TheWanderingMist Posted August 31, 2018 Report Share Posted August 31, 2018 MAGMARLIN Archetype FIRE Fish The entire point of this archetype is to provide the FIRE Attribute with Fish monsters, seeing as there are currently 0. It also has an alternate win condition. They recycle themselves, but normally go to the bottom of the Deck, symbolizing a retreat into deeper magma. Definitely not fast enough for modern Yu-Gi-Oh! But would probably wreak some havoc in olden days. The point of the archetype is to bring out its boss monster, "Magmarlin", using "Magmarlin Spawn" to get Tribute fodder, then get as many "Speed Counters" on it as possible before Summoning "Magmarlin Turbo". The win condition is basically there so your opponent can’t just negate Battle Damage and laugh while you can’t hit them. Monsters Magmarlin Roe:Level 1Effect: You must have at least two “Magmarlin” monsters (including this card) in your hand to activate this effect: You can discard this card to activate this effect: Add 1 “Magma” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand, shuffle your Deck, then place 1 “Magmarlin” monster from your hand on the bottom of your Deck.Atk/Def 0 Magmarlin Small Fry:Level 1Effect: You can Tribute this monster. Place 1 “Speed Counter” on a “Magmarlin” card you control. Atk/Def 0 Magmarlin Big Fry:Level 4: You can Tribute this monster. Place 2 “Speed Counters” on each “Magmarlin” card you control OR Special Summon up to 3 “Magmarlin Small Fry” from your Deck or GY. Atk 1500/ Def 1200 Magmarlin:Level 9Effect: This card gains 300 Atk for each “Speed Counter” on it. This card is unaffected by card effects other than the effects of “Magmarlin” cards. Atk 3100/ Def 3000 Magmarlin Turbo:Level 11Effect: Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned by Tributing 1 “Magmarlin” you control with 10+ “Speed Counters” on it. When Special Summoned this way, place a number of “Speed Counters” on this card equal to the number of “Speed Counters” that were on the Tributed monster. Unaffected by card effects other than the effects of “Magmarlin” cards. This card gains 500 Atk for each “Speed Counter” on it. Once per turn, and only once that turn, you can move as many “Speed Counters” from this card as you like and place them onto a Field Spell card. During each player’s End Phase, place 1 “Speed Counter” on this card. Atk 3300/Def 3000 Spells ContinuousMagmarlin Re-Spawn: When a “Magmarlin” monster you control is sent from the field to the GY: Place 1 “Magmarlin” monster from your GY with a different name on the bottom of your Deck. FieldMagmarlin Sea: “Magmarlin” monsters cannot be targeted by card effects, except the effects of “Magmarlin” cards. When a “Magmarlin” monster is sent to the GY: its owner can add 1 “Magmarlin” monster from their GY to the bottom of their Deck. If there are 50+ “Speed Counters” on this card at the end of your Battle Phase, you win the Duel. NormalMagmarlin Race: Look through your Deck for up to 3 “Magmarlin” monsters. Shuffle your Deck, then place 1 of those monsters on top of the Deck, one on the bottom of the Deck, and send the other to the GY. Magmarlin Overdrive: Target 1 “Magmarlin” monster you control. Place a number of “Speed Counters” on it equal to the number of “Speed Counters” it had when this card was activated. If it had 0 "Speed Counters" when this card was activated, destroy it and inflict damage to both player's LP equal to its Atk in the GY. Quick-PlayMagmarlin Spawn: If you control a face-up “Magmarlin” monster, Special Summon as many Level 3 or lower FIRE Fish monsters from your Deck as possible. They cannot attack, and are destroyed during the End Phase. Traps ContinuousMagma Stream: As long as you control a face-up “Magmarlin” monster, all monsters your opponent controls lose 500 Atk during the Damage Step only. Counter Magma Dive: When a “Magmarlin” monster you control is targeted for a card effect, send it to the bottom of the Deck and if you do, negate the activation of that card and destroy it. Normal Magma Splash: When a “Magmarlin” monster you control is targeted for an attack, return the “Magmarlin” monster to your hand, then send the attacking monster to the GY.
