That means there will be a lot more description.] Episode 43: The Speed – Gyzarus Throughout the history of mankind, there have been evil forces that try to seize control of the world. They don’t care about anything except for power. Usually, there is someone that manages to destroy that evil force. Whether it be by fighting or dueling, that evil force is taken care of. However, ancient legends speak of a creature that was too powerful to be destroyed. Apparently, the creature destroyed millions of people and animals without a second thought. For thousands of years people thought that these legends were untrue, and that they were just stories that people would tell to their friends to scare them. Basically, these stories were believed to be stories used to get a laugh. However, sometimes people don’t sit down and think about the fact that even though they don’t believe an ancient legend, that doesn’t mean the legend isn’t true. Three million years ago there was a war known as the Divine War. The Egyptian Gods engaged in battle with The Wicked Gods. The people on Earth don’t know about this war, and no one had expected them to ever find out. Not everything can be kept a secret though. The Divine War took place in the duel spirit world. Thousands of duel spirits were destroyed in the war, but The Egyptian Gods had managed to win. Now, three million years later, that war might begin again. *Diamond City* The girl had bright blue hair. She was five feet, seven inches tall. She had a pink duel disk on her right arm. Her opponent was a boy with blonde hair, and he was five feet, eight inches tall. They were dueling. The girl had 100 Life Points, and the boy had 3300 Life Points. The boy had a face-down monster on his side of the field, and the girl had four face-down cards on her side of the field. The girl’s name was Crystal Snow, and the boy’s name was Rayori Malix. Rayori: I’ve got this duel won. You only have one hundred Life Points left. There’s no possible way you can win. You’ve had those face-down cards on the field for like three turns, and you still haven’t used any of them. It was Crystal’s turn, so she picked up a card from her Deck. She had 3 cards in her hand. Crystal: Did you ever think that I was saving them something? Rayori: That’s not going to work! Enough playing games! Just end your turn so I can win this duel! Crystal: Sorry dude, but you’re not going to win this duel. I activate one of my face-down cards. Go, Ojama Trio! This nifty Trap Card gives you three Ojama Tokens. However, the Tokens can’t be Tributed for a Tribute Summon. Rayori: So you’re giving me more defense? Thanks. Crystal: I’m not finished yet. I Special Summon Gilasaurus (1400/400) from my hand. Next up, I’m activating the Spell Card Big Evolution Pill! By sending my Gilasaurus to the Graveyard, I can Normal Summon any Dinosaur-Type monsters without Tributing for the next three turns! So, up next, my Ultimate Tyranno (3000/2200)! The small dinosaur was removed from the field, and a large dinosaur with a lot of spikes appeared in its place. Rayori: That’s an impressive monster, but there’s no way you can win with it! My face-down monster is Prism Phantom. When she attacks it, her Ultimate Tyranno will be destroyed thanks to its Flip Effect. This duel is as good as over. Crystal: Ok then! I’m going to activate another one of my face-down cards! Go, Final Attack Orders! This card changes all face-up monsters on the field to Attack Mode! Rayori: That means all three Ojama Tokens are changed to Attack Mode! Crystal: Yep! So, Ultimate Tyranno, attack the Ojama Yellow Token with Prehistoric Blast! The large dinosaur fires a blast of wind at the Ojama Token, and it is destroyed. Rayori’s Life Points: 300Crystal’s Life Points: 100 Rayori: Impressive move. Since I’m going to win anyway, I’ll tell you what my face-down monster is. It’s Prism Phantom. During my next Main Phase, I’ll flip Prism Phantom face-up, and its Flip Effect will activate, destroying your Ultimate Tyranno. Crystal: You’re like my friend Riley. Rayori: What do you mean? Crystal: He’s very overconfident, and you are very overconfident. Rayori: I’m not overconfident! I’m just stating the truth! Crystal: The truth is, this duel is over. When an Ojama Token is destroyed, its controller takes three hundred points of damage! Rayori: No way! That means I lose. Crystal winks at him, then smiles. Crystal: I told you I’d win. Rayori: She’s right. I was way too overconfident. If I had taken time to realize that she was setting up for a combo, I might have been able to stop her from winning. But all I did was Summon strong monsters and attack. I didn’t use a strategy. I thought she’d be an easy opponent. Duel Tower Contest Official: Ladies and Gentleman, we have a winner! The winner of this week’s Duel Tower Challenge is Diamond City’s own, Crystal Snow! For weeks she had been trying to win one of these challenges, and now she had finally done it. Crystal had to defeat 20 duelists in a row, and she did it. Duelist: Crystal, please make your way to the stage so you can have the prize! Crystal walked up to the stage. The Duel Tower Contest Official handed her a card. The card was in a plastic case, probably so it wouldn’t get ruined. The card was the one card she wanted. Crystal: I finally obtained it. Super Conductor Tyranno. The most powerful Dinosaur-Type monster in the game. I think I’m ready to meet up with Riley and Ace again. Thank you for the prize! Crystal left the Duel Tower, and the crowd cheered. *Duel Spirit World* The shadows were stirring. It was almost time for the creature’s rule to begin. I don't necessarily like one style or the other better, but I think you should write the way that is most comfortable for you. Btw i think the theme song is a lil long. You should try to find something not much more than a minute. However, I'll have to agree with Browarod. The descriptions feel forced somewhat, just listing what people look like. They still don't do much. The first time we dueled, he was focused on having fun, but the second time he was only focused on winning. I will find him and try to figure out what the situation is.[/i] It was seven pm, and it was getting dark out. Riley figured that he'd find somewhere to stay for the night, and continue looking for Tyaro in the morning. However, things don't always work out the way people expect them to. Riley heard footsteps. He knew someone, or something, was coming, but he wasn't sure exactly who, or what, it was. -Who's there? There was no reply. Suddenly, the noise of footsteps could no longer be heard. Riley looked around. He didn't see anyone. -I'm not interrupting anything, am I kid? Riley froze. He turned around and saw a man standing a couple feet away from him. -Who are you? -The name's Shroud. I'm what you'd call a recruiter. I'm going around looking for duelists to join the darkness. -Well, I'm not joining any darkness, so be on your way! Shroud laughed for a moment, then he began to speak. -That's not how it works, kid. We're going to duel, and when I win, you'll be sent to the shadow realm, unless you want to join the darkness. -If it's a duel you want, it's a duel you're gonna get! -Hold on a second! Riley and Shroud looked toward the direction where the voice had come from. Standing there, was Zane Truesdale. -How nice to see you again, Shroud. -Z..Zane? What do you want? -Hey, wait a minute. You're Zane Truesdale? The proffessional duelist? I'm Riley. I've seen some of your duels on tv! -Yes, I'm Zane Truesdale. Riley, please move out of the way. Shroud and I have some business to take care of. -What are you talking about? -You know what I'm talking about Shroud! We're going to duel! Shroud laughed once again. Then he grinned and activated his duel disk. Duel! -I'll make the first move. I summon Singularity Fiend (0/0) in attack mode. Next, I'll activate the Spell Card Singularity Darkness. Zane waited for a moment, and shifted toward Riley. -About three years ago, Shroud took me to a place where I took part in an Underground Duel. Those duels are nothing like regular duels, because they inflict massive amounts of pain to a duelist whenever they lose Life Points. -Two years later, my heart gave out because of all the pain from the Underground Duels. Now, I travel around the world to participate in tournaments. While I was here in Diamond City, I talked to Jim Cook. He told me some information that involved you. -Involved me? -Yes. About four months ago you dueled Shadow in the duel spirit world, and saved the world. Now, you have to save the world again. -Save the world from what? -Many years ago, there was a creature in that was created in the Duel Spirit World. This creature destroyed many duel spirits. The creature has been created again. However, it is coming to earth this time. -That's why I'm here. I was trying to find you so I could tell you this information. When I saw Shroud, I began to follow him. He wants to join the darkness, and I'm not going to stand around and let that happen. Shroud laughed. -Zane, you don't have a choice. You can't win this duel because your Spell Cards are useless! -I don't need Spell Cards to defeat the likes of you. -What do you mean? -Check this out! I'll fuse my Cyber Dragon with my Armored Cybern to form Cyber Armor Dragon (2100/1600)! You see, I can decrease the attack points of my Cyber Armor Dragon by one thousand points to destroy one card on your side of the field! Cyber Armor Dragon, destroy his face-down card with Judgment Blaster! The dragon fired a blast at the face-down card, and it exploded. -My face-down card was Dark Barrier. During the turn it's destroyed, you can't activate any Spell or Trap Cards. -That's fine! Now, I'll decrease Cyber Armor Dragon's attack again and destroy your Singularity Darkness! -Time to finish this duel! I discard my Fusion Dragon (0/0) to activate it's effect! I'm allowed to Fusion Summon a monster! I'll send the two Cyber Dragons in my hand, and the Cyber Dragon on my side of the field, to the Graveyard and Fusion Summon Cyber End Dragon (4000/2800)! -He Fusion Summoned a monster without using Spell or Trap Cards! -Cyber End Dragon, attack Singularity Fiend with Triple Strident Blast! The dragon fired a huge blast at the fiend, destroying it, and giving Zane the win. Zane's Life Points: 4000 Shroud's Life Points: 0 Shroud stared at Zane and laughed. -Thank you Zane. -For what? -That duel gave the Dark General enough time to finish being completed! Parting Shot Posted June 16, 2008 Report Share Posted June 16, 2008 Well, I liked the story in this one, but the duel seemed a little too convenient (even for YGO :P). Also, with just the hyphens to denote speech, it was hard to figure out who was saying which lines, especially when you had one person's speech carried over onto a new hyphen. I think I liked it better when you just did "Name: Speech" since it was easy to see who was talking. Maybe it's just me, idk. Attack of the Botanical Lion! [On the last Hidden Legacy: Riley ran into a duelist named Shroud. He told Riley that he wanted him to join the darkness. As Riley prepared to duel Shroud, Zane Truesdale showed up and told Riley that Shroud and himself had some unfinished business. Shroud thought he would could defeat Zane by negating all of Zane's Spell Cards (that way Zane wouldn't be able to Summon Fusion Monsters), but Zane used a card called Fusion Dragon to Summon Cyber End Dragon, and destroyed Shroud's Singularity Fiend to win the duel. After the duel ended, Shroud informed Zane that the duel had given the Dark General enough time to be created. This can't be good.] Zane looked at Shroud for a moment, then turned his attention toward Riley. Zane: Don't let your guard down. He could be making this up, but we should be careful either way. Riley nodded. Riley: I'm not worried about this Dark General! I'm actually quite glad that the Dark General has been created. Zane: What are you talking about? Riley: About a week ago, I met a duelist named Tyaro. We became friends. Then, about three days ago, Tyaro challenged me to a duel. However, he wasn't using the same cards that he used in our first duel, and he wasn't acting the same way. I want to find whoever is responsible for making Tyaro become evil and defeat them! Zane: Interesting. This kid reminds me of Jaden in some ways. Riley, I respect what you want to do for your friend, but this Dark General might be too powerful for you to defeat on your own. Shroud laughed again. Shroud: The Dark General will easily defeat both of you. There's no human in this world that can defeat the Dark General. Soon enough, the world will be ruled by the Dark General! Suddenly, Shroud became shadows and formed an orb. He wasn't a human anymore, he was an orb of shadows. Zane didn't look suprised at all, but Riley did. Riley: Zane, what happened? Zane: I'm not completely sure, but I think this has something to do with the Dark General that Shroud mentioned. Riley: So, Shroud is an orb now? Zane: Yes. I don't think he will ever be a human again. Riley looked at the orb. It was about the size of a lemon. He didn't understand what had happened, but he knew that something bad was going to happen soon. Riley: Zane, what should we do? Zane waited for a moment, then spoke. Zane: We should go find your friend Tyaro. Riley: Why? Zane: He might know something about the Dark General. Where was the last place that you saw him? Riley: I saw him near the Diamond City Card Shop. After our duel, he walked down the street and into the Card Shop. Zane: Hmm.... Riley: Ok, so let's get going Zane! Riley walks down the street, and Zane walks next to him. Suddenly, they are stopped by what looks like a duel spirit. ???: You're not going anywhere. Riley: What the? Zane: Watch out Riley, this duel spirit could be dangerous. ???: I am Freed the Dark Wanderer. I am a duel spirit that works for the Dark General. I was told to duel Riley Storm and defeat him. Riley: Why me? Zane: What does the Dark General want with Riley? Freed the Dark Wanderer: Riley, I have to duel you because you were one of the humans that went to the duel spirit world. I have to defeat all of the humans that went to the duel spirit world. Zane: The duel spirit world? When did Riley go there? Freed the Dark Wanderer began walking toward Riley. Freed the Dark Wanderer: Now, we will go duel. Riley stared at Freed. He wasn't scared. This was his chance to defeat the evil that caused Tyaro to become evil. Freed the Dark Wanderer: What a naive boy. You don't look scared at all. Riley: That's because I have no reason to be. Freed the Dark Wanderer: I am the strongest duel spirit there is except for the Dark General. I was told to defeat all 7 of the duelists that went to the duel spirit world, and I will do that. As Freed went to activate his duel disk, a huge beam of light hit him. He was hurt, but not much. Freed the Dark Wanderer: What is this? There was a duelist, about 17 years old, standing about 10 feet away from Riley and Freed. ???: The name's Andrix. I'll save you the trouble of introducing yourself. Freed the Dark Wanderer: Andrix? I've heard of you. Andrix: Yeah, and I'm one of the seven duelists that you're supposed to defeat, no? Freed the Dark Wanderer: Yes you are. What are you doing here? Andrix: I'm here to duel you! Freed the Dark Wanderer: Sorry to dissapoint you, but I'm about to duel Riley. Your destruction will have to wait. Andrix: I don't think so! I'm going to duel you first! Riley remembered Andrix. He had dueled him in the duel spirit world. Riley: Andrix! Why do you want to duel Freed? Andrix looked at Riley. Andrix: I wasn't helpful in the duel spirit world. I want to help out here! Freed laughed. Freed the Dark Wanderer: How nice. He wants to help out his friends. I've got a better idea. We can have a triple duel. If Riley wins, then Andrix and I will be sent to the duel spirit world. If I win, then both of you will be sent to the Shadow Realm, and if Andrix wins, then Riley will be sent to the duel spirit world. Riley was angry. There was no winning in this situation. Riley: I don't accept this challenge because it's not fair! Andrix activated his duel disk. Andrix: Riley, you have to win this duel! I don't care if I get sent to the duel spirit world! We have to save the world! Riley: But Andrix.... Andrix: There's no other choice! Let's do this! Freed laughed again. Freed the Dark Wanderer: This duel will be interesting. Andrix drew a card. Andrix: I will make the first move! We have to end this duel as soon as possible! I set a monster face-down and end my turn! Freed drew a card. Freed the Dark Wanderer: My move next. I Summon Obsidian Dragon (800/2100) in Defense Position. Then, I'll play one card face-down. Riley looked at Freed, and drew a card from his Deck. Riley: Andrix, I won't let you be sent to the duel spirit world! You have to win this duel! I'm going to try my best to win, but you have to make sure you win! Andrix: I understand. You don't want to let me win. Riley, if I win, Freed will stay in this world, and you will be sent to the duel spirit world. Riley: Exactly. That's what I want! Freed the Dark Wanderer: What? Andrix: Huh? Freed the Dark Wanderer: You want to go to the duel spirit world? Riley: Yes! I want to do this because I am going to find the Dark General and defeat him before he comes to this world! Andrix: Riley, let me go duel the Dark General. Riley: I understand that you want to help. You can do that by winning this duel! Andrix and Riley stared at each other for a moment. They both knew what had to be done. Freed the Dark Wanderer: You don't need to worry about it, because I'll win this duel. Riley: Don't be so sure! Check this out! I activate the Spell Card Future Fusion! I'll use this card to send Spear Dragon (1900/0) and Necro Gardna (600/1000) from my Deck to the Graveyard! Now, I'm allowed to Summon a Fusion Monster. I have to wait two turns though. Freed the Dark Wanderer: I'll win this duel before you Summon your monster. Andrix looked at one of the cards in his hand. The card was a LIGHT monster with 3000 attack points and 2600 defense points. The face-down monster that Andrix had on his side of the field would let Andrix send 3 cards from his Deck to the Graveyard when it was flipped face-up. Next Time: The Mysterious Nathaniel! It was incredibly noticeable. He was talking more boldly than he was before, and he was staring at Freed as if he was his worst enemy. Riley: Get ready to lose! I discard Dandylion (300/300) from my hand to Special Summon The Tricky (2000/1200) in Attack Mode! Then, because Dandylion was sent to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon 2 Fluff Tokens (0/0) in Defense Mode! I'm still not done yet! I discard Thunder Dragon (1600/1500) to add 2 Thunder Dragon from my Deck to my hand! Next up, Polymerization! I'll fuse the 2 Thunder Dragons in my hand to Summon Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon (2800/2100)! Now, The Tricky, attack Obsidian Dragon with Wind Blast! Oh yeah, and from my hand, I'll activate the Quick-Play Spell Battle Fusion! This card increases The Tricky's attack by the attack of your Obsidian Dragon! (2000 + 800 = 2800) The Tricky fired a blast of wind at the Rock-like Dragon, and the Dragon exploded. Freed's Life Points: 2000 Riley's Life Points: 4000 Andrix's Life Points: 4000 Andrix: That's incredible! Freed: How is this possible? Riley: Don't mess with my friends! I'm not going to let you win, and I don't want you to let me win. We have to try our best. Andrix smiled for a moment. Andrix: Riley, you're a great duelist. I'll win this duel and help you save the world. Riley: I'll end my turn. Andrix: Ok, here goes nothing! I Flip Summon my face-down monster. Andrix flipped the card into Attack Position, and a large blue warrior appeared on the field. Andrix: My face-down monster was Chaos Mech (300/100). When Chaos Mech is Flip Summoned, I can send 3 cards from my Deck to the Graveyard. Andrix looked through his Deck, selected 3 cards, and placed them in the Graveyard. Andrix: Now I'll release Chaos Mech to Summon Majestic Mech - Ohka (2400/1400). Next, I'll remove from play the Majestic Blader (400/1700) in my Graveyard from play to double Ohka's Attack until the End Phase of this turn! (2400 x 2 = 4800) Riley: So, you sent Majestic Blader to the Graveyard so you could use its effect. That's a good strategy. Andrix: Thank you! Now, Majestic Mech - Ohka, attack The Tricky with Luminous Wing! The large, beast-like mech flew toward The Tricky and hit The Tricky with its wing. Riley put his hand in front of his face to shield himself from the attack. Riley's Life Points: 1200 Andrix's Life Points: 4000 Andrix: Now I'll play one card face-down and end my turn. Riley: Your move was good, but it wasn't enough to defeat me! I activate Makiu! Now, all monsters on your side of the field with Defense Points lower than the Defense Points of my Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon are destroyed. Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon fired a blast of thunder at Ohka. The beast-like mech exploded. Riley: Since I used Makiu, I can't attack during this turn, so I'll end my turn. Andrix: Alright, I'll start by activating my face-down card, Limit Reverse! With this card, I can Special Summon 1 monster from my Graveyard with an Attack of 1000 or less! I Summon Majestic Mech - Senku (1000/500). A warrior-like mech appeared on the field. Andrix: Now I'll release Majestic Mech - Senku to Summon Majestic Mech - Goryu (2900/1800)! Riley: Sorry to disappoint you, but Goryu is a Level 8 monster. You have to Release 2 monsters to Summon a Level 8 monster. Andrix: Normally I'd have to Release 2 monsters. However, I can Summon Goryu by Releasing 1 monster. If I do that, Goryu is destroyed during the End Phase of this turn! Riley: What a powerful effect. Andrix: Now, I'll remove from play Majestic Blader (300/100) in my Graveyard to double the Attack of my Majestic Mech - Goryu until the End Phase of this turn! Riley smiled. He knew that the duel was over. (2900 x 2 = 5800) Andrix: Majestic Mech - Goryu, attack his Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon with Shining Blade! Goryu created a beam of light, and threw it at the Dragon. Riley's Life Points: 0 Andrix"s Life Points: 4000 Zane: Riley lost the duel. That's interesting. All of the sudden, Riley and Freed were surrounded by shadows. Then, they disappeared. Andrix: [i]Be careful, Riley.[/i] *Duel Spirit World* ???: Let's see. There's the Heir of the Tormentor, the Eye of the Tormentor, and the Daughter of the Tormentor. I have all 3 of those cards. For some reason, I can't get any power from the cards. This is ridiculous. Maybe The Wicked Avatar was wrong. Riley was unconscious on the ground. A person saw him. ???: What the? The person fell to the ground, and dropped all 3 of the cards he was holding. Riley regained consciousness. He saw a person on the ground near him. He also saw 3 cards on the ground. Riley looked at the cards. Riley: Heir of the Tormentor? Eye of the Tormentor? Daughter of the Tormentor? What are these cards? They probably belong to the person on the ground over there. I'll put them in my pocket for now. Riley placed all 3 cards in his pocket. A large blast of dark energy was headed toward Riley. A light came out of his pocket and surrounded the blast. The blast was destroyed. Riley: These cards just saved my life. These aren't regular duel monsters cards. ???: Prepare...to...duel. The person on the ground near Riley began stood up.
