Sleepy Posted June 5, 2021 Report Share Posted June 5, 2021 Alchemic Division's Amplify [Quick-Play Spell] Target a monster(s) Special Summoned by the effect of "De-Fusion", that monster's original ATK and DEF are doubled. You cannot target all monsters Summoned by "De-Fusion". You can banish this card from your GY; add 1 "De-Fusion" from your Deck or GY to your hand. - - - - - NOTES: I know the targeting clauses are a bit weird so lemme explain. Let's say you de-fuse Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. In this case it means you can target up to 2 out of the 3 dragons, but never all 3. You can target any monsters on the field Summoned by De-Fusion so long as you don't target 100% of them. The idea came from Elemental HERO monsters, but there's tons of Fusions out there it can work on, Five-Headed Dragon, Starving Venom, Genesis Dragon, any of the Fallen of Alvas fusions, Metalfoes, Invoked, Shaddolls, etc. Regardless, it is probably better as just a "dump to the GY and search/recycle De Fusion" tool, and the actual effect is only really a huge threat when your Fusion has 3+ materials. This is easier with stuff like Neos Fusion if you really wanna plus off it. I don't know xD I haven't seen De-Fusion used IRL for a while, even in decks that fuse as easily as Elemental HEROes. Besides, the card itself doesn't have much of a cost but it does ask you to do a few steps.... Playing the game, getting materials, getting something like Poly, fusing, using your Fusion since that'd probably be the main goal of the Deck doing that.... Then getting a De-Fusion and this card both in hand, deciding to de-fuse and then this card can independently be live. You know what? the more I think about this the more I think I probably should have made a De-Fusion retrain, not an extra step to its use hahaha.... I believe this is just personal preference mostly, and not something solid against it, but I've never liked effects that simply go and double ATK (and this one even takes it further and doubles DEF). And it's permanent. I've always frowned at Limiter Removal, for instance. Before you jump at my neck, (lol) yeah, I know LR is quite different, with much easier conditions to be fulfilled. The truth is this card makes me a lil' uncomfortable. Build up, it requires, yeah. You double the ATK of a couple of BEWDs and it can easily kill you if it catches you in a bad moment. Being permanent feels like no. And on top of everything, it's Quick Play, so one of your mobs can get seriously smeared against a foe, leaving you in a pretty disadvantageous situation as it's your Battle phase and you only get MP2 to try and rectify things. Sorry Sleepie, don't unleash your revenge on me x_x It's alright, even I acknowledge this is not quite on the vein of the kind of cards I tend to do. Its condition makes it a bit situational and otherwise dead in hand until you get to assemble said situation, and then when you do, it is basically an OTK enabler as its main purpose. My 2 things in mind were "De-Fusion is pretty forgotten so how could I incentivize it?" and "maybe like how Power Bond does it".... Though I do recall I very much not enjoy getting Power Bonded/Limiter Removal (up to x3) Cyber End to the face, doing anywhere from 8000 to 64,000 piercing damage xD Soooo respectable opinion.
