First Post Seen on All Pages?

This is kinda more of a suggestion for stuff like Games and compilation topics. Basically, I think it might be a good idea to (upon request) have the original post at the top of each page so that one could easily refer to it without going back to page 1.

 

It's not the biggest change in the world and I know that MOST topics won't need it, but for those few that do, it seems like it would be really helpful.

Didn't hear much when I'd suggested it last year.  Still think it'd be something useful as a toggle-able option.

A few other examples of how this could be used:

• Poll contests (nominations): seeing the first post would allow peeps to reference it and make it less likely for peeps to post characters/things that had previously been nominated.
• RP OOC threads: the OP is usually full of details that a (potential) RPer would need/want to reference.
• Debates: a potential reminder in order to keep things on topic.
• Misc: a new level of misc potential, just by virtue of ensuring one has to see the OP when coming into the thread.

 

Again, it isn't something that every thread needs, but the ability to toggle something like this on/off at thread creation could only be beneficial imo.

Tbqh although this might be useful for polls, the scrolling up to the top of a thread unless I'm the first post is still a (minor) hassle, having to scroll back up and down and get back into my thread. For stuff such as RPs and threads, I have the page with the post/OP I am responding to in one tab, and my reply with its a preview on the second page. 

 

I don't really see much use for it; for games, you're generally responding to the last post, and have already read the rules on the first page. I guess it saves time from having to open the first page then go to the page you're responding to, but for regular players it could be annoying to scroll past it every time. For RPs, it could be useful, but I think it's just easier to have the page open in another tab.

 

An alternative is to have it appear in the "More Reply Options" editor, for those things of which you are writing a big essay for. This would be better for OOCs and Debates.
