New archetype: KSIES RAISER R-

The "KSIES RAISER R-" archetype is a XYZ-support archetype that specialises in changing level or summoning tokens of varying levels

BASIC INFO

  • These cards are great at summoning other same-level cards, but bad at keeping those cards on the board past the Main Phase
  • These cards tend to change level often
  • Obviously, they can add material to existing XYZ monsters
  • They are all spellcasters

MONSTERS

  • KSIES RAISER R- AINBRINGER
  • WATER
  • Level 0
  • Spellcaster / Effect
  • During the draw phase, when you draw this card: You can special summon this card and if you do, declare a level between 0 and 5; This card becomes that level. If this card is Summoned this way: Return this card to your deck during your Battle phase or End phase. This effect cannot be negated.

  • Spellcaster / Effect
  • Once per turn, target 1 monster on the field and 1 monster in your hand of the same level: Xyz summon a Xyz monster (from your extra deck); Destroy this card. Once per turn, while this card is in the GY: Banish this card; Activate this card's effect. When 3 "KSIES RAISER R-AGE" are face-up in the banished zone face up: Flip all of them face-down; activate these cards effect. You can only activate any of these effects once per turn

    * Summon 5 "KSIES RAISER R-1" Tokens (Level 1 DARK Spellcaster 0 atk / 0 def) that cannot be used for a tribute, synchro, fusion or link summon
    * Summon 4 "KSIES RAISER R-2" Tokens (Level 2 DARK Spellcaster 0 atk / 0 def) that cannot be used for a tribute, synchro, fusion or link summon
    * Summon 3 "KSIES RAISER R-3" Tokens (Level 3 DARK Spellcaster 0 atk / 0 def) that cannot be used for a tribute, synchro, fusion or link summon
    * Summon 2 "KSIES RAISER R-4" Tokens (Level 4 DARK Spellcaster 0 atk / 0 def) that cannot be used for a tribute, synchro, fusion or link summon

Extra facts: the KSIES part of the archetype name is based on the pronunciation of XYZ. The R in the name stands for Rank. The tokens were the idea I had first.

Ok VERY IMPORTANT this seems to be XYZ support but Tokens can't be used as XYZ material.

also 9500 DEF on rock with decent immunity? Cmon, at least drop to 2k. Also you never send a monster to the GY when using it to XYZ summon am I missing something.

I don't get R-Ricane's name, why does it have to be monsters you own, and why is that recovery busted?

Lastly what's up with Rage and Ricane's stats? 

 

All and all love the synchro support and unique ideas!

I didn't know that

It's meant to be destroyed by returning it to the hand then destroying it in the hand and it's effect activates when it's discarded to use a xyz effect

It's Like Hurricane, balance and balance

Rage has weird stats because i'm weird and i forgot Rricane's stats

Fair enough, a pretty simple board spam card, feels kind of like all the LV4 monsters that summon themselves from hand on an empty board. It might be a good idea to change the "during Draw Phase" clause for just the "when you draw this card" so ya can make it trigger if you draw the card by another card's eff, or even add a "or add this card to your hand" clause to be able to summon it of a search eff. As of now, drawing it outside the draw phase would be kinda miserable, specially due to the whole level 0 bit. As a side note, i think the condition of it returning to the hand is a lingering eff? If im correct there, then the "This effect cannot be negated" clause is a tad unnecesary (Not like this card desperately needs to shave some text, but still, its always good to optimize these things)

So, since the "Xyz summon a Xyz monster" clause is between a ":" and a ";", it is considered as a cost. What does that mean? It means that i happens before the activation of the card, and thus, your opponent doesnt get a window to interact and prevent the summon. Unless that was intentional, and you know how to balance around it, (I mean, given that you could probably just, yknow, make an Xyz with those 2 cards without having to use this card's effect, you could argue its the card's upside) i'd recommend swapping the places of that sentence and the "Destroy this card" sentence. On another note, you never specify what you do with the 2 cards you target for this effect. Im assuming you intend to use them as the Xyz materials, in which case, you'd need something like "Xyz summon a monster using those cards as Xyz materials (This is treated as an Xyz summon)" clause on it or something along those lines, i'd recommend just grabbing a random card that does something similar and copying the text of that card's effect, it often tends to be a good solution. On the topic of the "Activate this card's effect" clause, i have next to zero clue on how would that work, so, yeah, nothing to add here

Ignoring the whole needless protection and def Itsu already mentioned (Im asuming you might have meant 950?), the second effect is, kind of messy. I think the correct way to word it is "If this card being used as an Xyz material is sent to the GY:"? Not so confident on this one. Cards like Zoos have effects like this one, but i cant remeber a closer eff to be able to check what the correct wording is. In any case, i would probably be on guard for this card needing some changes in the second eff's wording

I feel like this card either doesnt archieve that much or is absolutely bonkers. Sure, attaching 3 cards to an Xyz is cool and all, but couldnt you just, Xyz summon something with these cards? On the other hand, given that it is generic, you could just use it to turbo a bunch of materials into a Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus or a card like that. While im not sure how good that would be, i'd recommend limiting  this card effect to only cards within archetype (When you eventually get them) to prevent such shenanigans, and then unless you have an Xyz that heavily exploits this eff adding the option of attaching cards on field or GY instead of only field. The second eff, on the other hand, doesnt do much. Self bounces to dodge destruction are mainly useful in boss monsters, and dont archieve that much for a card like this. Also, in this specific case, you should use an "instead" instead of a ";" as otherwise it would interact with Spell Speed and not be something you could do in answer to a trap card or a Quick Effect, the intended appliccation (I think)

As Itsu said, due to weird shenanigans regarding how tokens cannot go into specific locations and the like, tokens cannot be used as Xyz materials. So, yeah. This card doesnt do that much. Huh

Im not so certain on how the wording of this card would work, maybe you need to use an "and then" conector there? Either way, fair enough, a pretty simple extender

it's not a float

it's not meant to be a cost, i'm just dumb. Yes, they are meant to be used as the materials. It was just put there so I don't need to copy the text.

It's meant to put materials onto pre-existing XYZ monsters so you can activate their effect more. That's the intended purpose, and it is intended to be limited to 1. Thanks for the tip. I'll use that on my next card.
