tripledawn
Card 4: I've been experimenting with Pendulum cards recently, so I felt it sort of fitting to try a witchcrafter that you can swap out and then use a spell. Edit mk.2: Parfumeurin got lore and a balance patch! Thanks you guys for the critiques. Also, 3rd witch is up! Welcome to Witchcrafter Lenador. It's worth noting that I've been trying to design these with the current card pool in mind, and that they are not all meant to be played together. I'm doing this as a sort of "if I were Konami designing a legacy support card" exercise. Edit: added card no.2! Witchcrafter Parfumeurin is in the shop. Original Post: With the SSB1 set looming, we still haven't gotten any indication on the Witchcrafter support. I'm legit hyped, so until Konami disappoints me with the reveal I'm gonna trickle this cards as sort of a wish list of effects I'd like to see. 1. Quote Name: Witchcrafter Sefarim Type: DARK / Spellcaster / Effect Stats: Level 6 / 2100 ATK / 1800 DEF Text: (Quick Effect); You can discard any number of Spell cards, then target that many cards in the GYs: banish them. You can banish 1 "Witchcrafter" card from your GY: add 1 banished "Witchcrafter" card to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Witchcrafter Sefarim" once per turn. Quote Some notes: "Sefarim" means books in Hebrew. I really want an in engine D.D. Crow effect -_- but it's feels like it's bit nuanced to balance. I wish I could make the effect stronger then it is already but the mechanics got kinda skechy. The second effect is a direct +1, and faster recursion. Not really much to say considering how slow the advantage gain is in the rest of archetype. I love the deck to bits, but it's so slow. Lore: Sefarim is a new member to the Witchcrafter guild, but was instantly accepted with open arms by the rest of the witches. She keeps strict minutia of the guild meetings, and offers whatever knowledge she has generously. Sefarim has ties to the old methods of magic bound to books, last seen in the Star Halls of the Spellbook Tower, though no one's sure where she got those skills. Art - sort of a mishmash of my own creation using the following listed sources. I know it's a bit rough around the edges (pun intended) but I hope it turned out okay. Foreground - Ascendance of a Bookworm part 3 volume 4 cover. Background - could not find the source to credit, I tried. It can be found (complete with witch girl) in the following link https://wallpapersmug.com/w/wallpaper/witch-magic-blue-eyes-anime-girl-original-7208dc16844 Book on left is the book from this art - https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/65610713 Book on the right is (I think?) from here - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/QPz38 2. (post revision) Quote Name: Witchcrafter Parfumeurin Type: DARK / Spellcaster / Link / Effect Stats: Link 2 (Right, Bottom-Left), ATK 1700 Text: 2 Spellcaster monsters with different Attributes If a monster this card points to activates it's effect (except during the damage step), activate 1 of these effects: ● You can shuffle 1 "Witchcrafter" card in your hand or in the GY to the deck: add 1 "Witchcrafter" card from your deck to your hand, and if it is a monster you can Special Summon it to a zone this card points to. ● Shuffle into the deck both 1 "Witchcrafter" card you control, and 1 card on the field. You can only use each effect of "Witchcrafter Parfümeurin" once per turn. Quote Lore - Parfümeurin is the feminine variant of 'perfumer' in German. She's a rare sight on the bystreet, mostly appearing when rare regents are supplied, or to exchange alchemical ingredients as well as various feminine products. Like her attribute alludes, she also deals with potions and products that can't be sold on the open market, or are morally grey. She's very aloof, only ever joining the conversation when either she or her research are directly involved. Art: Couldn't find the original artist. Quote Name: Witchcrafter Leñador Type: LIGHT / Spellcaster / Link / Effect Stats: Link 1 (Bottom-Left arrow) / 0 ATK Text: 1 "Witchcrafter" monster You can only Special Summon "Witchcrafter Leñador" once per turn. If this card points to a "Witchcrafter" monster, your opponent cannot target "Witchcrafter" spells/traps your control with card effects. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can tribute this card, then discard 1 spell; Special Summon 1 banished "Witchcrafter" monster. You can only use this effect of "Witchcrafter Leñador" once per turn. Quote Lore - "Leñador" means Lumberjack in Galacian. (I'm trying to keep the names somewhat varied.) Not so much a witch in her own right, but what she lacks in spellcraft she more then make up for with kindspritted-ness, down to earth point of view, and practicality. To say the bystreet wouldn't be as successful as it is without her tools, skills, and support would be lying. She constantly collaborates with the others on various projects, reigning them when they go out of hand, and provides emotional support when things go wrong. Name: Witchcrafter Clientele Type: Warrior / Effect Stats: Level 1 / 100 ATK / 200 DEF Pend Text: If a "Witchcrafter" monster you control would discard to activate an effect, you can send this card from your field to the GY instead. Monster Text: During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card and discard 1 Spell; Special Summon 1 "Witchcrafter" monster from your Deck, except "Witchcrafter Clientele". During your End Phase, if you control a "Witchcrafte" monster, while this card is in your GY: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. You can only use each effect of "Witchcrafter Clientele" once per turn. Quote Source Art - First cover of "The Alchemist Who Survived Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life, Vol. 1 (light novel)" Lore: the friendly customers of the guild's ateliers. These two in particular have their heads in the clouds, but are reliable when push comes to shove.

I love how you went for this and my favorite part is you can add back the card you banish for cost.

Pommelo
Myne from Honzuki no Gekokujou makes it to the Witchcrafter Guild, I missed that chapter xD I like both cards. Myne Serafim has a pretty interesting (but a bit steep in prize) banishing effect and solid add to hand one that seems fair enough. Parfümeurin is a bit too strong ATK wise, the strongest Link 2 monster in existence right now has 2300, from there one 2100 and lots of 2000. The effects are balanced but strong, and while the particular material requirements make it relatively niche, I don't think it warrants such high ATK. Loving the shuffle effect, it's a pity it doesn't avoid targeting like Madoche Tiaramisu.
tripledawn
Thanks for the comments guys, glad you like them. I missed the ATK thing on the link 2. Don't remember why I thought it was okay, and I'll definitely change it by the time the third card is up; on the flip side, The Tiaramisu comment is an interesting one, I'll consider that buff. Apropos Madolche, you gave me the idea for a passive targeting protection to the archtype's backrow! I was starved for a good passive effect, and that's a good one. Loleo
The Link 2 can't use it's first effect to Special summon unless the monster that met the trigger removed itself, is this intended? Something is bugging me about the wording of the targeting on the second effect.

Something is bugging me about the wording of the targeting on the second effect. Thanks for the reply, and yes: it is intended! The small witches tribute themselves for cost (to summon another witch), which opens the zone to go wide with monsters without hurting your resource loop as much. To explain a bit further: the intended loop for the card would be to use a small witch under the arrow, use the first effect to summon a big witch or recover lost resources (or fix the hand) and place a big witch beneath the arrow. the second effect can help you clear the big witch back into the resource pool to keep the loop going or to protect from spot removal. You can still use the effect in a different order/fashion, but that'll hurt your long term resources in exchange for instant benefit. You are correct with the targeting wording on the second effect, thank you for spotting that! It should have read like Escape of the Unchained "Target 1 "Witchcrafter" card you control and 1 card on the field;". Though I ended making it non-targeting (like DPE) in exchange for nerfing the ATK and placing an "except during damage step" clause. Considering the Parfumeurin link serves the same roles as Hextia and (Weather) Rainbow, I'm guessing the balance will be fine in that case? About the link 1... I can write a novel with my opinions on link 1s, but the allure is strong. I tried to keep simple yet toolboxy, providing a low-risk play to get the resources engine going, or restarting it after comitting resources to a play. tripledawn
Bump for card number 4. Also, I'm looking for good ideas for spells, if anyone has any. I've had a few, but they end up either too plain, or to insane.
