piruluk
Time for a second archetype! This time is the Clownwork archetype; a machine synchro/link deck which revolves around our little star whose effect triggers when summoned and returned to the deck! Clownwork Little StarLevel 1Dark/Machine/Tuner/EffectATK 0 / DEF 0If this card is summoned or returned to the deck, inflict 200 points of damage to your opponent's life points. While this effect seems kind of lack-luster at first, the other cards in the archetype allow her summoning to happen a lot. Clownwork Jammed JugglerLevel 3Dark/Machine/EffectATK 1000 / DEF 0When this card is normal summoned: you can special summon 1 level 4 or lower "Clownwork" monster from your GY. Once per turn, you can shuffle 1 "Clownwork" monster from your hand, field or GY into your deck; return 1 of your opponent's monsters on the field to their hand. You can only activate each effect of "Clownwork Jammed Juggler" once per turn. Initially I had the second effect as a quick effect, however since the effect is non-targeting removal, I felt making it slower would slightly balance it. The first effect allows for some easy link/synchro plays, even if it's tied to normal summoning. Clownwork Start-up Presenter Level 4Dark/Machine/EffectATK 1800 / DEF 0If you control no monsters, you can reveal this card in your hand; special summon both this card from your hand and 1 level 4 or lower "Clownwork" monster from your deck. For the rest of this turn you can only special summon Machine-type monsters. Pretty simple, yet extremely important for making plays with this deck for obvious reasons. Clownwork Shining StarLink 2 (Bottom left, Bottom right)Dark/Machine/Link/EffectATK 18002 "Clownwork" MonstersIf this card is Link summoned: you can special summon 1 "Clownwork Little Star" from your hand, deck or GY to a zone this card points to. Once per turn, during the main phase, you can (Quick effect): Immediately after this effect resolves, synchro summon 1 machine synchro monster by shuffling the required material from your GY into your deck, including at least 1 "Clownwork Little Star". You can only activate each effect of "Clownwork Shining Star" once per turn. A little overpowered letting you synchro summon by using material from the GY, so I restricted it to machines. If you think I should further restrict it to Clownwork synchro instead, let me know. Clownwork Star of the ShowLink 4 (Left, Bottom left, Bottom right, Right)Dark/Machine/Link/EffectATK 30002+ Machine MonstersApply effects depending on which monsters were used as link material:Synchro - Unaffected by opponent's card effectsLink - This card can attack all of your opponent's monsters, once each."Clownwork Little Star" - During your end phase, draw 1 card.Clownwork Pipe PierrotLevel 4Dark/Machine/Synchro/Tuner/EffectATK 1500 / DEF 01 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner Machine type monstersIf this synchro summoned monster would be used as a synchro material, 1 "Clownwork" monster in your hand can be used as 1 of the other material. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: you can add 1 "Clownwork" monster from your GY to your hand or shuffle 1 "Clownwork" monster from your GY into your deck. Clownwork Flare PerformerLevel 5Dark/Machine/Synchro/EffectATK 2000 / DEF 01 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner Machine type monstersIf this card was synchro summoned using "Clownwork Little Star" as synchro material, this monster can be treated as a tuner while on the field. Once per turn, when a spell/trap card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): you can shuffle 1 "Clownwork" monster from your GY into the deck; and if you do, negate the activation, and if you do that, destroy it. Clownwork Lead DelaydeLevel 8 Dark/Machine/Synchro/EffectATK 2900 / DEF 01 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner Machine type monstersThis monster synchro summoned using a synchro monster as material cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects. During damage calculation, if you "Clownwork" monster battles an opponent's monster (quick effect): You can shuffle any number of "Clownwork" monsters with different names from your GY into your deck, and if you do, your battling monster gains 1000 ATK for each card shuffled into the deck, until the end of this turn. Clownwork Technical DifficultiesSpellDiscard 1 "Clownwork" monster from your hand; if you do, send cards from the top of your deck to the GY equal to the level of the discarded monster. You cannot special summon monsters the turn you activate this card, except machine-type monsters. You can only activate 1 "Clownwork Technical Difficulties" per turn. Clownwork Curtain CallContinuous SpellWhen this card is activate: You can add 1 "Clownwork" card from your deck to your hand. Once per turn, you can send 1 "Clownwork" monster from your deck to your GY. During the end phase of a turn in which "Clownwork Little Star" was returned to your deck, you can return this card from your field to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Clownwork Curtain Call" per turn. Any comments on how to fix this archetype are extremely welcome!
Revv
1) alone this card is luckster but if you can trigger his effect more then 1 times then its good 2) Good card, balanced, nothing to change 3) same for this one 4) the machine limitation is fine, but the problem for this card is that not all synchro monsters have ''specific'' materials to use for synchro summoning, or if they have, its like 1 tuner with a precise name. Lets say you want to summon catastor: your going to return from the GY a tuner level 2 and a monster lv 3? or maybe you want to go for a synchro that requires already a tuner different then ''Clownwork Little Star''. How you gonna do it? 5) I like this, its original imo 6) nothing to say, good 7)*or monster effect 8) so this card can still be destroyed by non targeting effects right? if so then its good 9) Helps a lot with the strategy but you put the once per turn limitation so im good with it 10) isn't this card too good? this card makes you lunch and dinner, i would stick to only sending the monster to the grave without also adding whatever clock you need. piruluk
1) alone this card is luckster but if you can trigger his effect more then 1 times then its goodYou should be triggering this multiple times per turn, since its easily summoned by other cards 4) the machine limitation is fine, but the problem for this card is that not all synchro monsters have ''specific'' materials to use for synchro summoning, or if they have, its like 1 tuner with a precise name. Lets say you want to summon catastor: your going to return from the GY a tuner level 2 and a monster lv 3? or maybe you want to go for a synchro that requires already a tuner different then ''Clownwork Little Star''. How you gonna do it? It lets you synchro summon any machine monster as long as the tuner is Little star. For the catastor example, you can summon it with little star and a level 4 monster. Any machine synchro that requires a generic tuner can be summoned by this. 7)*or monster effect The card only stops spells and traps. I copied the wording for this effect from "F.A. Dawn Dragster" 8) so this card can still be destroyed by non targeting effects right? if so then its goodIt can't be destroyed by card effects, but can be removed by non-targeting removal, for example "Ignister Prominence" can get rid of it, "Dark Hole" cannot. 10) isn't this card too good? this card makes you lunch and dinner, i would stick to only sending the monster to the grave without also adding whatever clock you need.It may be too good, but without it, the deck has no way of adding "Clownwork" from the deck to hand. I could probably split this into 2 cards to balance it out though
Revv
Yeah i would split that in 2 cards so you can access to them based on the situation your in with other cards
