goodfusion
SPFU-JP037 雷神龍-サンダー・ドラゴン Raijinryuu – Thunder Dragon (Thunder Dragon Lord) Level 10 LIGHT Thunder Fusion Effect Monster ATK 3200 DEF 3200 Fusion Materials: 3 “Thunder Dragon” monsters Must be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by banishing 2 Thunder monsters (1 from your hand, and 1 Fusion Monster from your field) not named “Thunder Dragon Lord” (in which case you do not use “Polymerization”). (1) When a Thunder monster effect activates in the hand (even during the Damage Step) (Quick Effect): You can destroy 1 card on the field. (2) If this card would be destroyed by a card effect, you can banish 2 cards from your GY instead. This is so awesome!
Atypical-Abbie
Oh neat, it's now an Archetype too. From what I gather, you use a Thunder Dragon in your hand, get out any Thunder monster, Special Summon Superbolt, then you use the Fusion Monster and another Thunder Dragon in your hand to get this out. It's odd, but I suppose you can make that work in a Thunder Deck, you just need 3 Thunder Dragon really. I wonder if more support will come in the Main Deck though, now that it's an Archetype. (GigaDrillBreaker)
I'm going to be perfectly honest, superbolt feels much better than this. It helps solidify boards, while this just has conditional destruction.
Tinkerer
(even during the Damage Step) ...interesting. (Will post full thoughts later.
White Void
I've always liked Thunder Dragon despite it being mostly empty advantage, so this is cool. I like that the destruction isn't OPT so depending on what kind of main deck monsters we get with this, that effect might be incredible. Think I'm going to try Thunder Dragon Hunders once all the support is known. One other thing: Kaminari Attack through Instant Fusion makes this laughably simple to summon. goodfusion
I'm going to be perfectly honest, superbolt feels much better than this. It helps solidify boards, while this just has conditional destruction. If we get more hand-effect Thunders (which seems likely considering they made Thunder Dragon an archetype), this is fantastic IMO. You can turn 1 summon Superbolt, if it survives your opponent's turn you can summon this using Superbolt and start destroying stuff.
Draconus297
That "including the Damage Step" clause makes me worry about a Thunder-Type Kalut/Honest, but this thing also means that Thunder-Type handtraps, if they ever become a thing, jump up in power a considerable amount (who's up for a Thunder version of Herald of Orange Light, or Ghost Ogre?) . . . that said, however, until those exist, this thing isn't exactly all that powerful. Yeah, this was what I was waiting for, in your review and Drew's on Youtube, to point out in regards to this card; you're one Instant Fusion away from making this, forget going through Supervolt to make this, run BOTH Thunder Dragons and Instant Fusion. Use each to make the other on a field with a Link-2 (which any mono-LIGHT Deck can also make with ease thanks to Hoshin-Again and Photon Sanctuary) and press the issue on the opponent. They can't search thanks to Supercharged and both the original Thunder Dragon and future Thunder Dragon stuff (cuz you know they're getting it, the "even during the Damage Step" caveat on TDL hints at it with brick-through-window-like subtlety) will result in snipes at the opponent's field for daring to try, which is why I thought one of the comments on dpYGO's channel on this card, which called this the Scrap Twin Dragon to Supercharged Thunder Dragon's Scrap Dragon, missed the point-if you can get both on the field with miminal Summoning ease, their disadvantages pale, and these two are easy-bake Contact Fusions, something the undersupported Thunder monsters can hang their caps on as a complement to their strategies. Especially, again, with the Kaminari Attack/Instant Fusion pipeline. Rating:T.G. Wonder Magician on steroids for Thunders/10.
