I'm Yui, your friendly guide who likes to help new members as best I can. If you're going to stick around on the forums (which you absolutely should; we're a good community even if we don't always look like it), you should probably take a quick moment to at least glance over the forum rules. Then there's also the section rules for the Custom Cards sections (meaning Free, Casual, and Advanced) if you'll be frequenting those areas. I realize this might be a bit much to be hit with all at once given you've only just introduced yourself, but bear with me because I'm about to try and make it as simple as possible.

 

tl/dr: Don't be a dick, and if your common sense says don't do it, you probably shouldn't be doing it. You seem like a smart fella so that should be super-easy. For CC, Advanced is designed with the current meta and stuff in mind, Casual is more for fun projects, and Free is a place where anything goes.

 

Hopefully you stick around. It's always nice to see new faces round these parts, and if you end up with any questions about stuff, don't be afraid to ask one of our helpful moderators, or even just a member you see often in the section your question's about. Here's hoping to your time on YCM; be good, don't make an ass of yourself, and have fun!

Like Yui and Nyx already mentioned, just make sure you read over the rules and stuff before posting. Assuming you are going to be in CC, look at the rule thread for the area you'll be staying in. They're already linked and for the most part, the descriptions given above are accurate. 

 

If you have questions, feel free to ask a mod or veteran member in the area. Anything pertaining to Custom Cards can be forwarded to me for the most part (as I wrote the bulk of the rules and stuff).

Welcome. Don't take it the wrong way that everyone asked you to read the rules since they say that to every new member. You probably won't see much of me but none the less enjoy your stay ( :

Us telling you to read the rules does seem bland when it's said to everyone, but we would really like you to stick around for a while. As a result, it is important you know what the rules are, so you don't get warn points for infractions. Some of the mods will give you leniency for minor things if you're new; others might not. 

 

All of us were in your place back in the day, and saw what happened when rules weren't read / obeyed. 

 

 

But yeah, most of it is generally common sense stuff and you shouldn't have an issue following.
