Some say they've seen undead wolves, bears, and ravens. Others claim to have seen spirits fly through the forests. And a few claim still, that there exists a mythic beast, whose sole purpose is to kill any intruders that trespass. Welcome to ... the Mysterious Forest The Mysterious Forest archetype is a spam heavy deck that relies on abusing its main deck monsters to quickly swarm the field. From there, it tries to summon into its plethora of extra deck monsters, that generate advantage while on field, and float into other cards when they leave the field. Most main deck monsters carry the restriction of "While this card is face-up on the field: You cannot Summon any other monsters, exepct for "Mysterious Forest" monsters.". In addition, they also have separate effects when Normal Summoned and Special Summoned. 3 of the Extra Deck monsters have the text “Once per turn, during your Main Phase: If this card occupies the Extra Monster Zone“ as an activation requirement for their field effects. All 4 of them summon an archetype monster (one from deck, graveyard, hand, and extra deck) when they leave the field. The deck also has one Pendulum and one Ritual Monster, which are tricky to summon but have powerful effects that control your opponent's plays. I am still making edits to this deck. This may or may not be the final version. [spoiler=Playstyle] "Mysterious Forest" generates advantage by abusing its main summoner, "Mysterious Forest - Spirit Warrior". Each time this card is summoned, it Special Summons any "Mysterious Forest" monster from deck. This card can be Normal Summoned on its own; it can also be summoned from Deck by discarding "Mysterious Forest - Spirit Drago". The aforementioned is usually searched by Normal Summoning "Mysterious Forest - Wandering Wolf", giving you a total of 9 cards in Deck to start your plays. Spirit Warrior tends to bring out either Wisdom Tree to add another card to hand, or Rabid Bear to extend your plays. It can also bring out Wandering Wolf or Red Raven if you need to bounce a threat or negate a card. Finally, it can also bring out the 3000 ATK The Eldritch, a powerful card that disrupts a summon and nets you two cards when it leaves the field. Spirit Warrior is also a Tuner, which allows you to summon the Synchro Monster, Gadzooks the Owl. Gadzooks can tribute itself to summon any other Extra Deck monster you need. In addition, Gadzooks also summons another monster from Deck if it leaves the field, except by its own effect. Cursed Creature is the Archtype's Link 3 monster. It gives you 1 free draw and also bring another monster from the Extra Deck when it leaves the field. Spirit Shaman is the Rank 4 XYZ monster that helps re-position your extra deck monsters, and tutors a LV 4 or lower when it leaves the field. Finally, Sinister Snake is the Fusion Monster that shuffles any threat into the deck, and summons a monster from hand when it leaves the field. You can easily trigger their 2nd effects either by using them as summon material for another monster, or by the summon requirement of The Eldritch. These monsters also serve as good floaters to end your board on. The rest of the Main Deck Monsters help generate or maintain advantage. Wandering Wolf and Red Raven add cards from Deck and Grave, respectively. Wisdom Tree can recycle your cards in grave for a draw when Normal'd, or adds another card to hand from deck when Special'd. Rabid Bear extends your plays by SS'ing one from GY when Normal'd, or summoning a monster from hand when Special'd. The monster Special Summoned is treated as a Normal Summon, which allows you to activate other effects you may want to use. In a pinch, you have access to Mysterious Forest Sprite, which is a hand trap that protects your monsters from summon and effect negations. Mysterious Forest - The Eldritch is the monster's only Pendulum monster, and it is very powerful. It is easily summoned from Deck, Hand, or GY by the effects of cards like Spirit Warrior, Spirit Drago, Rabid Bear, Gadzooks the Owl, Cursed Creature and Sinister Snake. It can also summon itself from hand or from the Extra Deck face-up by sending two monsters on the field to the GY. It has a Widow Anchor type effect, which negates the effects of an opponent's monster and takes control of it once per turn. Finally, it adds two cards to hand (One Monster and One Spell), which is essential to bringing out the archtype's Ritual Monster, Mythic Beast. The deck has three spells. The Field Spell, A Barn in the Mysterious Forest protects your Extra Deck monsters from targeted effects. It also shuffles itself into deck when it leaves the field. The Fusion Spell, Mysterious Forest Fusion can shuffle itself from GY into deck to protect an Extra Deck Monster from effect destruction. And the Ritual Spell, Mysterious Forest - Midnight Bonfire can shuffle itself from GY into deck to protect an Extra Deck Monster from dying in battle. The Ritual Monster, Mythic Beast is the boss monster. Both it and the Ritual spell are easily added to hand by the effect of The Eldritch. It is immune to card destruction the turn it is summoned. It also can destroy a card on field during either player's turn by destroying one of your own cards. You can combo it with The Eldritch to take the opponent's monster, then destroy their monster and another card they control. It also shuffles itself into the deck when it leaves the field.
