Tinkerer
Hello, fine peoples! I came up with an idea for an archetype and, for once, I actually made it to completion! On the whole, this isn't really a "new" concept, but it's more of a reimagining of a strategy that Konami's tried a couple times. I wanted to explore it in a way that could help allow it to be used somewhat competitively. The prompt is simple: An archetype of Rock monsters that have fairly unimpressive effects, but gain powerful secondary quick effects if they're coupled with their Quick-Play Spell "Prysmic White Light". (Conceptually, think Koaki Mieru or Toons except, you know, better. Hopefully.) With all that out of the way, let's start off with the core card: Prysmic White Light Quick-Play Spell Pay 500 LP. You can return this card to your hand instead of sending it to your GY. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Prysmic" card from your Deck to your hand except "Prysmic White Light". You can only activate 3 "Prysmic White Light" per turn. Monsters (5) Prysmic Rath FIRE ** Rock/Tuner/Effect If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower Rock monster from your hand. (Quick Effect): You can return 1 "Prysmic White Light" you control to your hand and target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target and inflict 500 damage to your opponent. If you activate this effect 2 or more times this turn, destroy this card. 1100/200 Prysmic Ornery EARTH **** Rock/Effect If this card is Normal Summoned: You can discard 1 "Prysmic" card, then target 1 "Prysmic" card in your GY; add that target to your hand. (Quick Effect): You can return 1 "Prysmic White Light" you control to your hand; Special Summon 1 "Prysmic" monster from your Deck in defense position, but it cannot activate it effects this turn. You can only activate this effect of "Prysmic Ornery" once per turn. 1300/1900 Prysmic Yearn LIGHT 6* Rock/Effect If you control "Prysmic White Light" (Quick Effect): You can reveal this card in your hand and pay 500 LP; Special Summon this card. You can only Special Summon 1 "Prysmic Yearn" per turn. If this card is Special Summoned: You can send 1 Rock monster and/or 1 "Prysmic" card from your Deck to the GY. (Quick Effect): You can return 1 "Prysmic White Light" you control to your hand and target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; negate that target's effects until the End Phase. If you negated the effects of a monster by this effect, gain LP equal to half that monster's ATK. If you activate this effect 2 or more times this turn, destroy this card. 2200/700 Prysmic Greedy WIND ** Rock/Tuner/Effect If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can shuffle 4 Rock monsters and/or "Prysmic" cards from your GY into your Deck; draw 2 cards. You can only activate this effect of "Prysmic Greedy" once per turn. (Quick Effect): You can return 1 "Prysmic White Light" you control to your hand and target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; shuffle that target into the Deck, and if you do, gain 500 LP. If you activate this effect 3 or more times this turn, destroy this card. 500/1600 Prysmic Bitter WATER **** Rock/Effect If this card is Normal Summoned: You can banish 1 "Prysmic" card from your Deck. During the End Phase, you can add that card to your hand or Set it on your side of the field. (Quick Effect): You can return 1 "Prysmic White Light" you control to your hand; Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower Rock monster that can be Normal Summoned from your GY in defense position. It can only activate each of its effects once this turn. You can only activate this effect of "Prysmic Bitter" once per turn. 1800/1000 Extra (3) Prysmic Isolated DARK 6* Rock/Synchro/Effect 1 Tuner + 1+ Non-Tuner Rock monsters When this card is Special Summoned: Your opponent must send monsters they control to the GY until they control the same number of monsters as you. (Quick Effect): You can target 1 face-up card you control; send that target to the GY, and if you do, you can add Rock monsters from your GY to your hand up to the difference in the number of monsters you and your opponent controls. You can only use each effect of "Prysmic Violent" once per turn. 900/2700 Prysmic Violent DARK 6* Rock/Synchro/Effect 1 Rock Tuner + 1+ Non-Tuner monsters When this card is Special Summoned: You can send 1 face-up card on the field to the GY. (Quick Effect): You can target 1 face-up card you control; send that target to the GY, and if you do, inflict 800 damage to your opponent and gain 800 LP. If you send a "Prysmic White Light" to the GY by this card's effects, you can destroy all monsters your opponent controls. You can only use each effect of "Prysmic Violent" once per turn. 2500/1400 Prysmic Reign LIGHT 8* Rock/Synchro/Effect 1 "Prysmic" Tuner + 1+ "Prysmic" monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can Special Summon all the materials that were used for its Synchro Summon from your GY, but you cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck for the rest of the turn. "Prysmic" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. Once per turn: You can banish 1 "Prysmic" monster from your GY; this card gains that banished monster's effects until the End Phase of the next turn. 3000/3000 Backrow (2) Prysmic Source Continuous Trap This card's name is treated as "Prysmic White Light" while face-up on the field. If all the monsters you control (min. 1) are "Prysmic" monsters, you can activate this card from your hand. When this card is activated: You can add 1 "Prysmic White Light" from your Deck or GY to your hand. If a "Prysmic White Light" you control is returned to your hand by a monster effect: You can Set 1 "Prysmic White Light" from your hand. It can be activated this turn. Prysmic Emometer Trap This card's name is treated as "Prysmic White Light" while face-up on the field. If a "Prysmic" monster you control is destroyed (by battle or by card effect): You can target 1 other "Prysmic" monster in your GY; Special Summon it. After this card resolves, it remains face-up on the field until the End Phase. Thank you for looking through 'em! Hopefully they all make sense. Feel free to ask if anything is confusing. As always, any CnC (Comments n' Critique) is much appreciated! Cheers!
