They are different games, with different audiences and different draws. Comparing them is nothing more than dick-measuring.

 

Also, while fallout 4 is by no means a perfect game, and absolutely has some very real flaws, most of what is railed against it is just fanboys of previous installments complaining that things weren't pretty much exactly the same, and the arguments are very often self-contradictory.
