Russia, the U.S.A., and the White House Administration

Mueller referred other cases that are still ongoing.

Mueller also just released a letter criticizing Barr for failing to "fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of his report. As that article also highlights, Trump's coordination with Russians was highly inappropriate. So the question was not answered with a "No." There is evidence, but not enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, because there was a higher burden to meet.

https://www.vox.com/2019/4/18/18484965/mueller-report-trump-no-collusion

I don't see why you ask for your proof if you'll preemptively disqualify it. So how about Trump immediately following up that request by directing Mike Flynn to find those same emails? How about arranging meetings with Russians for the express purpose of getting dirt on Clinton? And that's just the first few examples the article covers.

You and Winter are stuck on the taxes, when that has not been the primary focus of my arguments. You say it's irrelevant to the topic of Russia, and I agree. It's why I've been talking about subpoenas that have absolutely nothing to do with his taxes, and everything to do with the Russian investigation.

Much of the evidence that directly relates to conspiracy (Which is the appropriate term to use, not "collusion") is currently redacted. William Barr warranting so much backlash from countless people, including Mueller himself, seems to confirm that Barr is indeed acting as Trump's defense attorney rather than the attorney general. It is plainly clear that Barr has failed in his duties, because he has shown that he will mislead the public, and now we know for a fact that he committed perjury. As Trump and Barr continue to tread on contempt of Congress, then regardless of whatever conclusions Congress reaches regarding the evidence, Trump and Barr have just committed even more crimes.

I look forward to Barr's impeachment.

Barr wrote a predetermined narrative claiming that Trump was innocent of obstruction, and didn't even looking at the underlying evidence. He refused to look at the evidence, then made his decision that Trump was innocent anyway. Feinstein also asked him point-blank about Trump asking his staff to lie, and Barr claimed it's not a crime, even though suborning perjury is in fact a lie. Then again, Barr was called out for lying to Congress, so it makes sense that he would defend the crime that he has committed.

Nadler has given Barr an ultimatum to hand over underlying evidence by Monday, or Barr will be officially held in contempt of Congress. After Barr's no-show yesterday, I'd say that Nadler is being fairly generous. We need to get rid of Barr, who is only serving as a Trump sycophant, and is really just hoarding the position of Attorney General instead of allowing someone genuinely responsible to handle it.

And there we go. A vote will be held on Wednesday to recommend the House holds Barr in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena. I realize that the Trump camp loves to claim "It's perfectly legal for him to do that" whenever Trump or Barr commit a crime, but that shows a complete failure to understand what a subpoena is explicitly designed to do.

The House Judiciary Committee has voted to move to the full House to hold Barr in contempt. The Democrats do have the votes, so it's guaranteed that the contempt charge will be made. Trump has attempted to declare executive privilege to protect himself, but he has previously waived that executive privilege, so an amendment within the motion for contempt will address that.

And now the Senate Intelligence Committee has issue a subpoena toward Trump Jr. to answer more questions into this investigation.

Judge Emmet Sullivan has ordered the redactions in the Mueller report regarding Mike Flynn to be made public, along with the release of transcripts of a voicemail and Flynn's communications with Russian officials, as people linked to Trump and Congress tried to obstruct the probe. Though this isn't the first time we've heard about witness tampering in this investigation, so it's not too surprising.

Like Barr before him, looks like Don McGahn is next in line for an upcoming contempt vote after his no-show, following Trump's latest offense of committing obstruction of justice by directing McGahn to ignore a subpoena, in direct violation of federal law.

Thankfully the House seems to be addressing the risk of how this could have been dragged out. They are looking to give committees the power to enforce contempt citations, and go directly to the courts. Despite the GOP clutching their pearls, and repeating multiple times that "You're asking the Attorney General to break the law!", even though that's not at all what's happening, it seems their bad faith arguments can finally be laid to rest, because the resolution will direct the House to petition the courts for grand jury information.

The most that the DOJ has tried to supposedly "negotiate" on this was a weak offer to give a select group within the House access to some redacted information, but on the condition that they could not share any of that information. Nadler had rightfully asked "What good is that?", so this could give the House as much information as possible to make a properly informed decision, regardless of how many Republicans continue to act as the Cult of Trump.

The DOJ can keep trying to obstruct this investigation, but they're still losing this fight. At most, Democrats do need to act sooner, but they've been making good progress towards keeping this going.

Here is a live reading of the Mueller report, which should hopefully be more convenient for those unwilling to so much as look at the statements confirming that Trump committed obstruction of justice. Remember that over a thousand lawyers have already agreed that the DOJ policy against indicting a sitting president is the only reason he wasn't charged.

Mueller has agreed to testify before Congress on July 17. It took a long time getting here, but this will be worth it.

Seems like people already forgot the events from the long lost epoch of last month when Matt Gaetz publicly committed witness intimidation. And that was in direct response to this investigation, when he threatened Michael Cohen.

But no, let's please continue to pretend that the GOP is perfectly innocent and absolutely none of them attempted to obstruct justice, because any and all crimes actually occurred before meeting Trump, and not once happened as a result of this investigation. Just make a shallow argument that the Democrats hate Trump just because he's Trump, refuse to consider any possible explanation such as how what Trump and accomplices have done is wrong, and ignore when Republicans commit crimes to protect Trump in full view of the entire world.

Following up on this, the House Ethics Committee is investigating whether Matt Gaetz committed witness intimidation against Michel Cohen. He is also still under investigation by the Florida Bar for the same comment.

SDNY wrapping up, no new charges expected. Roxas hit hardest

Not sure how this "hits" me.

The article mentions that there's no indication it has been formally closed, though new information could potentially revive the inquiry, and there is still another ongoing investigation regarding his inauguration committee, which may or may not have a connection to this investigation. Harry Sandick cautioned against declaring the case closed too soon.

Let's talk about impeachment. The site has been down for a while, and there's been more developments than I care to remember, but I'll try to catch up wherever I can.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry-live-updates/2019/10/03/5f81ec5a-e55c-11e9-a6e8-8759c5c7f608_story.html

Trump has called for Ukraine and China to investigate Biden. This is most pertinent to this thread, considering how Trump supporters were in complete denial that Trump asked Russia for help, demanding evidence that he did so, and when it was brought up that Trump purposefully invited Russia to hack Clinton, that was dismissed as a conspiracy. In this case, we once again have Trump asking foreign powers to investigate his political rivals, and with him on the record twice, it's enough for Pelosi to finally get on board with impeachment.

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/gop-leader-struggles-reality-again-trying-defend-trump

Kevin McCarthy, who famously said that he believes Putin pays Trump and Rohrabacher, argued in bad faith by falsely claiming that Scott Pelley added a word into a memo released by the White House itself. The GOP has to outright lie about what Trump actually said, because acknowledging that Trump was sincere when he asked for this foreign aid completely undermines how the GOP has been trying to defend him. So, it's no surprise that McCarthy was repeating White House talking points that were accidentally leaked to Democrats. It should also be clear that the false claim that Trump and McCarthy spread about whistleblower rules being changed was proven to be a lie spread by The Federalist. Interestingly, it also turns out that McCarthy was getting paid by two of Rudy Giuliani's friends who were just arrested for violating campaign laws. SDNY is continuing its investigation into Trump's personal lawyer's buddies.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/11/politics/trump-mazars-appeal-decision/index.html

In the meantime, stemming from Cyrus Vance Jr.'s subpoena to the Trump organization, it was ruled that Mazars USA had to turn over the last eight years of Trump's tax returns. He attempted to appeal that ruling, but lost with a 2-1 vote. The sole dissenting vote came from Trump appointee Neomi Rao.

Now, you may be wondering why I'm focusing so much on Trump's connection to Ukraine, when there is totally a connection between Hillary Clinton and Ukraine that must also be investigated. Well, it turns out that DOJ prosecutors have declared that this talking point, mostly peddled by Devin Nunes - who is suing a satirical cow that hurt his feelings - is officially a conspiracy theory.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/judge-orders-doj-to-reveal-some-info-in-impeachment-battle-over-mueller-grand-jury-material

And finally, the Justice Department has been ordered to release grand jury material.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/10/taylors-testimony-confirms-ukraine-quid-pro-quo/600520/

Following Mick Mulvaney confirming that quid pro quos occur all the time, Bill Taylor reiterates that the Trump administration was withholding military aid in exchange for getting an investigation into the Bidens. Taylor also establishes a timeline exclusive to the Trump administration, undermining the claims that there was no quid pro quo, or that this was all just some holdovers from Obama.

We know that Trump committed a crime. We have everything we need to prove that he deserves to be impeached. It's just that the GOP demand evidence, then reject the evidence the moment is presented. It's hard to believe that they actually care about whether they get the evidence. It seems more like they're asking for what they hope will be an impossible task, only for this inquiry to uncover the evidence regardless. I imagine it must be difficult for the GOP to actually recognize that we have the exact evidence that they asked for.
