Yugo1
Are you allowed to negate a magic or trap card with a Mystical Space Typhoon or a Dust Tornado? For example, I activate Heavy Storm. Are you allowed to activate MST or DT to stop it? Thanks in advance.
Guest JoshIcy
no because the card is already being sent to the graveyard, thus it has already been activated.... you cannot destroy a card that is already being destroyed or in this case being removed from the field to the graveyard. CrabHelmet
No. Destroy =/= negate. Even if the card is destroyed, its effect is already on the chain. The only exception is for effects of cards that need to remain face-up on the field, such as Royal Decree.
pizzaman
Nope, MST etc only destroys, and it never negates.Think of effects of S/T's as a bullet, and the card itself as a gun.Even if you destroy the gun after it fires, the bullet will keep going forward. Although I admit, negating spells and traps with MST is something any player goes through when learning the rules.Still makes me smile whenever I see primary year students buy a structure deck, read the rule book quickly, and start playing on the spot... negating Spells with MST while at it. Yugo1
Yeah, and more thing. Sak Armor negates the attack too, correct?
CrabHelmet
Sakuretsu Armor does not directly negate the attack, so if a card is immune to destruction by a [Trap] card effect, the attack will continue; it will not function as Hero Barrier. However, if the monster in question is destroyed, it is no longer on the field, and thus cannot battle.
Guest JoshIcy
off a technicality, saku doesnt really negate it but destroys it before the attack occurs.... slight subtle difference, but since it isnt a continuous trap it still doesnt take effect in the chain and still happens

Orochi
no because the card is already being sent to the graveyard' date=' thus it has already been activated.... you cannot destroy a card that is already being destroyed or in this case being removed from the field to the graveyard.[/quote'] wrong answer, the cards doesn't go to the grave until their effects resolves...
