What do you open first? Riddle

You might've seen this riddle posted on Facebook.

 

Riddle: It’s 7:00 am. You are asleep and there is a sudden knock on the door. Behind the door are your parents, who came to have breakfast. In your fridge: bread, milk (pasteurised!), juice, and a jar of jam. To answer, what will you open first?

 

This is a riddle that has caught many people out on Facebook as of late because of the instructions in the post.

You need to open the front door first, right?  Either that, or open your eyes.  I haven't seen this make the rounds on FB, but I've seen variations of this.  It's a pretty old riddle, isn't it?

The widely accepted right answer is "eyes" as the riddle states that you're asleep. Hard to open the door first in that regard.

As for the version on FB, why it caught people out was because the people are asked to DM the poster of the riddle, meaning the answer would be "Messenger", but that action is put after the question mark (denoting the end of the riddle), thus technically not part of the riddle
