyx Avatar
Horus: He should not have an effect that lets him Summon if you control no monsters. Monsters we currently have don't have that high a threshold of ATK. Also, his Deck Summon should be "You can only activate this effect of "Horus, Egyptian God of War" once per turn." Else, you get something like Performage Plushfire. Who is currently on the banlist. Isis: Decent recovery and protection. Not much more to say. Osiris: Too many banishes for one turn. He should have a stricter "once per turn". Like, "You can only use 1 "Osiris, Egyptian God of The Underworld" effect per turn, and only once that turn. Anubis: He also needs some sort of "once per turn" clause. Else, you can just ditch your whole hand just to banish your opponent's Graveyard. Thoth: He should have some semblance of cost for his negation. It costs nothing to use his negation. Perhaps a Life Point cost, like 1000. His monster effects also need some sort of "once per turn" clause. Too much for too little right now Sobek: Downright UNFAIR Token spawn! Also...no one cares about Pendulum Summoning if you put down 2 fat Tokens for free. It should be "You cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck the turn you activate this effect." His monster effect also needs a strict "once per turn" clause. Too much for too little
Sleepy
Horus rework:ATK/ 2600 DEF/ 1500 Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by controlling no monsters OR by discarding 1 "Egyptian God" monster. If this card is sent to the GY by a card effect; You can shuffle it into the Deck, then Special Summon 1 "Egyptian God" monster from your Deck, except "Horus, Egyptian God of War", and if you do, negate its effects until your opponent's next End Phase. If this card battles a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. ^I changed the "one" for "1", shortened up the text a little, and made it so that you cannot Summon another copy of himself from the Deck for an eternal loop. Maybe you DID want an eternal loop to be viable but if you were wary enough of the card's balance to foresight add the negation drawback and had it return to the deck so it wouldn't just come back with the next Isis play you trigger, I doubt you are looking to break these cards very badly. In all honesty I think the temporary negation is a bit much and would make them a sittting duck in many scenarios, so it might be over-balancing a bit. One thing though, I did give it less ATK/DEF stats in my suggestion because 2600 is about where the game currently stands with Dinowrestler Pankratops in terms of "Special this when you have no monster" conditions. - - - - - Isis's turn:Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. If an "Egyptian God" monster(s) is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Egyptian God" monster from your GY, except "Isis, Egyptian Goddess of healing", with its effect negated, and if you do, place Isis Counters on this card equal to the number of "Egyptian God" monsters in your GY. If an "Egyptian God" monster(s) would be destroyed, you can remove up to 1 Isis Counter from this card for each monster, and if you do, that monster many "Egyptian God" monsters are not destroyed. ^So here, I made all effects optional rather than mandatory (they are "if" + "you can" anyways so don't worry about timing issues). I also elaborated a bit on the protection effect. I'm once again kind of iffy on the effect negation, if you wanted it to not revive numerous Iris copies, you just need to keep the red text and then you can get rid of the blue text. Otherwise, if you wanted it to revive copies of itself for Xyz Summons or anything else, you can get rid of the red text and keep the blue one. That is my suggestion. Ah, almost forgot to mention: I removed the colon/semi-colon format from the protection effect. If you look at cards like Maestroke the Symphony Djinn, you'll notice they don't "activate" either. This is because if it did, there'd be a lot of nifty ways to make its protection miss its window of activation with chain link order shenanigans. Your card should also be able to work well. Part of me thinks the destruction protection is a bit ridiculous because your GY at some point will be like 8 counters every time you revive something, BUUUUT then again, there's other forms of removal and the card would probably sound more "normal" if it simply made monsters indestructible so it only looks like a broken clause when it isn't xD ....so it is fine. - - - - - - Osiris:Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) immediately after a card(s) in your GY is banished OR by discarding 1 "Egyptian God" monster. If this card is Special Summoned from your hand: You can target 1 card on the field; banish it. You can discard 1 card to target 1 monster on the field; banish it. You can only activate this effect of "Osiris, Egyptian God of the Underworld" once per turn, and cannot be used if this card was Summoned from the hand. Once again, I my suggestion I fuse both Summoning conditions into one clause. Also check my rewording because you kinda capitalize words that don't need to be or write out numbers in letter form for some reason. Here is where I'm gonna say your effects have not been targeting cards. I did not change that aspect in Isis' card but over here with Osiris it is starting to look a bit odd. It is a very powerful effect so I think it needs to target. Also, 2700/3000 is a bit too strong for something that can suddenly drop by punishing an opponent's D.D. Crow or Called by the Grave. I'd say drop at least the DEF to like 2000. The red text I put there is a last suggestion I have for you for now xD Essentially, I think having both effects live is a bit much. The first effect is already extremely good and you can still make a lot of use from a generic banish removal of ANY CARD that punishes your GY being tampered with, and can in turn still be triggered by you if you use anything that would banish from your own GY so it isn't a huge loss. Them other effect that is once per turn, it is slower and only hits on monsters, but it can be done more times in the long run so I think it'd be fair if you keep it when Summoned by other means such as Isis (granted this only works if you take my suggestion on Isis and have her not negate the Summoned monster's effect, but still). I'll leave that up to you. So far I have the impression you like making absolutely sure your cards are balanced so I'm gonna wait and see what you think about the blue suggestion making sure both effects are never live at the same time (if you do take the red suggestion). - - - - - Anubis:Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) either by discarding 1 "Egyptian God" monster or by banishing 1 "Egyptian God" monster from your GY. If this card is Special Summoned: You can banish 1 card from either player's GY, and if you do, negate the effects of all cards with that name while this card is face-up on the field. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card to target 1 card in your opponent's GY; banish it, and if you do, negate its effect. ^The blue text is unchanged more or less... I added "targeting" but I need to ask what your intention here is because that sounds like it wanted to be a Quick Effect but isn't written like one. Also because of the way it Summons itself, it can't be dropped quickly like Osiris' that responds to a specific action..... Anubis is full on spell speed 1 all the way despite almost being a "called by the grave". I would probably not leave the blue effect as is either way but need to make sure of that. - - - - All in all, not bad. Though, fake type = not super realistic, you'd be better off using Divine Beast although even that is not all that realistic because the game in real life has made a point on making sure nothing but the 3 original Egyptian God cards (Obelisk, Ra, Slifer) have that type. Even support like the Egyptian God Slime or Ra's Disciple are other stuff... even Horakthy (the fusion of the 3) has its own typing that's different from them for some reason. Level 6 monsters are a lot more commonly placed between 2300 (if you want it weaker than the norm to make up for a particularly strong effect), 2400 (standard), or 2600 (vanillas). 2700+, especially with 2000+ DEF stats and self-Summon clauses, are a bit overboard IMO. Though I made the stat suggestions for the most part up there already. I like the concept.
