Welcome to Pokemon Ultimate Coliseum – The Greatest Challenge.

 

All new Pokemon will be put at the end of this post. There aren’t many…yet. But more may be added over the course of the fanfic. And I have more new Pokemon ready…but I’m going to add them in the Pokedex as they come up over the course of the story. Now, this story follows not just 1 or 2 people, but 6! This means that I can have a lot of variety and the last few semi-finals and final of the cup will be very interesting… I’m looking at 2 people a chapter just to make it easy reading. Oh, and I have new moves. Whenever I mention them, I will put them in the first post as well, near the new Pokemon.

 

Chapter 1:

 

Billy threw out his last Pokemon. Over the roar of the crowd, Billy cried out his Pokemon’s name.

 

“Go, Rindon!”

 

The roar intensified, which Billy didn’t think was possible, as the small bluey grey, 4 legged Pokemon came out. It had a horn on its head and a sleek body that ended in a small tail. The crowd just made him blush. They probably thought it was a weak low level Pokemon. But for some reason, it was only a Rindon because for some reason that Billy had not discovered, the little Rhino Pokemon wasn’t evolving.

 

His competitor smirked, his last Pokemon, a Kecleon in front of him, very indistinct. Billy glared through the forest that was stadium number 45. Each Stadium in the Coliseum had a different terrain, and Billy had got a forest.

 

“Rindon, use Rampage!” Billy commanded, and his Pokemon nodded in acknowledgement. The Rindon put its head down and charged. The horn on its head shredded up any foliage in the way, and the Pokemon neared the opponents Kecleon.

 

“Kecleon, jump out of the way and use Shadow Claw!” The opponent called.

 

Billy was ready for a call to dodge however, and knew what to do; “Rindon jump in the air while continuing the move!”

 

The Kecleon jumped in the air, but not out of the way, as the Rindon also jumped. The two Pokemon collided in the air. The Kecleon was sent flying backwards, landing on soft, earthy ground. Rindon landed on his feet, proudly posing for the cameras flashing around the packed stadium.

 

“Oh, what a fantastic move by Billy. That Rindon is tough! Billy sure knows his stuff!” The commentator for the match, Doug Philips, cried, his voice echoing around the stadium. The crowd cheered, and Billy felt an intense sense of pride. He had qualified to get into the Ultimate Tournament of all time, and he felt a little bit humbled by the fact that in this first round, only 100 trainers got in. And he was scared too. But he shrugged it off, steadied himself, and waited to see if the Kecleon was fainted or not.

 

It wasn’t, as it got up in a leap and bared its teeth at Billy’s Rindon, who it was obviously angry with. The opposing trainer also looked angry, and he spoke through gritted teeth.

 

“Kecleon, hide in the trees using your camouflage ability!”

 

Kecleon nodded and then disappeared. Billy looked around the arena but couldn’t see any sign of the elusive Kecleon. Rindon just looked around forlornly, his eyes taking on a sad look. It was then that Billy got an idea.

 

“Rindon, do such a strong Earthquake that you shake the trees!” Billy cried.

 

With that, the Pokemon stamped on the ground and a huge shudder passed through the whole stadium, so violent that people in the stands were shaken off their seats. The trees in the stadium started trembling, and then that was when Billy saw the flicker that could only have been the Kecleon.

 

“Rindon, Horn Attack!” Billy commanded, and his Rindon charged forwards. The Kecleon looked up only to be pummelled by the sharp horn on Rindon’s head rammed into his chest. The chameleon Pokemon was sent tumbling backwards where it lay motionless, knocked out.

 

Billy jumped and punched the air. The crowd erupted in cheering and clapping as the fainted Kecleon was returned to the disgruntled opponents Pokeball. Billy withdrew his Rindon, muttering as he did so.

 

“You did well little guy” He patted the ball and placed it on his belt. He then left the stadium, a warm thrill of joy rushing through him.

Zed stood, unmoving. His hat covered his face in shadow, and his black cloak wafted around him like a shadow. His opponent, a girl, was frustrated. She was down to her final Pokemon, while Zed still had the same Shiny Metagross he had started with. It seemed unstoppable and taken very little damage over the whole match. A rare smile flickered across Zed’s worn feature as the girl flicked her last Pokemon into the sky.

 

“Go, Tropius!” The brown Pokemon with the wings of leaves appeared, flapping up small gusts of wind around herself. She bayed, the noise echoing through the canyon stadium they were in.

 

“Ancient Power” Zed said, and immediately Metagross’s eyes had started glowing red. Rocks around the black and gold Pokemon suddenly took on a red glow around them and started to float in the air. Then they were sent flying towards the Tropius.

“Tropius, razor leaf!” The young lady cried, and Tropius sent out a flock of leafs that were sent spinning into the approaching rocks. Nothing happened though and the rocks hit Tropius, making her fall to the ground in pain.

 

“Shadow Ball” Zed commanded coolly, and the Metagross formed a ball of writhing shadows and blackness in his hand. Then, with precise accuracy, he fired the ball towards the already injured Tropius.

 

The trainer had no time to react as the attack hit, causing Tropius to be knocked out. The Pokemon flumped to the floor, eyes closed. The girl returned the Tropius to it’s Pokeball, tears in her eyes.

 

Zed turned and walked away, unaware of the crowd or the commentator who was talking into the microphone.

 

“Extraordinary. Zed has done it again, and the defending champion looks like the one to beat at this early stage in the tournament”
