You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; Destroy this card, and if you do, that target's ATK and DEF become 0. You can only use this effect of "Formula 1 Williams FW43" once per turn. M: If you control a Level 6 or higher "Formula 1" monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can declare a Level from 1 to 8; This card becomes that Level, until the end of this turn. Cannot be used as Synchro or Xyz Material, except for the Summon of a "Formula 1" monster. Last year's F1 cards had effectively two playstyles: An offensive Deck with high swarm and OTK capabilities, and a slower, anti-meta control variant with lots of negations. For 2020, the control variant is ditched entirely for an all-out offensive approach. The objective here is to swarm the field and get a big board as soon as possible, and attempt to destroy your opponent in as few turns as possible. Many of the Main Deck monsters can Special Summon themselves to aid in this goal. The Pendulum Effects are mostly focused on searching out monsters, but a few of them are also packing disruption effects similar to the old control-focused 2019 cards. You might have noticed that Renault is a Link Monster, the first F1 Link Monster in fact. This was literally made just so the Deck can work under Master Rule 4, despite being designed primarily with Master Rule 5 in mind, and also because I just wanted to use the Link template I have. Mercedes is still the true boss of the Deck, and since it can Xyz Summon itself from the Pendulum Zone, only one copy is ever needed. Ferrari's low stats for a Level 8 are compensated by its Summon effect, you want to get it on the field that way. And Alpha Tauri gives them a hand trap, because why not.
