GoldenTide
Quick-Play SpellThis card can only be activated when your Life Points are at least 8000 points higher than your opponent's Life Points. When this card is activated, you win the current Duel.
Bruteboii
So, play Gold Sarc with Soul Absorption, or some similar play, and just win? I think this is too easy to pull off. Of course burning the opponent down WITHOUT hitting 0 is also a bit unfair. Would need some harder restriction in my opponent.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
But who uses Soul Absorption in the current format (even if something like Desires can net 5000 LP on its usage)? Hmm, speaking of which, Desires + Absorption would be a MAJOR asset to reaching the 8K deficit needed (assuming nothing else happens). Then again, it's also not like cards that require LP costs exist, coupled with battle/effect damage in conjunction with LP boost cards here. Stuff like Aromas are probably capable of gaining a good chunk of LP every turn and the aforementioned is certainly going to generate enough costs if you do it right. There is nothing wrong with designing alt. win conditions, albeit you do need to balance them out properly (though they are still frowned upon to some extents). With this card, yeah, even if the required deficit is high, it's easier to pull off than you probably thought when designing this. Maybe increase the bar to 10,000 (in which case, you'd really have to go crazy on the LP gain or gimmicks), but it'll likely go into the somewhat impractical range by modern standards. Also change it to a Normal Spell, because I am not seeing a reason why it needs to be a Quick-Play.
GoldenTide
If this card existed IRL, you basically would have to build an entire deck around it. Therefore, it becomes less of a deck and more of a concept. This is why Exodia and Final Countdown aren't banned right now.You must also need some context. According to Irish lore, when you hear the banshee screaming, your life is about to end. Fitting for a alt. win condition. The reason it's a Quick-Play is so you can activate it on your opponent's turn, so you can use, say, Aegis of Gaia if you so wished. Bruteboii
Personally I think it being a Quick Play is a problem. Yes you can use Aegis, but you're now not even letting your opponent get a chance to play. (I do realise we have FTKs, but when you miss the mark with the FTK, you don't nor ally get to end your opponents turn when they draw, normally).I agree with Sakura, increasing the LP deficit to 10,000 might be a better idea. It's an outlandish number, and it's also quite a feat. It would be both impressive and fair. The concept Is actually great. I'd love to see some ghoulish/Blair Witch type artwork for it! Darj
Looks acceptable to me. It may encourage non-interactive playstyles, but It would require a deck dedicated to it, and gives a win condition to Soul Absorption mass LP gain strategies. I doubt it would have any noticeable impact in the metagames.
