Some points: This is voter suppression. It's a violation of rights. It's common practice (though not always in this particular manner.)This case is an easy fix. Ryusei the Morning Star
They've pretty clearly outlined the violations to the ADA. If you think that's bogus, take them to court
Dad
That's not my issue. My issue is they can fix the polling places and update them. Like any other polling place.
mido9
I mean, a majority black county with a third of its population under the poverty line is probably poorer than other counties, so they couldn't afford to update them. It (probably) really is just that simple.
Dad
I mean, a majority black county with a third of its population under the poverty line is probably poorer than other counties, so they couldn't afford to update them. It (probably) really is just that simple. That doesn't make any sense. At all. Because 100% of the county has to pay taxes and those taxes go to fixing facilities. Whether or not those funds are actually funded properly to update polling places is another problem. Fix the God damn facilities and let people vote. It's that simple. If the county was so poor they couldn't fix facilities, then they probably couldn't fix anything, let alone pay government officials in that county. Do you have any idea how many people would be out of work? The government there would have to collapse. You're not gonna tell me Detroit can afford it but Georgia can't. It's mind boggling that people are okay with this at all. Fix the funking polling stations. Update them.
Nathanael D. EDIT: Crisis advertised. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/randolph-county-polling-places_us_5b7f0735e4b0348585fec533
