Alto, Disguiser Fur Hire

Level 8

FIRE

Wyrm/Fusion/Effect

1600/2800

2 monsters with different types

Can also be fusion summoned by sending 2 monsters "Fur Hire" you control to the GY (In which case, you do not use "Polymerization"). You can discard one monster; (quick effect) Special summon one monster "Fur Hire" from your deck that is one level higher or lower then the discarded monster; and if you do, at the start of the next phase after this effect resolves, Link summon one monster using the summoned monster, this monster, and a monster you opponent controls, if you can't, destroy all monsters in your main monster zones and one card that shared a column with a card you controlled.

Goddog, Emperor Fur Hire

Link 4 (U, DL, D, DR)

Water

Warrior/Link/Effect

3200

4 monsters with different Types and Attributes

This monster cannot be used as material. This monster is unaffected by card effects while you control a monster "Fur Hire" other then "Goddog, Emperor Fur Hire". If you gain LP, inflict damage, or banish cards from the GY by the effect of a monster "Fur Hire": you can repeat that action. If you negate an effect while You control a level 5 or higher monster "Fur Hire", Destroy the negated card.

(thinking of adding the extra effect During each end phase you can special summon a level 7 or lower monster "Fur Hire" from your GY, when he is destroyed you also summon back Folgo treating it as a link summon, and he gains ~300 attack for each different type on the field [starting ATK would be 2400])

One thing... why in the world do Fur Hires, in their wording, place monster first, then the archetype? I've seen millions of archetypes and it's always arch first, then name, (e.g.) "Atlantean" monster. It's a mystery to me why Konami used this order precisely in Fur Hires and if there are other examples of archetypes that do this. *looks at a very recent archetype, Despia, to see if it has the structure, and NO" somebody explain to meeeee T_T

Things to note:

All kinds of summons and monster types must have capital letters (e.g. Fusion Summon, Xyz Monster, etc). (Quick Effect): also capital letters. Level, capital L. Deck, capital D xP. Deal damage -> inflict damage.

Since Alto is also a Contact Fusion, you should note (In which case, you do not use "Polymerization"). Alto's effect is hella cool, but the column thing seems out of place, IIRC no Fur Hire has anything of the sort. IDK, the effect is risky, no doubt, and the punishment fun in a real life game perspective (FUUUU no, don't Book of Moon my moooob). In the end you most likely destroy 1 card your opponent controls with the column effect, so.. all good, I guess.

Goddog... something basic, you didn't specify the arrows. I also need to understand why it says 4+ monsters. It's Link 4, so IIRC you can't surpass 4 materials to Summon it. "You can repeat the action" is also a pretty intriguing experimental wording. I wonder the repercussions, but for the time being, I approve.

Gladly. YOU SEE...this is supposed to be a pun (and a shitty one at that). "Fur Hire" is wordplay on the term "For hire". What do you use "for hire" in? Anyone/anything available to be hired. Maid for hire. Plumber for hire. Landscaper for hire. That sort of stuff. The archetype was originally called Skyfang Brigade. But TCG being TCG, thought it'd be amusing to give this archetype a new name that plays with the phrase I previously mentioned, and furries (given how all members are anthropomorphic animals). But that was not enough. Oh no! They ran this joke so deep that if it was a face, it'd end up like Zorin's at the end of Hellsing Ultimate. They wanted to be silly, and added "Fur Hire" before it. So it's like add 1 monster for hire. But with Fur instead of For.

Anywho, I guess I should review the cards:

Alto: A Contact Fusion is always nice. Unless you have a good Fusion Spell Card, Summon via Contact Fusion. Last effect is crazy. High reward, high risk. Or a double-edged sword if you will. I don't know how to judge this one properly. But I don't recall this archetype seeing competitive play recently, so I guess it couldn't hurt to try.

Goddog: It is mighty, but it requires 4 monsters with different Attributes. While they do vary in Attributes, they do have some repeating Attributes, so it's not absolutely easy either.

Only in the case of Alto. He just spits out a free "Fur Hire" monster from your Deck. That effect should at least have a cost.

for Alto his drawback is the risk, but a discard would make sense.

I think the addition is a bit much. Given how Goddog is immune to card effects. And given how you probably stole an opponent's monster just for that.
