Blake
Ye, the noodles are fine, but it’s he Alfredo dish I’ve been the most exposed to. Don’t care for Alfredo pizza, either.

There are some really fantastic stouts from local breweries in the Vancouver/Seattle/Portland area.

While I don't drink much beer, I have heard good things about Portland beer. Rouge is particularly good IMO.
Thar
Ah yes, beer is another one. I'm more of a cider guy. Never really developed a taste for the real stuff.

The real trick to beer is managing to enjoy, and embrace, the bitterness.

There are some really fantastic stouts from local breweries in the Vancouver/Seattle/Portland area. As a member of the PNW you underestimate me in thinking I have not tried several microbreweries! Only types that I've ever been able to remotely tolerate/enjoy have been sours and radlers. Some have been great! But other variants, ESPECIALLY the dark types, are just gross. I maintain the opinion that if a food/drink is an "acquired taste", that if you have to force/train yourself to like it, chances are it was kinda sheet to begin with! Bitterness is something I've never been able to enjoy in drinks. Coffee is the only exception. The same goes for sour.
