~British Soul~
Now the (seemingly no longer random) reprint of Hydra in OTS 16 makes sense. The field spell having Ccarayhua's geoglyph is a flavour win given Misty used said EI and Reptilliannes in the anime.
Tinkerer
Quite a bit of Reptile love, huh? It's interesting that the Synchro doesn't actually negate anything, but its effect is also not an OPT either. It makes it so the deck doesn't actively stop your opponent from doing anything, but also makes it really annoying for your opponent to actually try to win. The ability for these & ogdoadic to play out of the GY gives a pretty defensive game plan.
The Nyx Avatar
Ooh! Now this I like! Is there room for improvement in this archetype? Sure. But these cards have some actual effort put into them. I couldn't say that about some of the newer Ice Barrier cards. Nyaminy: Okay effect. Not much to say about it. Coatl: Self-Summoner that Summons more members? Yes, please! Before this, the only Self-Summoners we had were Lamia and Vaskii. Melsine: She's okay...really okay... Sure, a welcome addition to the Extra Deck, but nothing too stellar. Lamification: That sadistic art looks great, and I like that it took a page out of Pendulum Call's book to add. Recoil: A nice nod to Misty's Earthbound Immortal. And the ability to steal their monsters is cool to me. Overall, I welcome these new additions to the Reptilianne archetype. Sure, a Reptilianne Deck may not reach competitive status, but all this support lets you make a more competent Reptilianne Deck.
Darj
Nyaminy was so close to being awesome if it could activate her Quick Effect during the Battle Phase. Melsine is the MVP, IMO. Immunity to battle & effect destruction, Quick Effect destruction that although it doesn't negate, neutering the offense of a monster ought to be just as annoying, plus as icing on cake it can omni-search any Reptile. Note that the Quick Effect is once per chain, so it can be used multiple times in a turn. Really, IDK what Reptiliannes can do now, but if they want to give a shot at the meta, they should look into opening with at least this. Lamification looks great but I find it dull as basically an archetype Pendulum Call-like x2 searcher. Recoil stands out to me because it has effects that I would expect in a Cont. Spell/Trap, not on a Field Spell. Most Field Spells have at least 1 Continuous effect, but in this card's case, all of its effects activate.
