Merchantette, Appraisal Apprentice

EARTH / Level 3

Warrior / Tuner / Effect

You can reveal this card in your hand, then declare 1 type of card (Monster, Spell, or Trap); reveal 2 cards in your opponent's hand, and if any of them are of the declared type, Special Summon this card. If this card is in your GY: You can declare 1 type of card (Monster, Spell, or Trap); reveal the top 2 cards of your opponent's Deck, and if any of them are of the declared type, Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field, face-down. You can only use 1 "Merchantette, Appraisal Apprentice" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

ATK 1000 / DEF 500

So yeah, just a small support for Synchro mobs. The artwork was taken from Shadowverse and the inspiration comes from @Gym Leader Viola and her post here ^_^

That is pretty great IMO. Self-Summoning Tuner from hand, and even if it doesn't reveal the entire hand for the effect, it also doesn't just reveal a single useless card. It is a good reveal ratio for the odds and for information gathering.

The second effect sounds pretty good at extending plays. Imagine the seer/excavation decks (convultion of nature, or SPYrals) extending with an extra Isolde material or something. The "banish face-down" condition sounds a bit harsh, but then you remember it doesn't prevent future copies in future turns from kicking in... and it is already a hard OPT to choosing only 1 of the two effects so it isn't a drawback that really means much. I'd still take it over not having it but yeah.

All in all this is a very solid card with a pretty cute art, and I like how it utilizes de "check top of deck" and "look at hand" concepts in the way it does.

Oh, wow, thanks, I didn't expect such a positive review!

Yeah, at the beginning, I thought of leaving the revealing to only 1 per case, but I felt it was pretty limited and the odds rather low for this card to be solid. Now that I think about it, I should have added a "up to 2" instead of 2 so the effect can be used while the opponent only has 1 card in the hand. Anyway, it's exactly as you said, even if you don't get it right, you get some nice info about the opponent's hand, thinking specially of those pesky Ghost girls lying in wait xD. I probably gave it the face-down banishing because I don't know if there are cards that could return this card easily to the GY, but I trust your word. I suppose this card can be fully taken advantage of if you know well what kind of deck you're fighting against, as such knowledge should help you guess the correct type of card.

I like that it has to be exactly 2 cards actually. It is an extra window of "you can play around it but it is risky" that is still not gonna be always doable.
Reminds me of how Nekroz of Trishula can be dodged by having no hand, because unlike the Synchro counterpart of Trishula, this one HAS to banish 1 of each of the 3 places (hand, field, GY). It's a nice feature IMO.

To answer something else, to my understanding: When you have cards banished face-down, your opponent is not allowed to see what they are but you are able to check them any time. However, I don't think you can affect them with cards that say "target a banished spell" or "banished monster" and stuff like that. You can grab them with anything that just says "card(s)". Mainly "Necroface" and "Primal Seed" come to mind.

Sure, it costs nothing; relying on condition. But it's short and sweet. It's a target for Warrior support (like Reinforcement of the Army for example). And because of that Type support and...a not too difficult condition, I say that hard "once per turn" is a must. Especially since you can use her twice before getting banished. It's cute in more ways than one.

Mmm, I get it. In a sense, it will still keep pressuring the opponent to set Spell/Traps they don't want to to set to avoid this card, which should be good.

I went to google Necroface, and damn it, what a radical card, I don't believe it returns all banished cards to the deck simply by being summoned. When I added the face-down banishing clause, I was thinking of Burial from a Different Dimension or Miracle Dig, but I suppose they don't see much use nowadays xD

Thanks for the comment, Nyx! And yeah, definitely Warrior Returning Alive and the card you mentioned could surely take advantage of this card's type for nice combos. You just got to be patient and don't banish her right away if you plan to recycle, it all depends on the current situation. And well... I wanted to give it an effect that had some relation to the piggy, but decided to keep it like it is xD
