Phelphor, of the Deep
Designing CaC archetypes is tough and this concept is a dosy as it is kind of a paradox focus on how the archetype works. The main idea is that the archetype "pulls its own punches" in order to get stronger and at the same become more lethal. How would you attempt to tackle this CaC archetype design concept while keeping to the theme/strategy of the archetype?
Tinkerer
I came up with a design kinda like this years ago. The gimmick was that you could reduce battle damage the monsters inflict to 100 and if you do, you discard a random card from your opponent's hand. Essentially, you were "pulling your punches" by trading LP advantage to get card advantage. I figure that'd be the main way to design an archetype like this: trading one kind of advantage for another. EDIT: I think that even though this thread is framed as a discussion, it should probably be moved to Experimental, since it is dealing with a design concept.
