When people like what you have to say, they press like, and your rep goes up

Regarding what Darkrai said about negs, we used to have them, but changes to the site (can't remember if it was server-wise or not) meant that negs couldn't be supported, hence why we just have likes (pos reps).

I believe that was one factor that resulted in the removal of them, but I remember it was also to do with the site changes as well.

People negging each other because they got negged themselves.

I neg you, and then you call up your friends and form a posse, then go and dish out a few dozen negs to me as retribution. There are people with significant negative rep levels on this site

Technically I could re-enable negative reps but I feel like they consistently get misused and just having positive reps works just fine.

To be fair to those members with big neg counts, some of them actually WANTED them instead of positives. One example is ~Oracle / Juuzou (older members may know him as Nazello or something). In the other cases, yeah, this was a thing (even on MyBB). Unlike the older site, if you got unfairly negged, you cannot have them removed and just have to counterbalance it with more positives. 

 

Oh right, and the FAQ is in the process of being rewritten so it's easier to understand and up to date. So yeah, description on reputation and stuff should be modified too. 

 

But anyway, I'm going to lock this before it gets spammy, considering the TC already got an answer he's satisfied with (and clarification on other stuff).
