"RP Rewards" Discussion Thread

So for the moment I've unpinned and locked the old Rewards thread

I've unpinned it because it's literally never been used and is kind of not well thought out. Plus out of date.

 

So I'd like all of your input on what you think would be more suitable and...well, if we even need a rewards thread to begin with. I don't have a lot of time right now to come up with a solid idea but if I keep waiting I'll forget to make this discussion thread so here we are.

i dont think we need one. i mean i guess a completed RP could give all members like, 5k points per page or something. but points arent a very good incentive in the first place and there isnt really anything else to give, and to be cheesy its about the journey rather than the reward. as far as incentivizing people to, aside from a simple points reward like what i suggested there really isnt a need for a reward.

Give us little pins for completed RP's like the easter eggs :3

If anything, there should be a table of contents for completed RPs, if anyone wants to read over how they formed.

I really like this idea, of doing something new with the RP rewards, because yeah, the old idea was pretty outdated.

I think all of the above are great ideas, though going off of the table of contents idea, a thread for listing completed RPs, such as an RP Hall of Fame, which I think was brought up before, with perhaps small summaries of the RPs listed, a list of the participants who played to the end, etc, would be cool.

If we did this would we include all the random completed RPs from before Advance Clause? I would have to do some digging.

Or I could just start fresh to make it easy

 

Also as to the idea Hyde had, that could be interesting, or perhaps have them for RPs that have 1000/2000 posts or something like that...

I'll echo approval of previous statements on a thread documenting successes in the forum as well as the idea of cool cosmetic thingies and propose potentially along with it a member group for peeps who've made it through the wild ride of a completed RP. This of course would be purely innocent and not a front for the secret CowCow cult.

Allow me, however briefly, to second... third... funk I lost count. Concur with this. We've made it more annoying to ghost from a RP, but if someone is no longer excited by the game, then some people would rather take the slam then stick around. This could change that. I say "could" because I can't see the future.

It seemed the most popular thing so far was the idea of giving an icon or some sort of visual reward to people who finish RPs

What kind of icon would that be? Would it be the same for everyone or custom to the RP?

Considering the degree of rarity for a roleplay to reach its end, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for unique icons for each RP that does finish.

Unique icons sound pretty cool, but we'd also have to figure out who would be making them. I know that Sakura is the one who usually makes icons or badges for site-related events, so that's an idea, but since he doesn't really RP, not sure if that would work or not. Though, thinking about it, there are Showcase people we could ask as well.
