Egyptian God Cards: Discussion

If the Egyptian God Cards were playable, how useful would they be?

  1. 1. If the Egyptian God Cards were playable, how useful would they be?

    • They'd own!
    • Specialized decks might be able to play them.
    • They're almost unplayable, but Peter Chi Chung Cho or someone might be able to pull off using them.
    • No way. Totally unusable.

Obilisk takes forever to get out' date=' and while your trying so depratly to get three monsters oput, your opponent will catch on pretty quick and will build up their defenses while trapholing anything you bring out or something comparable. Oncwe he hits the field, you won't even have two monsters to tribute, not that you opponent wouldn't have a defense ready to stop any onslaught.

Slifer and ra suffer from the same difficulties. Slifer's attack is constantly changing, making it easy to destroy.

Also, ground collapse

Premature Disk Commander, draw 2 cards, play Inferno Reckless Summon, summon God Card of choice. Done.

Awesome. All we need now is 3 Disk Commander in our deck.

Eh. Semilimit. Still, point is, Inferno Reckless Summon *might* make the Gods halfway usable in tourney play.

Eh. Semilimit.

Semi is a joke. Can you name 1 card that is better at 2 than 3, 1, or 0 in a proper list?

obelisk: most practical and attack is stable, he would be banned.

slifer: too dependent on the hand, semi limited...

ra: too easy to make his atk and def low, and his effects are a serious hit on your lp.. limited...

Wrong. If they use the game effects, they should all be Unlimited.

And never say that a card should be Semi without providing SERIOUS LOLGIC.

The only time it would make sense to Semi a card is if it combo'd with 2 copies of itself. Like if Volcanic Scattershot somehow became a severe threat.

Grinder Golem OTK semi'd Necroface. (On the other hand, Necroface would be ok at 1.)

I believe the god cards would dominate.

1) I don't believe they would be banned simply because of the fact it takes 3 monsters to bring them out. Ra's power would probably be the one reduced the most to keep legal, followed by obelisk (would probably not let him attack the turn its effect is activated).

2) They are completely protected against trap cards, destruction and equip spell cards, and cards that switch them from player to player once on the field. The only spell cards that effect them are rebirth spell cards and only for 1 turn.

3) They are completely protected against monster effects.

Those are just my two cents though.

1. Obelisk already can't attack on the turn his effect is activated, it's 4000 points of direct damage. I get your point, though.

2. They can be destroyed as a result of battle, and can't be revived. But you're right in saying they can only be summoned by the original owner.

3. Sound.

God Cards in the TCG = Great

God Cards in the TCG in this format = This.

Another sign of how much today's meta sucks.

Necroface should be at 1, not 2.

Guest Star

The anime is the only source for the God Card effects.

Welcome to every GBA/DS/whatever YGO game ever made.

You're saying Sacred Cards is an acceptable source? Read the Des Volstgalph effect.

WC08 has them.

1. The game effects are watered down enough.

2. Wrong on (almost) all accounts. There are non-targeting Traps that can destroy them. Creature Swap doesn't target, if I remember correctly.

3. Wrong.

God cards will not dominate. They won't even put a dent in the meta.
