Thomas★Zero
Gaia the Red-Eyes Dragon Champion lv 8 DARK Dragon/Fusion/Effect 1 "Gaia The Fierce Knight" monster + 1 Level 7 Dragon monster This card's name becomes "Gaia the Dragon Champion" while on the field. If this card was Fusion Summoned using "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" as Fusion Material, this card cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponents card effects. If this card destroys a Monster by battle: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed Monsters original ATK. If this card is destroyed by an opponents card: Special Summon 1 "Gaia The Fierce Knight" Monster and 1 Level 7 or lower Dragon Monster from your GY. You can only use this effect of "Gaia The Red-Eyes Dragon Champion" once per turn. ATK/2800 DEF/2400
Darj
Not so impressive. Even if Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon didn't exist as competition, this card is still lacking. The protection effect is good but 2800/2400 stats is not good enough to back it up. Battle effects are subpar nowadays unless we speak of nukes like Evenly Matched, and for merely a burn effect that doesn't net card advantage is generally not worth it. The float is cute and allows for Link or Rank7 plays but you are most likely better off fusing a different Red-Eyes monster with similar resources. If it floated into, let's say, a Red-Eyes or Gaia Knight monster from the ED, then you could be onto something.

You also got to consider the Gaia Fusion Spell that can make this a 5400 ATK beatstick where it then makes this hit hard.
Darj
Oh, didn't know about that card. It would have been nice if you had mentioned it in the opening thread. But that changes things a bit. It works as a regular Fusion, and the only searcher within the archetype is a Level 5 Dragon that may or may not have difficulty with using the effect, but once you get all the combo pieces we are speaking of a 5400-ATK Towers that attacks twice and has a Flame Wingman effect. Yeah... that's big.
