Memelantern
2 "Crystal Beast" monstersThis card can be Xyz summoned using "Crystal Beast" monsters of any level that are face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone as Xyz Material in addition to normal Xyz Material. When this card is Xyz Summoned: you can target up to 2 "Crystal Beast" monsters in your deck; place them face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as Continuous Spells.Once per turn, when this card would be destroyed, you can send one "Crystal Beast" monster that is face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell to the GY instead. When this card is destroyed, you can place it face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell.Once per turn, you can detach one Xyz Material from this card to activate one of the following effects:•Target one "Crystal Beast" monster in your GY; place it face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell.•Target one "Crystal Beast" monster that is face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone; Special Summon it. I initially imagined this as a Link Monster, which is where I got the idea for the more generic summoning conditions. However, the card maker doesn't have a built in Link template, so I went with this. I had specific goals in mind for this card. •It needed to speed up Crystal Beasts to keep up with the state of the game.•It needed to be able to maintain the resources Crystal Beasts use.•It needed to utilize these resources in a meaningful way.•It needed to have ongoing support in gaining advantage.•It needed to have a big enough body that it actually threatens people, and isn't easily run over.•I wanted it to have some protection as well. It does all of this, with a very easy summoning condition. I do believe that if this was generic, or just in a stronger archetype, this card would be broken. However, because it's a Crystal Beast monster, and requires the Crystal Beasts to even be used at all, it's sufficiently balanced. It makes Crystal Beasts a lot quicker and more consistent, but they're still not as strong as most meta decks currently. Easily outed by Master Peace, Pendulum Magicians, Invoked Mechaba, and more. Most playable decks have easy outs to this. So while it is good support, it isn't a boss monster or something that can win games on its own. Notably I didn't give it disruption, as I felt that would be too many tools for one card to have. There are some ways this card can cause a blowout; it can set up a 1 turn Crystal Abundance. It can easily bring out 2 Crystal Beast monsters the turn it is summoned by placing Carbuncle as one of them and then special summoning it; these can be used as material for more summons. I think this card would be a blast to play with, enabling Crystal Beasts to be quick and consistent and extend plays, without it being overpowered. redman30
i like this card it actualy make those contunuous spell-monsters useful when they are in the spell/trap zone indeed it's a great support with its ability to search in your deck for monster and event be able to summon one of them directly with its other effect (it's a shame that their are so weak on their own) however i think even in this archetype its summoning conditions are a bit to easy : i can think of situations like this :you manage to summon it turn 1 then with its effect you place 2 beast as continuous spellsthen summon another "wyvern" and place 2 beasts as continuous spellsand summon another wyvern to place 2 other beasts as continuous spells and maybe continue you shenanigans with the combined effect of the 3 "wyvern" (summon crystal beasts you've send to the GY etc) basicaly turn 1 you'll have 3 2500/2000 monsters that can summon your beast from the GY and can survive a destruction and on top of that you search 6 card from your deck (with the possibility to use them however you want) i wouln't say it's op since with the game as it is you wouldn't have much follow ups for this but still it's a strong engine for the crystal beaststhat's why it think it may be a bit to easy to summon but for everything else it's a good card PS: i'd love to see a xyz that can use crystal beasts that are continuous spells as removals for spells/traps or monsters or even one that can negate effects etc but they would have to be more defficult to summon than just 2 beasts in order to stay balanced i love crystal beast but they have always been weak maybe a 2nd generation could be cool
