Episode 56: Father vs. Son! The End of Exiro Part One!

 

*Duel Spirit World - Tablet of Legend*

 

Steven was examining the Tablet of Legend. He was still bleeding, and he was having trouble standing, but that didn't stop him from trying to help. His time was almost up. There were no duel spirits or humans around, and he was severly injured. Soon enough, he would die, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

 

Steven: I've lived a rough life, but still, I'm glad that I'm going to die on the same day that I avenged the death of my parents. This bleeding, and this pain, I can't take it for much longer. Soon, my body will give out, and I'll die. I have to do what I can to help before that happens.

 

Suddenly, Steven heard footsteps. He turned around and saw an old man, wielding a sword and wearing black clothing, standing behind him.

 

Steven: Who..who are you?

 

Exiro: My name is Exiro. I am known as the Guardian of Worlds. I am the Guardian of your world and this world.

 

Steven: It's an hon..honor to meet you. Why are you..here?

 

Steven kept coughing as he spoke.

 

Exiro: I saw your duel against Celtic Guardian. What you did was impressive, and I want you to know that you've helped to save the world.

 

Steven fell down on his knees. He couldn't stand up; his body was in too much pain.

 

Steven: Than..thank you. However, I don't have much time left.

 

Exiro: I realize this. I can take you to a hospital.

 

Steven: No. If there was any die where I would die, I'm glad it's today. My parents have been avenged and I don't feel useless anymore. My life never had a meaning; I was always trying to become more powerful, and I wasn't thinking of anyone else. That's changed. I've sent Celtic Guardian to the Shadow Realm, and I am too weak to stand up, but I feel as if I'm stronger now than I ever was before.

 

Exiro: Although you will die today, you will always be remembered as a hero. Not only to your parents, but to all living beings. By stopping Celtic Guardian, you've stopped a great destruction from occuring. The only thing left is for Riley to defeat The Dark General.

 

Steven: Celtic Guar...Guardian menti..mentioned something about 6 duels needing to be won before Riley could duel The Dark General.

 

Exiro: That is not true. Celtic Guardian needed 5 black spheres to gain the power he wanted. Thanks to you, he only got 4. Now, I must leave.

 

Steven: Where are you going?

 

Exiro: I have 1 last duel to participate in. If the duel ends the way it should, I will be sent to the Shadow Realm.

 

Steven: But why?

 

Exiro was gone. Steven smiled, and fell to the ground. His cards fell out of his hand, and Diabound Kernel landed on the ground next to him.

 

*Diamond City*

 

Jesse walked over to Shadow.

 

Jesse: Shadow? Are you ok?

 

Shadow didn't say anything, but he did open his eyes.

 

Jesse: You're alright!

 

Shadow: I'm not alright. I'm barely alive. Thanks to you, I managed to leave the Shadow Realm, but I won't be able to survive for much longer.

 

Jesse: Why? What happened?

 

Shadow: My duel with Tyaro had too much of an impact on my body. That wasn't the first Shadow Game I've participated in.

 

Jesse nodded.

 

Jesse: That's right. Your duel with Riley was a Shadow Game.

 

Shadow: That's not what I'm talking about.

 

Jesse: Whatt'ya mean?

 

Shadow: I had participated in many Shadow Games before I dueled Riley.

 

Jesse: Are you serious?

 

Shadow: Completely. That wasn't a new concept for me. I used Shadow Games to obtain power. Once Riley defeated me, I realized that what I was doing was wrong, but there was nothing I could do to save myself. My duel against Tyaro was my final duel.

 

Jesse: You can't just give up! There's gotta be some way to help you.

 

Shadow: There is not. My body has become weak from all of the Shadow Games. Jesse, I'd like to thank you for saving me from the Shadow Realm.

 

Jesse: Thanks, but it wasn't a big deal.

 

Shadow: Jesse, you put your life on the line to rescue me. It's nice to know that I have at least 1 true friend.

 

Jesse: There's got to be something I can do to help him.

 

Shadow: How is Riley doing?

 

Jesse was surprised at Shadow's question.

 

Jesse: I don't know.

 

Shadow: I know that he's in the duel spirit world.

 

Jesse: Say what?!

 

Shadow: Tyaro told me that Riley was sent to the duel spirit world after Andrix won a Triple Duel between Riley, Freed the Dark Wanderer, and himself. Riley wanted to go to the duel spirit world so he could defeat The Dark General.

 

Jesse: Who is The Dark General?

 

Shadow: I figured you wouldn't know. The Dark General is an evil duel spirit that wants to take over the world. The problem is, he's more powerful than any other duel spirit.

 

Jesse: I thought The Wicked Avatar was the most powerful duel spirit.

 

Shadow: The Wicked Avatar was created by The Dark General.

 

Jesse: Wait a minute! The Dark General created the most powerful duel spirit?

 

Shadow: Yes. That means The Dark General is more powerful than The Wicked Avatar.

 

Jesse: If we’re up against an enemy that is stronger than any other enemy, how do we win?

 

Shadow: The only way to stop The Dark General is to defeat him in a duel. Riley is the only one that stands a chance against him.

 

Jesse: Isn’t there some way that we can help Riley?

 

Shadow: The only way to help him is to believe in his ability to win.

 

Jesse nodded.

 

Jesse: Alright then. I know that if Riley tries hard enough, he will be able to take The Dark General down.

 

A dark stream of energy inside Shadow’s body surrounded his left arm. He reached for his left arm.

 

Jesse: What’s wrong?

 

Shadow: I have no idea! It feels like my arm is being crushed!

 

Jesse: This ain’t good.

 

Exiro: Hurry! Get up!

 

Jesse and Shadow turned toward the voice, and noticed there was a person standing near them.

 

Shadow: Who are you?

 

Exiro: My name is Exiro. I am the protector of the duel spirit world and this world. The shadows are starting to destroy your body. We must duel before you are completely destroyed!

 

Shadow stared at the person.

 

Jesse: Why do you want to duel Shadow?

 

Exiro: Shadow is my son, and I must duel him.

 

Jesse: Your son?

 

Shadow’s eyes widened.

 

Shadow: I’ve never met my father or my mother. If you are my father, prove it.

 

Exiro: How would you like me to do that?

 

Shadow: I’d like you to tell me my real name.

 

Exiro: If I remember correctly, your real name is Kyrento Sarishi.

 

Jesse stared at Exiro.

 

Shadow: You are correct.

 

Shadow began to cry.

 

Exiro: I know that you don’t have much longer to live, but before you die, you must defeat me in a duel.

 

Shadow: I don’t think I have enough energy left to duel. Why do I have to duel you?

 

Exiro: You must duel me so that Riley can duel The Dark General. When you defeat me in a Shadow Game, Riley will be able to duel The Dark General.

 

Shadow and Jesse looked surprised.

 

Shadow: I have to send my own father to the Shadow Realm?

 

Exiro: Yes. It must be done.

 

Shadow: There is no way I’m going to do that. I won’t send my own father to the Shadow Realm.

 

It was hard for Jesse to understand what Shadow was saying because Shadow was crying, but he managed to figure out that Shadow didn’t want to duel Exiro.

 

Exiro: You don’t understand. If you don’t defeat me in a duel, there will be no way to stop The Dark General.

 

Jesse: Shadow, I know that this isn’t my business, but I think you should duel. Exiro is willing to spend eternity in the Shadow Realm to save the world!

 

Exiro: There’s a chance that I won’t spend eternity in the Shadow Realm, even if I lose the duel.

 

Jesse: What are you talkin about?

 

Exiro: If Riley is able to defeat The Dark General, it will be possible for Ace, Crystal, Tyaro, and I to be saved from the Shadow Realm.

 

Shadow: I don’t want to duel you, but I know that it must be done. Riley stood up to me when I was evil, and he defeated me. He will be able to defeat The Dark General.

 

Jesse: I thought you said he might not be able to.

 

Shadow: That was before I realized how much was on the line. Riley will win the duel, especially with the lives of his friends on the line. Exiro, I will die soon, but I promise you that I will win this duel before I die.

Rather cliche'. Might be a result of the theme though :?, I will admit this before I leave this section... Until I realized how much this was [umm yeah cant find the word] it did have my attention, so yes this was a good installment ^_^.

[On the last Hidden Legacy: Steven met Exiro, who told him that he was a hero. Shortly after talking to Exiro, Steven died because of the massive amount of damage his body had taken from his duel with Celtic Guardian. Shadow met his father, Exiro, who told him that they had to duel before Shadow died. Shadow must send his father to the Shadow Realm so that Riley can duel The Dark General.]

*Duel Spirit World*

Riley sat up. He saw a person holding a sword standing near him.

Rayori: Riley! You’re awake.

Riley: What do you mean? What happened?

Rayori: I found you here, and saved you from Freed the Dark Wanderer. He tried to destroy you with a ball of dark energy, but I used this blade to send him to the Shadow Realm. The name’s Rayori.

Riley: I’m Riley. The last thing I remember was losing being sent here with Freed the Dark Wanderer. I must have passed out when I arrived here. Thank you for saving me.

Rayori: You’re welcome. I just wanted to help. I met a man named Exiro. He told me that you were going to save the world by dueling The Dark General.

There was an angry look on Riley’s face.

Riley: The Dark General! He’s the one that caused my friend Tyaro to become evil! I’m going to take him down!

Rayori stared at Riley, amazed at his confidence.

Rayori: I really hope you can. I think you should get some rest before you look for The Dark General.

Riley: Sorry, but I’m going to go find The Dark General right now. I don’t want him to destroy anything else!

Rayori smiled.

Rayori: Alright then. I’ll follow you to make sure you don’t get attacked by any duel spirits.

Riley: That’s ok. I have to do this on my own.

Suddenly a large knight, wielding a spear, appeared in front of Rayori.

Riley: What is that?

Rayori: This is Ancient Gear Knight. I dueled him in our world! What are you doing here?

Ancient Gear Knight: I was told to destroy Riley Storm!

Rayori: Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not going to let that happen! Riley, go find The Dark General. I’ll take care of this! [i]My entire life, I’ve had everything handed to me. I’ve never done anything to help save the world. That’s going to change. I’ll defeat this guy and make sure that Riley makes it safely to The Dark General.[/i]

Ancient Gear Knight jumped in the air and tried to hit Rayori with his spear. Rayori jumped up and hit the spear with his blade.

Rayori: Let’s see if you can take me down!

*Diamond City*

Shadow: This will be my last duel, and I intend to give it my all!

Exiro: I can’t let you win, but I believe that you can. Let’s begin.

Shadow: You can make the first move.

Exiro: Alright then. I’ll start by playing Mystery Prism (0/0) in Defense Mode.

A small blue prism with a question mark on it appeared on the field.

Exiro: Next I’ll activate the Field Spell Card Mystery Dimension.

The area became surrounded by different colored question marks.

Shadow: What the?

Exiro: I’ll end my turn.

Shadow: His Mystery Prism has no attack points, but I have a feeling that it has a Special Ability. Luckily, I have this card. I Summon Gil Garth (1800/1200) in Attack Mode.

A tall blue warrior covered in spikes and wielding a large katana appeared on the field.

Shadow: Gil Garth, attack his Mystery Prism with Darkness Crush!
The prism exploded into pixels.

Exiro: Since your Gil Garth destroyed my Mystery Prism, I can activate Mystery Prism’s Special Ability. Thanks to its Special Ability, I can send 1 Mystery monster from my Deck to the Graveyard! I’ll send Mystery Blader (0/0) to the Graveyard.

Shadow: Another monster with no attack points?

Exiro: Yes. You’ve only begun to see the power of the Mystery monsters. Now I’ll activate the effect of my Mystery Dimension! Since Gil Garth destroyed a Mystery monster by battle, I can send a Mystery monster from my Deck to the Graveyard. I’ll send another Mystery Blader (0/0).

Shadow: [i]I know that he’s going to pull off some sort of combo soon enough. There’s no way that he’s using monsters with no attack points without having some type of plan.[/i]

Shadow: I’ll place 1 card face-down and end my turn.

Exiro: Alright. I’ll return the 2 Mystery Blader in my Graveyard to my Deck so I can Special Summon Paladin of Mystery (2400/0).

A tall creature in a blue cloak appeared on the field. The creature was holding a staff, and there was a question mark on its chest. Suddenly, Gil Garth exploded into pixels.

Shadow: What happened to my Gil Garth?

Exiro: I activated the Special Ability of my Mystery Blader. When it is returned from to my Deck from the Graveyard, I can destroy 1 monster on the field.

Shadow: That Paladin has 2400 attack points, and I don’t have anything to defend me from the attack. I know that I have to win this duel, but I don’t think that’s possible right now!

Exiro: Paladin of Mystery, attack his Life Points directly with Mystery Blast!

Shadow was sent flying from the attack.

Shadow’s Life Points: 1600
Exiro’s Life Points: 4000

Shadow: I activate Damage Condenser! By discarding 1 card from my hand, I can Special Summon a monster from my Deck with an attack equal to or less than the amount of damage I took. Say hello to my Dark Red Enchanter (1700/2200)!

A tall creature wearing a red robe with armor on its shoulders appeared on the field. It was holding a staff with an orb at the end of it.

Exiro: That’s an impressive monster, but there’s no way that it can destroy my Paladin of Mystery.

*Duel Spirit World*

The knight’s spear began to glow, and he fired a blast of energy, shaped like the spear, at Rayori. Rayori spun around and slashed the energy with his blade.

Ancient Gear Knight: You won’t defeat me!

Rayori jumped in the air and hit Ancient Gear Knight with his blade. After hitting the knight, Rayori spun around and smashed the blade into the knight’s head.

Rayori: How was that?

The knight exploded into pixels.

Rayori turned around, and noticed that Riley wasn’t there.

Rayori: [i]I hope you defeat The Dark General.[/i]

*Diamond City*

Shadow: We’ll see about that. Are you done?

Exiro: Yes.

Shadow: Alright, here goes! I activate the Spell Card Dark Deity! Now I send the top 5 cards of my Deck to the Graveyard to draw 1 card.

A red orb appeared above Dark Red Enchanter.

Shadow: Dark Red Enchanter gets a Spell Counter each time a Spell Card is activated. Since I just activated Dark Deity, it gets 1! Then, Dark Red Enchanter’s attack increases by 300 for each Spell Counter on it! All I have to do is play 2 more Spell Cards, and I’ll be able to take that Paladin down.

[center][u]Episode 58: Father vs. Son! The End of Exiro Part Three[/u][/center][u]



[On the last Hidden Legacy: Exiro Summoned his Paladin of Mystery, and brought Kyrento’s Life Points down to 1600. However, Kyrento managed to Summon a powerful Spellcaster, named Dark Red Enchanter. Can Dark Red Enchanter help Kyrento win the duel?]

Kyrento’s Dark Red Enchanter stood on the field, ready to attack. Exiro’s Paladin of Mystery stared at Dark Red Enchanter, as if Dark Red Enchanter was its worst enemy.

Exiro: I’ve always wanted the chance to duel you. It’s saddening that this is the last duel either of us will participate in, but I’m glad that my last duel is against my son.

Kyrento: I never got a chance to sit and talk with you. I’ve been alone all of my life. I’m glad that my last duel is against my father.

Jesse: [i]I hope Kyrento is able to win the duel, because the world will be destroyed if he doesn’t win.

Kyrento: Alright, let’s finish this duel.

Exiro: Ok, let’s do this.

Kyrento: I’m going to give my Dark Red Enchanter some more attack points! I Summon Apprentice Magician (400/800) in Defense Mode.

A small magician, wearing clothes similar Dark Magician’s, appeared on the field. It was wielding a small staff.

Kyrento: Since Apprentice Magician was Normal Summoned, I can place a Spell Counter on any monster on the field. I’ll place it on my Dark Red Enchanter.

Another red orb materialized above Dark Red Enchanter.

Kyrento: Now my Dark Red Enchanter gains 300 more attack points!

(2000 + 300 = 2300)

Exiro: That was a good move, but your Dark Red Enchanter still doesn’t have enough attack points to destroy my Paladin.

Kyrento: I know. Now then, I’ll place 1 card face-down and end my turn.

Exiro: Alright, here I go. Paladin of Mystery, attack his Dark Red Enchanter with Mystery Blast!

The Paladin fired a blast of energy at the Dark Red Enchanter.

Kyrento: I play Pitch-Black Power Stone! When this card is activated, I can place a Spell Counter on 1 of my monsters. So, I’ll place a Spell Counter on Dark Red Enchanter. That gives it another 300 attack points!

(2300 + 300 = 2600)

Kyrento: Now, Dark Red Enchanter, destroy his Paladin with Dark Red Blaze!

Exiro smiled.

Dark Red Enchanter released a blast of energy from its staff, destroying the Paladin.

Kyrento’s Life Points: 1600
Exiro’s Life Points: 3800

Suddenly, Exiro began to glow, and his body changed. He now looked a lot younger, and he had 2 swords, one on each arm. He also had wings, and his outfit looked different.

Jesse: [i]Woah...
[/i]
Kyrento: Dad?

Cylix: Thank you very much. Your dueling abilities have released my inner spirit. My name is Cylix. I am the duel spirit form of Exiro. He is the Guardian of Worlds, and I am his inner spirit that gives him strength.

Kyrento: That’s amazing. Well Cylix, I’m not going to lose this duel. I made a promise to my dad, and I intend to keep it.

Cylix: Ok Kyrento. Let’s do this. Are you finished with your turn?

Kyrento: Yes, I am finished.

Cylix looked at the cards in his hand.

Cylix: Here goes! Allow me to show you the power of the Guardian of Worlds! I Summon Cylix (450/0) in Attack Mode!

A warrior that looked exactly like Cylix himself appeared on the field.

Jesse: That creature looks exactly like Cylix!

Kyrento: That card is…

Cylix: Yes, as I said earlier, I am the duel spirit form of Exiro. Your attack gave me the strength I needed to be released. Now then, Cylix has a Special Ability. Once per turn, it can destroy all cards on the field except itself.

The warrior released a beam of dark energy from its swords, and destroyed everything on the field except itself.

Cylix: Now, Cylix, attack with Twilight Blade!

Kyrento’s Life Points: 1150
Cylix’s Life Points: 3800

Cylix: I’ll place 1 card face-down and end my turn.

Kyrento: [i]I have to turn this duel around. I know I can win![/i] Alright, you ready? I Summon Armor Exe (2400/1400) in Attack Mode!

A large rock-like creature appeared on the field. It had golden armor on, and there was a crystal under its neck.

Kyrento: Now, I activate the Spell Card Counter Guard! I can place 1 Spell Counter on my Armor Exe at the cost of 500 Life Points!

Kyrento’s Life Points: 650
Cylix’s Life Points: 3800

Cylix: Your Armor Exe can’t attack during the turn that it’s Summoned, so my Cylix is safe.

Kyrento: Maybe for now, but I have an idea. I’ll place 1 card face-down and end my turn. During your Standby Phase, I’ll remove a counter from Armor Exe to keep it on the field!

Cylix: Ok, I activate the Spell Card Fires of Doomsday! This card gives me 2 Doomsday Tokens!

Two ghost-like creatures appeared on the field.

Cylix: Now, I’ll Release Cylix and my 2 Doomsday Tokens to Special Summon Exiro (1000/0) from my Deck!

A warrior that looked exactly like Exiro appeared on the field.

Kyrento stared at the creature. It looked exactly like his dad.

Kyrento: Was my father a duel spirit as well?

Cylix: Your father was not a duel spirit, but he does have the ability to turn into a duel spirit. That is why there is an Exiro card.

Kyrento: What exactly does the card do?

Cylix: Once per turn, I can destroy all cards on the field except for Exiro!

[i]Jesse: Another destruction effect?[/i]

Kyrento: I don’t think so! I play my Trap Card. Go, Destruction Jammer! I’ll discard Counter Mage from my hand to negate Exiro’s effect and destroy him!

A look of shock appeared on Cylix’s face.

Cylix: [i]He must have thought that I’d use Cylix’s effect again, so he set that card to stop it! Now I have no cards left to use![/i]

Kyrento: Oh yeah, since I discarded Counter Mage, I can place 1 Spell Counter on a monster I control!

A red orb appeared above Armor Exe.

Jesse: Awesome move Kyrento!

Cylix: [i]Everything is working out the way it should, and I’m not even letting him win.[/i]

Kyrento: Since you have no cards on the field or in your hand, I’m assuming your finished! Now then, I’ll make my move. During my Standby Phase, I’ll remove a Spell Counter from Armor Exe to keep it on the field. Now then, I Summon Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands (1400/1000).

A large grey creature with ten thousand hands appeared on the field.

Kyrento’s Life Points: 650
Cylix’s Life Points: 0

Kyrento began to cry once again.

Jesse: [i]This must be really difficult for him. He won the duel, but he lost his dad.[/i]

Cylix: Don’t be sad, Kyrento. If Riley is able to defeat The Dark General, we will all be saved. Thank you for defeating me.

Cylix began to disappear.

Kyrento: I love you dad.

Cylix: I love you too.

Kyrento and Cylix disappeared.

Episode 59: Duel with The Dark General Part One

 

 

 

[On the last Hidden Legacy: Kyrento pulled together all his strength to defeat Cylix in the duel. After the duel ended, Cylix and Kyrento disappeared, and were sent to the Shadow Realm.]

 

The cold winds swept across the grassy area where Riley was walking. He was by himself in the desolate area that was Grass Valley. He was determined to find The Dark General at all costs, and avenge everyone that was hurt by The Dark General's evil forces. His eyes seemed blank; as if he was lost in thought. His dragon-shaped duel disk was glowing, but he didn't notice. He was completely focused on finding and defeating The Dark General. The winds picked up speed, and it was difficult for Riley to walk. He had a feeling that he was close to The Dark General.

 

Riley: Come on Dark General, I'm ready for you.

 

As he continued to walk, he thought about Tyaro. When he had first met Tyaro, he thought that they would end up becoming great friends. Thanks to The Dark General, that wasn't going to happen. Riley didn't care about anything except defeating The Dark General. Suddenly, an image of Ace went through his mind. It was followed by pictures of Crystal, Shadow, Andrix, and two more images of people that he didn't recognize. Suddenly, 6 beams of light crashed into the ground in front of him. The beams of light vanished, and there were 6 cards on the ground.

 

Riley: What's this?

 

He bent down and picked up one of the cards. The card's name was Guardian of Order. He remembered seeing the creature on the card before his duel with Andrix and Freed the Dark Wanderer. He picked up the next card. It's name was Archlord Zerato. He knew it was Crystal's best card. The next 2 cards were Superancient Deepseaking Coelacanth, Ace's best card, and Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness, a card he had never heard of. The last 2 cards were Diabound Colonel and something called Celestial Cylix. As he read the Celestial Cylix card, he realized that it required 2 monsters that he didn't have. How was he supposed to use it? Suddenly, he realized why these cards had appeared. The Dark General had taken the energy of his friends, and the other 2 people, and these cards were sent to Riley so he could use them in his duel with The Dark General. He became more upset when he realized that Ace and Crystal had been used as a way for The Dark General to gain power.

 

Riley: You just wait Dark General. When I find you, I'll destroy you!

 

*Diamond City*

 

Jesse had left the area where Cylix and Kyrento had dueled. He wanted to find out if there was any way he could help Riley. Unfortunately, it seemed the only thing he could do was hope.

 

*Duel Spirit World - Dark General's Location*

 

Dark General: Finally, the time has come for me to take over the world. Once this foolish duelist arrives here, I'll defeat him in a duel and take over the world. There is no duelist or duel spirit that can defeat me in a duel or defeat me in a fight. I am the ultimate being.

 

The Dark General laughed maniacally. The shadows were surrounding him, so it wasn't possible to see what he looked like. There were creatures in the shadows behind him.

 

*Duel Spirit World - Grass Valley*

 

Riley added the cards that he had found to his Deck. Although they didn't go with the Deck's theme, he had a feeling that he should use them. He didn't care if he had a good Deck, he just cared about defeating The Dark General. His friends had suffered enough. Suddenly, he saw a large fish. It was wearing spiky armor, and holding a small staff with a red orb at the top of it.

 

Riley: Who are you?

 

Riley stared angrily at the fish.

 

Gladiator Beast Torax: Thy name is Gladiator Beast Torax. My master wishes to duel you. Follow me into this room, and you can meet my master.

 

Riley: Your master? What is his name?

 

Gladiator Beast Torax: It will all be explained in due time.

 

Riley: Fine.

 

The fish opened a door, and walked into a room. Riley followed. A large creature, completely surrounded by shadows, stood in the room.

 

Gladiator Beast Torax: Master Freed, here is the duelist you wanted to duel.

 

Riley: Master Freed? I thought Freed was sent to the Shadow Realm by Rayori.

 

The large creature laughed.

 

Dark General: What a foolish boy. I am Dark General Freed, the most powerful being in the entire universe.

 

Riley: So you're the one that took the lives of my friends!

 

Dark General: Well, not me. It was my duel spirit army. I see you've met a member of my army.

 

The Dark General pointed toward Gladiator Beast Torax.

 

Riley: Save the explanations! I just want to duel you!

 

The Dark General laughed.

 

Dark General: I don't want to duel you. It's a waste of my time. I'll just destroy you.

 

The Dark General stepped out of the shadows. He was about 6 feet, 7 inches tall. He was wearing armor that was black and gold. His hands looked more like claws. Riley could understand why The Dark General was a feared creature.

 

Riley: You think you can take me out that easily?

 

Dark General: No, boy, I'm sure of it. You're just as weak as the oter duelists that try to save this world. The duel spirits that have tried to take over the world before me have failed because they were weak. I am not weak, and I will be the ruler of both worlds!

 

Riley: I don't think so! If you want to obtain ultimate power, you'll have to take me down first!

 

Dark General: Fine, I'll do that right now.

 

The Dark General formed a ball of dark energy between his hands. He released the ball, and it headed toward Riley.

 

An angel-like creature appeared in front of Riley and stopped the attack with its sword.

 

Dark General: What the?

 

Archlord Zerato: Freed, you will not obtain ultimate power by fighting Riley. You will duel him, and we will make sure of it.

 

Dark General: Who's we?

 

Suddenly, Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness, Diabound Colonel, Celestial Cylix, Guardian of Order, and Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth appeared next to Archlord Zerato.

 

Riley: It's the duel spirits of my friends' cards!

 

Gorz: Freed, if you want power, you'll earn it by dueling.

 

Celestial Cylix: We will make sure that Riley will not be at a disadvantage. Now, begin the duel.

 

Riley nodded.

 

Dark General: I cannot believe that duel spirits inferior to myself were able to stop my attack. I guess I have no other choice. Riley Storm, prepare to have your final duel!

[On the last Hidden Legacy: Riley walked through the desolate Grass Valley and encountered Gladiator Beast Torax, one of The Dark General's servants. Torax brought Riley to The Dark General, who tried to destroy Riley with his dark energy. However, the duel spirits from the cards that Riley found protected him from The Dark General's attack, and told The Dark General that he would have to duel if he wanted to gain the power. Can Riley save the world again?]

Freed: How does it feel to know that you're standing on death's doorstep?

Riley: [i]*I can't let his mind games get to me. I have to stay focused on the main goal, which is destroying Freed.*[/i] I don't know what you're talking about. I always thought that "standing on death's doorstep" meant you were close to dying. I don't think I'm going to die any time soon.

Freed: Your arrogance is annoying. I'll make sure to make you feel true pain during this duel. Don't forget, we're going to have a Shadow Game, so the monsters and the attacks will be real. When you lose Life Points, you lose life.

Riley: I know exactly how a Shadow Game works. Save your lectures for someone that cares. Now, let's throw down!

There was anger in Riley's eyes. He continued to stare at The Dark General. Nothing would stop him from winning the duel.

Freed: I am the ultimate being. I have waited long enough. Soon, I will take over both worlds, and there is nothing you can do about it. [i]*There is an immense amount of hatred in the boy's eyes. If he's blinded by hate, he won't be able to focus on the duel. That only makes it easier for me to win.*[/i]

Riley: [i]*He's taken the souls of my friends. I will avenge all of them.*[/i] Let's duel, Freed!

Freed: As you wish. Why don't you make the first move? I'm interested to see what kind of cards you'll be using.

Riley: It doesn't matter what cards I use! I'll destroy you no matter what! You'll be destroyed before you know it!

Freed: Such a foolish child. You actually think that you can win.

Riley: I dont think I can win, I know it!

Freed: You have confidence, I'll give you that, but you don't have common sense.

Riley: I don't need common sense! All that matters to me is destroying you! Now, I'll make my move! I'll start by Summoning Necro Gardna (600/1000) in Defense Mode.

A creature, protected by red armor appeared on the field. It had long white hair and a fierce look in its eyes.

Riley: Next, I'll play 2 face-downs and end my turn.

Freed: Hmm. A decent move, I suppose. However, I expected something better. No matter, I'll go. I'll start by Summoning Dark Grepher (1700/1600) in Attack Mode.

A large black warrior with white hair appeared on the field. It was wielding a large sword.

*Shadow Realm*

Floating in the eternal darkness that was the Shadow Realm, Andrix was trying to comprehend the situation.

Andrix: [i]*My entire life, I've always lived for dueling and having fun. Sure, I've saved the world a few times, but I never thought something like this would happen. I ended up in the Shadow Realm because I was too overconfident in my abilities. I mean, I don't really take most of my duels seriously, even when the fate of the world is at stake. I always assume that I can win without a problem. That overconfidence usually helps me to stay strong, but all it did this time was get me sent to the Shadow Realm. The only chance I have at getting out of here is if Riley wins the duel. I did my part; the rest is up to him.*

He looked around. There was nothing but darkness. Eternal darnkess.

*Duel Spirit World - Dark General's Location*

Freed: If you think my Dark Grepher is strong now, just wait until you see its Special Ability. See, by discarding 1 DARK monster, I can send 1 DARK monster in my Deck to the Graveyard. So, I'll discard Masked Sorcerer (900/1400) and send Armageddon Knight (1400/1200) from my Deck to the Graveyard. Impressed yet?

Riley: Not even close! I could care less about your monsters! It doesn't matter what you play; I'll win this duel!

Freed: *[i]He continues to be blinded by hatred. He won't be using any strategy. It's obvious that he's not good enough to defeat me.*

Riley look at the cards in his hand.

Riley: [i]*What am I doing? I'm so focused on winning that I'm not playing with any strategy. Freed must have realized this as well. I need to play with as much skill as possible. There's no way I can be overconfident here. I have to take a look at each and every move to make sure I understand everything. If I hadn't realized that I was acting this way, I might have lost the duel. Now, I've managed to come to my senses. However, if I continue to act the same way, I might be able to confuse Freed. If I actually play with strategy, but make it seem like I'm playing with hatred, I can gain an advantage. I care about my friends, and he took them away from me. I will save all of my friends from the Shadow Realm by winning this duel. There's more at stake here than ever before.*[/i]

Freed: [i]*As long as he continues to play with hatred, I've got nothing to worry about.*[/i] I think it's about time I ended this duel. I activate the Spell Card Dark Rebirth. With this, I can Special Summon a DARK monster from my Graveyard and double its attack points. So, I'll Special Summon Masked Sorcerer (900/1400).

A creature with blonde hair and a purple mask appeared on the field.

Freed: Since I Special Summoned Masked Sorcerer with Dark Rebirth, its attack points are doubled!

(900 x 2 = 1800)

Riley: What are you waiting for? Attack!

Freed: In a rush to die, eh? That's fine with me. Dark Grepher, attack his Necro Gardna with Shadow Blade!

The black warrior leapt in the air and slashed Necro Gardna with its sword. The Gardna exploded into pixels.

Freed: Now my Sorcerer, attack his Life Points directly with Dark Blast!

The creature fired a dark blast of energy at Riley. He fell to the ground.

Riley's Life Points: 2200
Freed's Life Points: 4000

Riley: [i]*He was right about the attacks causing you to lose Life. Not only do I feel weaker, but I'm in a lot of pain.*[/i]

Freed: [i]*Why didn't he use the effect of his Necro Gardna when I attacked? He's still blinded by hatred.*[/i] Since my Masked Sorcerer inflicted Battle Damage to your Life Points, I can draw a card.

Riley: I know what it does! Just end your turn already so I can crush you!

Freed: I'm just about done. I'll place a face-down card and end my turn.

Riley: [i]*I think he still thinks I'm dueling with hatred. If that's the case, I might be able to completely wreck him with this next move.*[/i]

Freed: [i]*The face-down card I set is Chaos Burst. If he attacks 1 of my monsters, I can destroy it. It's obvious that he will attack because he's still blinded by hatred.*[/i]

Riley: Alright then. My go! I'll start by activating the Trap Card Limit Reverse! This card allows me to bring back my Necro Gardna (600/1000) in Attack Mode!

The Gardna appeared on the field once again.

Freed: [i]*Ah, that's why he didn't use the effect. He planned on bringing it back with that Trap Card. He's probably going to Release it to Summon a more powerful monster.*

Riley: Now that I got Necro Gardna back, I'll activate my other face-down card! Go, Crush Card Virus! With this, I can Release Necro Gardna and destroy all monsters on your side of the field, in your hand, and that you draw during your next 3 turns that have 1500 or more attack points!

Freed: What?! [i]*There's no way he could execute a move like that!*[/i]

Riley: Still think I'm foolish?

Freed grunted.

Riley: Now, show me all of the cards in your hand!

Freed showed his hand to Riley. In it were the cards Darklord Zerato (2800/2300), Blowback Dragon (2300/1200), and Dimensional Prison.

Riley: Well, you can keep your Dimensional Prison, but I'm afraid you'll have to say goodbye to Zerato, Blowback, Dark Grepher, and Masked Sorcerer!

Freed sent the 4 cards to the Graveyard. He had an angry look on his face.

Riley: I think I'll Set a monster and end my turn.

Freed: Enough playing around! I'm going to end this duel.

Riley: Hold on a second pal! You gotta show me the card you just drew.

Freed grunted again and showed the card to Riley. The card was Metabo Globster (800/300).

Riley: I guess you're safe for now.

Freed: Hear this! I won't lose a duel to a weak human like yourself. I Summon Metabo Globster (800/300) in Attack Mode.

A weird-looking creature with a silver mask appeared on the field.

Freed: I'm finished.

Riley: Alright then! I'll start by Summoning Spear Dragon (1900/0) in Attack Mode!

A blue dragon with white wings and a spear-like nose appeared on the field.

Riley: Next, I play the Spell Card Double Summon. With this, I can Summon another monster during this turn. So, I'll Tribute Spear Dragon and my face-down Necro Gardna to Summon Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth (2800/2200)!

A large blue fish covered with colored gems appeared on the field. It was surrounded by a white glow. The same glow was surrounding Riley.

Freed: [i]*What's with this glow?*[/i] So, you managed to Summon 1 of them.

Riley: What do you mean?

Freed: The Celestial Spirits. Those cards you found. Each card represents 1 of the duelists that were sent to the Shadow Realm. This one represents your friend Ace.

Riley: *The Celestial Spirits. So that's what they're called.*

Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth: Riley Storm, I am Coelacanth, 1 of the Celestial Spirits. I'll do all that I can to help you win this duel.*

Riley nodded.

Riley: Thank you. I'll do all I can to win. Alright, here goes! I activate Mystical Space Typhoon! This card lets me destroy your face-down card.

Freed: Not my Chaos Burst!

Riley: Now I'll give Coelacanth a chance to hurt you. Coelacanth, attack his Metabo Globster with Deepsea Blast!

The large fish fired a blast of blue energy at the Globster, destroying it.

Riley's Life Points: 2200
Freed's Life Points: 2000

Freed: Since you destroyed my Globster, I'm allowed to Summon 3 Globster Tokens (0/0) in Defense Mode.

Three small creatures with silver masks appeared on the field.

Riley: Those creatures are weak! I'll destroy them in no time!

Freed: [i]*I don't understand this. He's still blinded by hatred, as his attitude clearly shows, yet he's actually winning the duel.*[/i]

Riley: I'll end my turn.

Freed: This is the card I drew.

The card was Snipe Hunter (1500/600).

Riley: Since the card has 1500 attack points, it's destroyed.

Freed: I know. I'll place 1 card face-down and end my turn. [i]*Only 1 more turn until his Crush Card Virus is finished.*[/i]

Riley: Alright, since Coelacanth got a chance to attack you, I'll give this guy a chance! I Release Coelacanth to Summon Diabound Kernel (1800/1000).

The large white lizard with a snake for a tail appeared on the field.

Freed: [i]*Another Celestial Spirit?!*[/i]

Diabound: So you're Riley? I'm Diabound Kernel, 1 of the Celestial Spirits. Allow me to assist you in this duel.

Riley: Not a problem! You can assist me by taking out 1 of those tokens. However, I'll activate Cold Wave before that. Thanks to this, niether of us can play Spell or Trap Cards until my next turn. So, Diabound, attack 1 of the Globster Tokens with Venom Slash!

The lizard slashed 1 of the tokens, and it exploded into pixels.

Riley: You can go Freed.

Freed: Heh. This is the last turn for your Crush Card Virus. The card I drew is Premature Burial. Since it's not a monster, I get to keep it. Now, I'll end my turn.

Riley: Alright, my move! I activate the Spell Card Trade-In. With this, I can discard Archlord Zerato (2800/2300) and draw 2 cards!

Freed: That's another Celestial Spirit! Don't tell me you have all of them!

Riley: I don't know how many Celestial Spirits there are, but I know that I have 6 of them!

Freed: So you do have all of them!

A tall creature with wings and a sword appeared behind Riley.

Archlord Zerato: Riley, I am Archlord Zerato. I'm glad to be of assistance to you. Make sure you win this duel.

Riley: I'll make you proud. Diabound, attack another token with Venom Slash!

The lizard slashed another 1 of the tokens.

Riley: I end my turn.

Freed laughed.

Freed: I activate the Spell Card Premature Burial.

Riley's Life Points: 2200
Freed's Life Points: 1200

Freed: By paying 800 Life Points, I can bring Snipe Hunter (1500/600) back from my Graveyard.

A small blue creature, looking almost like a demon, and wielding a small laser gun, appeared on the field.

Freed: Thanks to Snipe Hunter's Special Ability, I can discard 1 card to destroy 1 card on your side of the field. So I'll discard Allure of Darkness and destroy your Diabound!

The blue creature fired a laser at Diabound, destroying it.

Freed: Now, Snipe Hunter, attack his Life Points directly with Laser Blade!

Riley's Life Points: 700
Freed's Life Points: 1200

Riley smiled, and a blast of energy hit his side of the field.

Freed: What the?!

Riley: Say hello to Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness (2700/2500)!

A large creature, wielding 2 blades, appeared on the field.

Freed: No way!

There was a look of fear in Freed's eyes.

Freed: But....but....there's no way!

Riley: Is something wrong?

He smiled.

Riley: When Gorz is Summoned, you take damage equal to the attack points of the monster that just attacked me directly!

Gorz: You won Riley.

Gorz jumped across the field and threw a blade of energy at Freed.

Riley's Life Points: 700
Freed's Life Points: 0
