Cyber Ogre Archetype [WRITTEN]

Hello, fine peoples!

Inspired by The Old Charletot's Cyber Barrier/Laser Support thread, I thought it'd be nice to show some love to (one of) the other "Cyber" themes from GX.

Like Cyber Dragon, the base of this archetype will revolve around the titular "Cyber Ogre", but all the monsters will share its name in hand/on field (rather than on field/in grave).

Like CyDras, Cyber Ogres are aggressive, but their style isn't as straightforward. They focus on buffing themselves and then using the excess ATK to inflict massive amounts of burn damage. Mimicking CyDras' secondary control playstyle (via CyDra Infinity), these also try to control the board with their partially generic fusion materials.

Without further ado, onto the cards!

Main Deck monsters:

Quote

Cyber Gremlin

WIND *

Machine/Effect

This card's name becomes "Cyber Ogre" in the hand and on the field. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Cyber Ogre" from your hand, and if you do, it gains 300 ATK and this card gains ATK equal to the Summoned monster's ATK until the End Phase. Once per turn: You can Fusion Summon 1 monster using any number of "Cyber Ogre" in your hand or on your side of the field as Fusion Materials.

300/200

Cyber Hobgoblin

DARK **

Machine/Effect

This card's name becomes "Cyber Ogre" in the hand and on the field. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Cyber" Spell/Trap from your GY to your hand. If you control a "Cyber Ogre" with more ATK than its original ATK, you can use monsters your opponent controls as Fusion Material as though you control them.

500/1400

Cyber Troll

WATER ***

Machine/Effect

This card's name becomes "Cyber Ogre" in the hand and on the field. Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Cyber Ogre"; double this card’s ATK until the End Phase of the next turn, but any battle damage it inflicts is halved. If this card is sent to the GY by a card effect: You can target 1 "Cyber Ogre" you control; double its ATK until the End Phase.

1400/1000

Cyber Orc

FIRE ****

Machine/Effect

This card's name becomes "Cyber Ogre" in the hand and on the field. If you control a monster whose ATK is greater than its original ATK, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can target 1 "Cyber Ogre" you control whose ATK is greater than its original ATK; inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between its original and current ATK, and if you do, its ATK becomes its original ATK. You can only use this effect of "Cyber Orc" once per turn.

1800/200

Cyber Giant

LIGHT ****

Machine/Effect

This card's name becomes "Cyber Ogre" in the hand and on the field. When this card battles: Destroy it at the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn, if this card’s ATK is greater than its original ATK: You can Fusion Summon 1 Machine monster using this card and monsters either player controls with ATK less than or equal to this monster's as Fusion Materials.

Cyber Ogre - Magog

FIRE 6*

2200/1500

Cyber Tetrogre

EARTH 9*

2+ "Cyber Ogre"

This card gains 400 ATK for each Fusion Material. This card cannot declare an attack. Cyber Art - R.A.M.P.A.G.E.

Spell

Target 1 Machine monster you control; destroy a number of cards your opponent controls equal to the number of Machine monsters you control with the same name as the target, then take 500 damage for each card destroyed.

Trap

Target 1 "Cyber Ogre" you control with ATK greater than its original ATK; destroy all monsters whose original ATK is less than or equal to the difference between the target's original and current ATK, then inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each monster destroyed. The target cannot attack this turn.

Cyber Art - A.S.S.E.M.B.L.Y

Trap

If your opponent controls a monster(s) and you control no monsters: You can activate this card from your hand. Special Summon any number of "Cyber Ogres" from your hand with different original names. Their total ATKs become the combined original ATK of all monsters Summoned by this effect, but they cannot attack.

Cyber Folklore

Quick-Play Spell

Add 1 "Cyber Ogre" from your Deck or GY to your hand, then you can target 1 monster you control whose ATK is greater than its original ATK; inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference, then its ATK becomes its original ATK.

Cyber Legacy Fusion

Quick-Play Spell

Fusion Summon 1 Machine monster using monsters from your hand or field as Fusion Materials. If you use the following monsters, gain the appropriate effect.

- "Cyber Dragon": You can also banish 1 monster from either GY as Fusion Material.

- "Cyber Ogre": You can also use 1 monster your opponent controls as Fusion Material.

Destroy the Fusion Summoned monster during your next End Phase. You can only activate 1 "Cyber Legacy Fusion" per turn.

Cyber Dojo

Field Spell

All "Cyber" Machine monsters and Machine Fusion monsters gain 500 ATK. Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 Machine monster from your hand or GY with the same name as 1 Machine monster you control, but it cannot attack this turn.

This is a bit more of a showcase than an actual thought-out archetype, so certain things may be wildly off-balance. If you notice anything, feel free to let me know!

Cheers!
