Elemental Heroes vs Crystal Beasts

Recommended Posts

I'm well aware of the strategy to use to avoid a Crystal Abundance blunder and especially to keep Rainbow Dragon off the field.

However, her primary train of thought isn't on either of those cards, even though she does have them in her deck.

She likes using her Tyrant Dragon, Gravi-Crush Dragon, and her Decoy Dragon the most. THOSE are the cards I'm focused on right now, since they are the most devastating to an Elemental Hero deck.

Why?

Tyrant Dragon with its 2900 attack power can attack a second time if there are still monsters on my side of the field AFTER it attacks the first time. With an elemental hero deck, that's very hard to avoid.

Gravi-Crush Dragon can use the destroyed Crystal Beasts to its advantage to destroy my monsters, leaving my lifepoints wide open.

Decoy Dragon will allow her to bring either of those monsters back from the graveyard should I be able to destroy it, giving her quite the advantage if I destroyed them using a spell or trap card (and not overpowering it).

Plus, to add to the humiliation of defeat. She's got some Soul Releases to remove my elemental heros from the graveyard, preventing me from using some great cards to fuse monsters FROM the graveyard.

I've got to lighten up my deck by getting rid of a lot of cards so I can get to my Polymerizations and my Dark Fusion cards, otherwise I'm not going to be bringing ANY fusion monsters out.

but crab... they really know what "optimal" is??

Okay, maybe "optimal" is the wrong word. What I meant is that we're acting under the assumption that each deck is constructed and played by players of equal skill, and that that level of skill is high.
