The Nyx Avatar
Keep in mind that these are annoying bosses. Not hard bosses. For a lot of annoying bosses, you can typically beat them in an attempt or two. But they manage to be annoying for one reason or another. Whether it be how tediously long the battle lasts, relying on cheap tactics in the battle, healing, battling them in a playstyle that you're not used to, or even something as simple as their dialogue or attitude. Share or discuss bosses that you've battled and found annoying and maybe tell a little as to why you found them annoying.
Delibirb
Can I say the Thugs-4-Less Leader on planet Snivelak in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando? Technically, as I recall, the boss battle itself wasn't strictly awful (though it was long and tedious, making failure a not-uncommon occurrence), but if you failed it, you respawn back at the beginning of an agonizingly long gauntlet, at a point in the game where the enemies have just scaled up, making your weapons and armor just underdeveloped enough to make the aforementioned gauntlet an infuriating multi-attempt ordeal. mitchermitcher
i'm a pleb at bullet hell games so i can easily admit cirno in EoSD is the most annoying piece of sheet i've had to deal with. something about her bullet patterns were just obnoxiously annoying when your eyes are too bad to keep track of the bullets and everything. she's ultimately pretty beatable but only if i bombed her once or twice. also plesioth in monster hunter freedom unite, that hit box is funking stupid. The Warden
Well, I suppose he's a boss in a more general sense, but the second brainwashed Joey fight in Yugioh Nightmare Troubadour because you're forced to end the duel in a draw using either Self-Destruct Button or Ring of Destruction. So you're forced to stall him out until you get them while trying not to win OR lose while also setting up the conditions for the draw.
The Nyx Avatar
When I was younger, this one used to be the most annoying I faced [spoiler=Show]Phantamanta from Super Mario Sunshine. Ever time you spray it, it halves into smaller, faster rays. And the rays knock you back and hurt you if you touch them. And they leave a trail of grime that can electrocute you. I died to this my first time, but I got the hang of it. Easy to deal with, but annoying nonetheless. My suggestion is to spray atop the trees. I don't remember them reaching you there But the most annoying one I have faced to this day: [spoiler=Show]The Ruler of the Sky Has a specific hitbox, can still fire projectiles to you at a distance, and flies away from you. It is the most tedious boss battle in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Just a waste of time. Hell, Leechgrave didn't eat my time as much is this bastard. Even though Leechgrave can eat and spit you out with black tentacles, at least it doesn't fly away from you. And he has a big hitbox. So yeah. That's the most annoying boss I've ever faced. That could work.Any bosses with self-healing and minion spawning is annoying afOne in particular you can name that you've faced?Well, I suppose he's a boss in a more general sense, but the second brainwashed Joey fight in Yugioh Nightmare Troubadour because you're forced to end the duel in a draw using either Self-Destruct Button or Ring of Destruction. Manawyddan fab Llyr If you farmed enough for cards against other duelists or used cheat codes, he's not that hard. But damn, is he funking cheap. He has Dark Hole or Raigeki in his Deck. Dark Hole which sneds every other card on the field to the Graveyard. Raigeki which destroys anything in its path. But worst of all: Riryoku. In which he steals HALF your Life Points from you. Thar
One in particular you can name that you've faced? I think the best example would be the final phase of the final boss of Rayman 3. At certain points he lands and spawns minions to rush up and heal him while you go around trying to destroy them before they reach him. If you're not efficient with your shots, then the battle tends to drag on and it's a lot more annoying than it is challenging.
The Warden
Okay, I have another one from Nightmare Troubadour. And while she's not a boss, she contains every obnoxious aspect listed in the OP. I present to you all: Rebecca. funking. Hawkins. This little she-devil is armed with the deck from hell, sporting massive healing, dirty stall tactics (Gravity Bind and Level Limit Area-B), Scapegoat spam, and burn. And this is during a time when MST is still only at one, and the available cards only go up to barely into The Lost Millennium. You basically have to build a a deck specifically designed to counter hers, because the little slut can and will almost always draw into Gravity Bind or Level Limit Area-B and stall you until the end of time while taking cheap pot shots at you. And by the time you can start dueling her your only possible out to her deck will be Royal Decree because you won't have Jinzo or MST available to get yet, and even then you can still be outed by Level Limit Area-B if you don't have any low level monsters to fight with. funk this little jabroni and her cheap bullshit funking deck. Oh, and when you lose to the little jabroni she says "It's okay to believe in the heart of the cards, but you need strong cards too." Even though the little jabroni uses a deck so dirty is makes Mr. Clean faint.
