YCM Grand Pokémon Tournament: Champion of Champions

Anywho, welcome to the YCM Grand Pokémon Tournament: Champion of Champions​. This will be a tournament to decide... well the champion of champions. I'm your host, British Soul and without further ado, here are the 8 GPT champions (and who originally nominated them);

The representation is 4 Hoenn, 2 Kanto, 1 Sinnoh and 1 Johto

 

This is how things will go down. The 8 entrants will be separated into two 4-man groups which will be played Round Robin style. A win will earn you 3 points, a draw 1 point and a loss, nothing. Every vote counts as the number of votes received will break tie-breakers in the group standings. After 3 matches, the top two from each group will advance to the semis. There will be a play-off for 3rd/4th, but the main event past the semis will be final to determine the Champion of Champions.

Matches will last 48 hours each

So before the matches begin later this evening, I will open the floodgates for your predictions. Who do you think will win the title of Champion of Champions?

The fluffy raccoon must win. It's what he deserves. Just his fur being animated the way it is is good enough reason.

So after the first two group matches;

- Masquerain is guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals, but the other three are still in contention.

- Meanwhile in Group B, Vaporeon is all-but out, whereas Ampharos isn't quite guaranteed a spot in the semis yet.

So the group stage is over and the four pokemon advancing to the semis are;

- Masquerain

- Zigzagoon

- Ampharos

- Torterra

 

As for the randomised pairings, the group winners face-off whilst the runners up occupy the other semi.

That is it, after 2 weeks of matches we have reached the end and found the Champion of Champions of the GPT and it is.... 

 

1st: Ampharos

...And the two other 'mons taking the podium:

2nd: Torterra

3rd: Masquerain

 

And that wraps things up for the GPT Champion of Champions tournament.
