MakotoInotsume Posted August 16, 2021 Report Share Posted August 16, 2021 After seeing that battle of chaos would feature more Dark Magician support, I decided enough was enough and took my own go at making support for red eyes black dragon. This is my first time making cards like this, so the effects aren't the most original and I may have gotten the PSCT wrong in some spots but I do feel this is the kind of support that red-eyes would need to be any kind of relevant again. But to be fair, in a pure Red-Eyes deck, you can recycle cards every turn and Inferno Fire Blast literally works with EVERYTHING. I have literally won a game off of Black Skull Dragon and 3 Inferno Fire Blasts. Red-Eyes is the only one of the classic ace monsters that has a card that turns whatever it summons into Red-Eyes Black Dragon and I really enjoy that bit. Darj Posted August 16, 2021 Report Share Posted August 16, 2021 My issue with Red-Eyes support is that it can also end up supporting Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, a card so strong that it warped the metas. So you would have to be more careful and focus on whatever Red-Eyes decks do. Admittedly I am not familiar with they playstyle, but personally I would prefer a stronger focus on Slash Dragon, and provide more traps along Red-Eyes Fang with Chain, for a stronger control power. You could also take the burn route too but then it could get closer to a burn OTK/FTK strategy and those are generally disliked and frowned upon because of "no fun" and etc. Now, from your cards, I find Wizard, Potential and Mastery as the best ones. Mastery actually enhances their control power as I would like Red-Eyes to have, Wizard looks good because you can rarely go wrong with on-Normal Summon searchers, and Potential not only is an archetype Poly, also it is a Quick-Play for extra damage in the battle phase or possible disruptive Fusion Summons during the opponent's turn. Wish the Wizard also had a gambling effect like the original does, just for the flavor. I don't like the Link monster, though. 2800 ATK is abnormally huge for a Link with a Rating of 2, and it's yet another Red-Eyes Spell/Trap searcher... that may be pushing it, IDK. Maybe it's fine considering that instead of this you could go for Verte Anaconda and shortcut into Red-Eyes Fusion. But IMO it definitely needs an ATK drop, or gain ATK under certain conditions, like using the original Red Eyes Black Dragon as material. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JairoLeyn100 Posted August 18, 2021 Report Share Posted August 18, 2021 I really like "Red-Eyes", it's an Archetype with lots of potential (I always considered this way before knowing that Red-Eyes was considered as "The dragon of potential". I always try to come up with different strategies, on which I could use the power of Red-Eyes. Once I made a Deck, that combines "Red-Eyes" with the "Dragon Lords". Using "Paladin of Felgrand" and "Guardian of Felgrand" effects to equip 1 Level 7 Red-Eyes from my hand or Deck is quite usefull. Of course to use the other effect of those two, I need to control another monster to activate them, that's why is better to have the Spell "Ruins of the Divine Dragon Lords" for this. Buth mainly I combine these Archetypes to fully use the effects of "Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight" and "Red-Eyes Slash Dragon". Anyway, about your cards... I kinda like most them, specially the Rec-Eyes counterparts of Joey's other monsters, like Time Wizard, Flame Swordsman, and Gilford; although the effect of this last one to inflict damage equal to the destroyed monster by battle is kinda to much for a Level 7 Effect monster, who can be Special Summoned (from your hand or GY) by Tributing monsters on the field or from your hand whose total Levels are equal to or more than 7. I think you need to "tone it down a little". Maybe something like "Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK of the detsroyed monster", or maybe leave it like you put it, but make it as an effect that can only be activated if the card was Special Summoned by Tributing a "Red-Eyes Black Dragon".
