[Striker] Cutthroat Cardmaker III

Recommended Posts

Greetings card makers, and welcome to Cutthroat Card Maker. The rules here are very simple: four of you will compete in three card making challenges. At the end of each challenge, one of you card makers will be eliminated. For each challenge, I will give you requirements for a card you will prepare. We will then have ourselves a little auction, which if you win, you can inflict some travesty onto your opponents. Though, we can't have an auction without some points; therefore, I took the liberty of securing 100,000 points for such a purpose. Each of you will receive 25,000 points to spend as you please, but be careful for if you win, you will only win the points you have remaining. So, who is willing to enter the competition?

[spoiler=Rules]

All YCM Rules apply

Deadline for entry is a week after this post, unless the spots are filled.

Points available to each person for bidding will be represented in the Auction spoiler. Winner will receive whatever points they have remaining.

Discord is recommended, though not required for the auctions. If you have Discord, note that in your entry post. If not, I advise that you do create one for this contest. If everyone agrees to use Discord, I'll create a server for auctions to take place. Otherwise, auctions will take place via Group PM

Auctions shall be held at my discretion, so be prepared to bid or accept the sabotage at any time.

Bids shall start at 500 (unless you have less than 500 points left, then whatever amount of points you have is acceptable), and will go up by any multiple of 100 (e.g. A bids 500, B bids 600, C bids 1000, etc.).

If auctions take place via Group PM, the auction will be a silent auction where each contestant bids twice with the highest bid winning (if both bids of a contestant are higher than the other bids, the lowest of the two becomes the winning bid). If auctions take place via Discord, the auction will proceed like a standard auction, adjusting for different time zones as needed.

The judge shall not know about any of the sabotages, and no contestant shall tell them anything.

Cards are due 48 hours after the initial auction is finished, but this does not mean auctions won't happen during card making process.

Cards are to be PM'd to me by the deadline.

Judging should be done within 72 hours after the deadline, assuming all goes according to plan.

I have the right to add and change rules.

[spoiler=Card Requirement]

[spoiler=Round 1]

For the first round, your task is to create a Level 4 or lower Pendulum monster. It looks so simple, but watch how that quickly changes.

[spoiler=Round 2]
This round is going to be a bit dark for some of you. Your task is to create a card that supports an archetype that primarily consists of DARK monsters.

[spoiler=Round 3]

Final 2, this should be good. Speaking of 2, that's part of your final challenge. Your final task is to create a generic Ritual Monster and a Ritual Spell. By generic, the Ritual Monster and Ritual Spell cannot support a specific archetype.

In, I have discord, but I'd like a bit more information around Auctions in this context, please.

Okay. So, the auctions will have various sabotages that you can inflict on to your opponents they can be bought each round. These range from prohibiting a certain type of effect from being used, Level/Rank/Link assignment, etc. If done on Discord, I'll open up auctions for a round (I'll try to keep the time they open consistent between rounds) and state an item up for auction (there are up to three auctions a round). Then, you can either choose to bid or not. If your bid gets topped, you can bid again. Once there are no more bids, the item is sold and can be inflicted upon your opponents (some can only affect one while others affect all of them).

Very well, PM it is. In that case, I'm going to modify the auction format into a two bid silent auction, meaning I'll group PM you the auction items then you each individually PM (not reply to the group PM) me two bids in increasing order for each item. Person with the highest bid wins (if both bids beat the other bids, then lowest of the two wins, for fairness). This is to accommodate for the timezone issue as a regular auction would take too long. Sounds good?
