STL1-JP001 竜血公ヴァンパイア Draculea Vampire
Level 8 DARK Zombie Effect Monster
ATK 2800
DEF 2100
You can only use this card name’s (1), (2), and (3) effects once per turn each.
(1) If this card is Normal Summoned: You can target up to 2 monsters in your opponent’s GY; Special Summon them to your field in Defense Position, but their effects are negated.
(2) When a monster effect activates and a monster with the same name as that monster is in either GY (Quick Effect): You can negate that activation.
(3) If a monster is Special Summoned from your opponent’s GY: You can Tribute 2 monsters; Special Summon this card from your GY.

Note: Draculea is apparently another way of spelling Dracula, apparently a way of clarifying “Son of (Duke) Dracule”, much like Ivankov in Russian is “Son of Ivan” in Russian.

I've never really cared much for Vampires, but I like this card specifically because now I've got a good gauge at what Konami thinks is an appropriate power level for Normal Summoning a 2-Tribute monster.

Other than that, kills lots of handtraps, but also stuns decks that try to do the same combo turn after turn.  Last effect makes me wonder if you could/should mix this with Nine-Tailed Fox a little.

What is Konami? a misserable little pile of disapointments.

Cool but not good enough to warrant a spot on Zombie decks (even Vampire exclusives).

Yes. Sorcerer can facilitate its Summoning but Zombie's specialty is being summoned back from Grave, on-Summon effect should have trigger also on SS, even if its has self synergy with 1 and 3 effect, you are giving up 2 monsters to bring him back, you should be rewarded rightfully so.

I am also Curious on how the negation works though, would it be able to negate hand traps, or would another copy be rquired in GY to be able to negate?

I knew that the themes in Selection 10 would have a varying amount of cards, but damn this was the only new Vampire. (I mean yes, I wasn't paying enough attention to the set list, but yeah it is what it is).

Indeed but not good enough IMO, I feel like they were too careful with their restrictions. Summon effect I would argue that could be too powerfull if it apaplied for SS, but would have been cool (if nothing else was buffed). Negation should have been omni, it synergizes with the old vampire gimmick of milling the opponent's deck (Its also nice to punish them for the 3 copies of). And lastly, revival seems a little steep but would be bearable with the at least one of the other buffs

On a more casual note, for some reaosn it bugs me that (some part) the outfit its white.
