MasterOfMagicians
I, for one, would like to see an advertisements section added onto YCMaker. I understand the need to prevent this from happening as we do not need spam advertisements, porn advertisements, or anything of that nature. I suggest that if an advertisements section were added, that two or three moderators be added to overlook the advertisements section. No post would hit until after a moderator had looked over it (it can be set up as so) and until a moderator approves it. When the moderator approves it, THEN it would show up, guaranteeing no spam threads, no unwanted materials or links, and a way to give the members a chance to advertise their own beginning forum sites, or shops, or their own fan-based website creations. JesusofChaos™
A good idea but moderators cannot always be on so it would be a very slow section and very workload heavy for the mods
cyber dragon fusion
yes very good Idea
Brushfire
Always wanted one, doubt it would happen, but it's a good idea.
MasterOfMagicians
JoC, that's why I suggested 2 or 3 mods, either senior mods (to make sure it stays appropriately moderated) or junior mods (as a right of passage or initiation into mod-hood) to monitor all posts. Yes, workload heavy, and slow, but I think it would benefit the site and its members greatly by adding it.
EliminateHRN
Well I like it and would be cool but I don't think it will ever be added but if it were to be added we need members who stay on ALOT

MasterOfMagicians
I've always had places to advertise in my forums The Ghostlands and The Pokemon Nursery. I always suggest to other forum sites to add advertising sections because signatures are quickly being edited for advertising, and who looks at profiles anymore? There needs to be a section, where posts don't count towards post count, where members can advertise their forums, websites, informational sites, etc.

YCMaker probably doesn't want competition.
MasterOfMagicians
want it or not, he's got it. There are dozens of good Yu-Gi-Oh forum sites out there. The only thing that separates this one from them, is this one has a card maker and those have links to card makers. That's also why the moderators will be monitoring the posts. Anything that doesn't look like a new forum (anything with more less than 500 members can easily be called a new forum) can be deleted and never posted. That way there is no serious competition. SushiTheLegend
Yes well things are difficult right now as it is hard to know who to trust to become a Moderator in the first place.
MasterOfMagicians
Well...give me the position. Not to try and step on any feet here but there are a few reasons why.1) I do spend about 8 hours a day on YCMaker so everyone's posts are sure to get looked at.2) With strict rules placed in the section I will have a reference to go off as to what EXACTLY is acceptable for advertising and what isn't.3) It would only take a few minutes per post to check if its allowed or not and could handle about 75% of all posts per day.4) I may not be the oldest, or the highest post, highest rep, or most loved, but I don't have to be. Or:You could place senior moderators or super moderators here to make sure everything is kept to code, and give junior moderators less important sections of the site to maintain that the skilled moderators have been forced to hold because of lack of moderators. MasterOfMagicians
That is why I have also offered the suggestion of senior moderators handling this, as it can either be made into a very important responsibility, or junior moderators handling this, and it can be a training area for future moderators to take on responsibilities elsewhere on the site.
