Bruteboii
My attempt to finally try and bring Red-Eyes full circle, since it seems to have an identity issue since Legendary Duelists. Red-Eyes Black Flame SwordsmanLevel 5/ DARK/ Warrior/ EffectATK/1800 DEF/1600If you control no monsters in your Main Monster Zones, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is sent from the Monster Zone to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "Flame Swordsman" from your Extra Deck, (this is treated as a Fusion Summon), and if you do, equip this card from the GY to it. It gains 700 ATK. If this card is sent to the GY while equipped to a monster: You can add 1 "Red-Eyes" Monster from your GY to your hand, except "Red-Eyes Black Flame Swordsman". Lost Knight of Red-EyesDARK/ Warrior/ Link/ Effect (L, D)ATK/2400 LINK-22 monsters, including 1 "Red-Eyes" MonsterOnce per turn (Quick Effect): You can send 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Spell/Trap from your Deck to the GY; apply that sent card's effect. (The Spell/Trap activation requirements must still be correct, but costs are not paid). Once per turn: You can send 1 Equip Card you control to the GY; "Red-Eyes" Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn. Restless Red-EyesEquip SpellTarget 1 "Red-Eyes" Monster in your GY; Special Summon that target and equip it with this card. When this card leaves the field, destroy that target. If this face-up card is sent to the GY by card effect: You can shuffle 2 "Red-Eyes" cards from the GY into the Deck, then draw 1 card. Red-Eyes NestingIf you control no monsters: Special Summon from your Deck 1 Level 1 DARK Dragon monster, and 1 DARK Dragon monster with an effect that includes equipping itself to a monster. Monsters summoned by this effect can only be used as Materials for the Summon of a DARK monster. You can only activate "Red-Eyes Nesting" once per turn. With these four cards, we try to bring the Red-Eyes archetype full circle. Red-Eyes Insight is a powerful card, but currently only searches for the Traps, and while Fang with Chain provides a solid interruption, is slow, and so Insight doesn't provide any sort of extension in a first turn play. Now, Insight can search two handy spells!Red-Eyes Nesting is a searchable method to put Black Stone of Legend or Black Metal Dragon on the field, and either an additional Black Metal, or Red-Eyes Baby Dragon.Restless Red-Eyes is the second Spell that you can search, and being an equip allows a bit of a bridge between Gearfried and Slash Dragon. It's the fastest rez the deck has, and also allows a sacrifice play by Gearfried or Slash Dragon to net you an additional draw after a small recovery.Playing the role of the extender, providing both an easy Special Summon AND some Equip play is Red-Eyes Black Flame Swordsman.Red-Eyes Black Flame Swordsman allows you to Summon it for free either as your first play of the game, or even after Special Summoning a monster to the Extra Monster Zone. Once the Black Flame moves from the field to the GY, his effect to summon out the original Flame Swordsman kicks in, and even then equips itself to the original as a Salamandra! If that isn't enough, when the new Salamandra hits the GY, you can recover any other "Red-Eyes" Monster. Finally, we have the final card, with effects that allow early Red-Eyes Spirit plays, or even Red-Eyes Fusion as an EXTRA Summon to your turn; Lost Knight of Red-EyesLost Knight of Red-Eyes is a Link-2 that allows you to bypass the Summoning restriction of Red-Eyes Fusion, an extra rez with Red-Eyes Spirit, or just a search with Insight. An early play might prefer to send Fusion to assist setting up the GY AND providing you with a big beater in any of "Red-Eyes" various fusions. The second effect of Lost Knight provides more play with your equips, and even provides synergy with Restless Red-Eyes and Black Metal Dragon. The Link Arrow to point left also means if this monster is rez'd it allows a monster from the Extra Deck to be summoned in one other Zone.So there's what I think. Over time we'll get more support that just enables Red-Eyes like Dragons, and maybe Equip-like effects, but if we had Nesting now, or at least Lost Knight, the deck would at least become a little more relevant among casual play.
