You can only use either this card name’s (1) or (2) effect per turn, and only once that turn.
(1) During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; you take damage equal to that monster’s ATK, and if you do, return that monster to the hand.
(2) If this card is in your GY: You can banish 2 or more Link Monsters from your GY whose combined Link Rating equals 4; Special Summon this card from your GY, but banish it if it leaves the field.

The name appears to comes from the banyan fig, plus lance.

Both effects are pretty solid; kinda wish this a little more generic so that you could combo this with Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades, but this was obviously made with Sunavalon in mind.

That said, it seems pretty inefficient for a deck to need to get to Link-4 before getting a consistent way of triggering its main playmakers.

Unless it's meant to work with other stuff (I see Sunavalon being mentioned but I'm not familiar with them), this looks rather weak to me. It's not generic and with the same number of materials you can drop stuff like Apollousa. Then again, it can shine when going second by bouncing something right away and keep up the bounce pressure.
