Phelphor, of the Deep
(Written CaC Single) A monster that becomes a field spell? Drifting Pond Fiend Level 8 DARK Aqua-Type effect monster 2800 ATK & 2300 DEF Effect: (Quick-Effect): While this card is on your hand, you can shuffle this card into your Deck then Draw 1 card. Once per turn you can destroy 1 Field Spell card you control and if you do; this card is placed in your Field Spell Zone and is treated as a Field Spell card. While this card is treated as Field Spell: You can banish 1 monster from your GY to target 1 monster in your opponent's GY and 1 monster your opponent controls; banish that first target, then destroy the second one. Messoras
Hello Godbrand, first of all let me remind you that this is the Advanced Section, which has requirements for the posted cards, meaning: Quote Post balanced and well-designed cards with the intent of making them function in a competitive atmosphere I recommend reading through the PCST Tutorial. Anyhow let's get to the actual card. The first effect (replacing the card in your hand with a random card from your Deck) seems to strong for me. Upstart Goblin is currently limited to 1 because people use it to play 39 card decks. This effect basically means the same, even though you don't thin your Deck. The Special Summoning effect from GY reminds me of Zephyros and regarding what rediculous combos that card can take part in, I'm glad to know this is hard once per turn. I really like the idea of a monster being treated as a Field Spell - It was actually what I first thought of how Pendulums should work and I have experimented with similar effects in Custom Cards too. The ATK boosting effect is a little weird since it takes alot of words but essentially doesn't do much. I prefer short clear effects that interact with other cards in the same archetype or affect card balance somehow. The last effect should not almost do everything inside the cost in my opinion. I'd rather use something like While this card is treated as Field Spell: You can banish 1 monster from your GY to target 1 monster in your opponent's GY and 1 monster your opponent controls; banish that first target, then destroy the second one. The card has to many different effects in my opinion. Special Summoning itself, Placing it in the Field Zone and 1 effect in the Field Zone is definetely enough. The concept wields alot of potential and I'd probably consider making an archetype out of this, rather than just one single. Kind regards, Messoras P.S: What is "CaC"?
