Skill Cards (based on the VRAINS series)

So, I thought it'd be interesting, and not so farfetched given how Konami loves to release cards homaging stuff from the anime series, to make cards based on the Skills used by some VRAINS characters during Speed Duels. Here are they, feel free to critique, tell me where they can improve, but please be polite:
 

Storm Access
Normal Spell Card
 
If your LP is 1000 or less and only your opponent controls a monster: You can banish any number of Cyberse and/or DARK Dragon monsters from your GY; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 Cyberse Link monster with the same Link Rating as the number of those banished monsters. You cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this card, except Cyberse or DARK Dragon monsters. You can only activate "Storm Access" once per Duel.

 
Personally, I picture this one's art in my mind as Playmaker and Revolver (their faces covered by shadows, as per tradition with character-based card art) reaching for a card being formed in the middle of a Data Storm.
 

Gouki Fighting Spirit
Quick-Play Spell Card
 
Special Summon as many "Gouki" monsters that were destroyed by battle this turn as possible from your GY. You can only activate "Gouki Fighting Spirit" once per Duel.

 
I had to change the skill's name as to not coincide with the TCG name of another card, as well as buff it by giving it more searchability.

 

Trickstar Fraud
Normal Trap Card
 
During your opponent's turn, if your opponent has 2 or less cards in their hand: You can discard 1 "Trickstar" card; your opponent draws until they have 3 cards in their hand, and if they do, during the End Phase, banish 1 random card from your opponent's hand for each "Trickstar" monster in your GY. You can only activate "Trickstar Fraud" once per Duel.


Secret Cure
Normal Trap Card
 
If all monsters you control and in your GY are "Altergeist" monsters (min. 1):  Excavate cards from the top of your Deck until you excavate a monster, then add that monster to your hand, also send the remaining cards to the GY, then both players gain LP equal to the added monster's ATK. You can only activate "Secret Cure" once per Duel.


Burning Draw
Normal Spell Card
 
If your LP is 4000 or less and you have no other cards in your hand: Pay LP so that you only have 100 left; draw 1 card for each 1000 LP you paid. You cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this card, except "Salamangreat" monsters. You can only activate "Burning Draw" once per Duel.

To be fair, the Skills work well in VRAINS because they do not require them to be actual cards to be used. Here, you actually have to search them and outside the Gouki and Trickstar ones, yeah, you get it. 

 

Storm Access is technically okay in application, but at 1000 LP, you're either dead by then or require having to overcome bigger boards. Also the fact that outside Firewall, Trisbaena (in some capacities), Topologic Bomber and I guess that's it, there's no real Cyberses that you would actually want to summon in Revolver.dek. Yusaku doesn't care because that's all he runs and can do whatever. Both Decks do get stuff into the GY somewhat quickly, but yeah, I can't see this being used. I suppose increasing the LP thing to 2000 might help it somewhat (at least scaling to the real life game). 

 

Fighting Spirit is generally okay, I suppose. (Also, no one really cares about that other card from TDGS or remembers it thereof, but yeah.) Least it does revive the Link members, so it helps. IIRC I don't think they have Link revival since Rematch needs different Levels to work, and you know Links do not have this. 

 

Fraud would be okay in those Trickstar variants that do tech Droll & Lock Bird nowadays off Reincarnation since they won't have cards thereof anyway, but given the game nowadays, I don't think the opponent will necessarily still have those cards in hand for you to banish. I guess it also works for dumping another copy of Reincarnation or whatever new stuff they got that triggers in the GY (i.e. Magicorolla target if you ditched a monster or Mandrake reviving self). 

 

Secret Cure faces the same problem as Personal Spoofing; not an Altergeist card so Marionetter cannot grab it. I'm not really certain on what Altergeists run nowadays with the advent of Multifaker and other support beyond CIBR, but think they are generally pure in terms of monster lineup (Main anyway). I guess it can set up the Traps in the GY for protection, but that's about all it does. Being a 1 of, and yeah, not searchable isn't helping. Spoofing is at triples IIRC because you need to get to it quickly.  

 

Burning Draw is too early to exist at the moment, well, considering that Salamangreats aren't well fleshed out yet as far as releases go. You might have noticed that we are getting them in Soul Fusion, but only Meer and Heatlio are confirmed. The no hand condition probably kills it a bit too, considering the archetype lock from using it (and well, the LP drop). I guess it's there to prevent some guy using Solemn to halve his LP, then draw 3 at most. Wait until the set releases (or YGOrganization confirms the existence of the other Salamangreats). 

 

(But then again, opinion on them is negative at the moment due to Soulburner, but that's a matter for the anime thread; not here)

 


 

Because you made them "once per duel" cards, you have to take into consideration if the Deck in question has space to devote to these 1-ofs and if they advance the Deck's plays any further than they can already do. Right now, outside maybe the Gouki one, I doubt they can do this given that restriction, especially in competition.

Yeah, I was initially planning for Storm Access to just summon the monster with no ifs or buts, but a friend of mine told me it'd be overkill.

 

Would it be better if GFS worked as a Rekindling for Goukis? That is, just summoned any Gouki in the GY? Or would it be too broken? If so, taking it out off the Gouki archetype could solve that?

 

What are your suggestions to buff Fraud and Cure without killing the flavour too much or making them too dissimilar to the skills shown in the anime?

 

Guess I'll wait until they reveal the rest of the Salamangreats before trying to fix Burning Draw, but I might try brainstorming some ideas,
