Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
The Yor Collective. The original cybernetic race. Since its brutal creation at the hands of the Dread Lords, it's been faced with nothing but strife. However, there has been no challenge quite like this in all their history. There has been a double secession. The Dark Yor and the Borg Collective have both established themselves as separate civilizations. The Yor must stop them at any cost, and that can only mean burning the seeds of discord before they grow. Their whole military is armed and ready to annihilate the Dark Yor and Borg at any cost before they expand out of the quadrant. The Drengin Empire, ancient warlords of the galaxy, have similar goals. The difference is that while the Yor is focused wholly on the offshoots, the Drengin have set aside a special part of their army to deal with the Yor. Meanwhile, a third galactic civilization has arisen. The Andollon Union has sprung up in a nearby quadrant. Though the Yor have no idea, the Drengin are armed to obliterate them before they can become a threat. The Andollon, though, have the advantage. The Drengin don't know they've been developing weapons in secret, so they'll be sending light troops against armed Andollon vessels. In still another sector, the Drath have discovered a new, mysterious planet, orbiting a star that's been known to them since they began star-mapping. The Iconian sacred star's fourth planet, Mirage, has the bizarre quality of being invisible almost all the time, only appearing at a certain time each century. The Drath know something important: the only beings that could do that to a whole planet were the Arnor and Dread Lords. A Dread Lord artifact is almost certainly on Mirage. With the Iconians defensive and the Drengin homing in for the kill, it's starting to look doubtful the Drath will ever reach their goal. The Terran Alliance outpost nearby is their only hope of capturing Mirage against such insurmountable odds. Getting them to join the fight, however, will take every ounce of manipulating skill the Drath have. ••Sign-up sheets! Yay, sign-up sheets!•• It's easy, really. Just name your species in a reply, and as soon as we have the Drath, Andollon, and Drengin, we can start. Happy day! Quick profiles: Terran Alliance: The impulsive Humans have finally learned to control their warlike nature, which is more than the Drengin can boast. That's not to say they don't remember their belligerent days. In space, they're a military force to be reckoned with.Taken By:Altarian Resistance: Once great, the Altarians were brutally attacked by the Drengin and Korath. Their leader was killed, but his daughter lived on to control the fragmented republic. Her expert leadership has led the Altarians to become a definitive force of justice in the galaxy.Taken By:Drath Legion: The Drath are shapeshifters that once lived on Altaria. After being evacuated by the Arnor, they set up a civilization of their own. They make fortunes off discord through their ability to manipulate others, but their luck is starting to run out with no puppets to back their charge on Mirage. They're good at heart, and only want the best for the galaxy and its inhabitants, but it's never evident.Taken By:Iconian Refuge: After being driven off Iconia by the paranoid ancestors of the Yor, the Iconians were able to recover a civilization. The only existing species ever to have been in close contact with the Arnor and Dread Lords, the Iconians keep the star Mirage orbits as sacred. Now that Mirage has been revealed, they will do all they can to defend it.Taken By:Thalan Empire: Voyagers from another universe, the Thalans hate the Terran Alliance for something they will do. Apparently, they'll cause a massive time paradox that will allow for endless destruction. Thalan technology is incredibly advanced, but it can be difficult to set up. They also possess the most powerful non-Precursor item in existence: the city-sized Hyperion Matrix.Taken By:Drengin Empire: Ancient beasts that were conquering their world before the humans existed, the Drengin are the ultimate warlords. They have always been incredibly powerful, and at one point, they ruled the galaxy. Now that they've been knocked from their throne, though, they have competition again. Their military power is immense.Taken By: (My bet's on Davok...)Arcean Empire: The ancient enemies of the Drengin, the Arceans are honorable beings who will never strike below the belt. Their military force is astounding, and they have rivaled the Drengin for centuries. They wish to rule the galaxy, but they're much nicer about it than the Drengin (although, really, that doesn't say much...).Taken By:Korath Clan: A wicked offshoot of the Drengin, the Korath Clan were once great. Their spore ships still make them powerful, as do their mighty soldiers, but their civilization has been reduced to scrap after their failed attempt to destroy the galaxy. Considering how powerfully destructive the Korath already are, the thought of what would happen if they captured Mirage is devastating.Taken By:Dominion of Korx: The embodiments of greed, the Korx consider selling their mothers into slavery as a right of passage. They will literally sell themselves. To be poor in Korx society is to be evil. Because of their incredible greed, the Korx are too easy to manipulate for their own good. They were devastated after the Drath pitted them against the massive alliance the Terrans had constructed.Taken By:Krynn Consulate: Let's just say that these guys are the ultimate evangelists. They want to convert the whole galaxy to their religion, and vaporize anyone who won't. Right now, they're a bit of an empty threat, but if they got a power-up, the galaxy would have true reason to fear the Krynn jihad.Taken By:Andollon Union: A race of frog-like beings that have been developing weapons in secret. Now that the Drengin plan to wipe them out, it's time to use them. No one really knows what the Andollon Union are like, so whoever RPs as them gets quite a bit of freedom.Taken By: riceemanBorg Collective: You know these guys! A bunch of Yor figured out how to assimilate living beings and split into the Borg Collective. Unless the galaxy wants to be slowly infected by the Borg, they'll have to unite to stop them before they gain power. Yeah, right. Like that'll ever happen.Taken By: I play two civilizations 'cuz I'm awesome like that (although the fact I've actually played GalCiv is a plus). The Yor and some other guys you'll find out about later.
