[spoiler=Related to the leak]

 

Even if this leak turns out to be fake, it's been great to have some hype and things to look at during the dry period finally.

 

 

Also the Youtube Comments are funking great.

 

And so the Grinch, with smartphone in hand, 
sought to leak everything Sakurai planned. 
He leaked the newcomers, the echos and more 
He snapchatted away, like never before! 
And when the full roster had surfaced online, 
the internet would surely rage in no time! 
The Grinch creeped on to his second, hidden Twitter, 
eagerly awaiting the spoiled and bitter. 
He waited and waited, but they never came. 
Instead, came the cheers! "Banjo's in the game!" 
It was then at that moment, the Grinch had a thought. 
What if the Smash hype train just couldn't be fought? 
He leaked to them Shadow, Geno, and Ken! 
He leaked Chorus Kids, and he'd do it again! 
What could it be that kept excitement climbing? 
Maybe, just maybe, that the Grinch was just blinded? 
He hated the hype, so very deeply. 
The shouting, the begging, the unending theories. 
He never considered the joy that it gave them 
Only ever considering the annoyance it gave him. 
As his heart was warmed bringing such hype, so they say 
The Grinch was sued for $75,000,000 later that day.

PapaGenos, a fairly respectable leak Youtuber also uploaded a video today, saying he had been contacted by someone in regards to the leak, so that might be worth a watch.

Made his face Sonic-blue;

As Mario screamed,

"Yeehaw, yippee, WAHOO!!";

Then Banjo Kazooie got up to run,

From Mach Rider, zooming and drawing her gun!;

Geno leapt high,

"I'M IN!!" he would shout;

"I'm not ready to die!",

And Isaac was out;

The Grinch turned his fury,

On the Kids of the Chorus;

As already Ken,

laid beaten before us;

"You see," said the Grinch,

"These trophies are mine;

And on all your Spirits,

I gladly will dine!";

His heart cold as winter,

His percentage on zero;

He continued his quest,

To K-O every hero!;

His last Destination,

Rose on the horizon;

The pressure turned up,

The temperature rising!;

A Hand floated out,

From the blackness of space;

The Grinch stood firm,

A sick grin on his face;

"Oh what a good time,

I'm ready to Smash!";

The Grinch did declare,

Turning Hand into ash;

"Forget Christmas time,

This Smashing is fun!";

Yelled the Grinch,

As he set his eyes on the sun;

With K-O'd fighters on his left and his right,

The Grinch kept smashing, laughing into the night;

And the best memory,

The Grinch strongly felt;

Was when he took on K. Rool,

Wearing Donkey Kong's pelt;

[spoiler=New Information, Leak Related]

 

So today Nintendo announced a partnership with Wendy's to bring the demo to more tailgate stuff. Sports talk.

 

With this, they posted a video of people playing the game, along with tiny clips of gameplay. Pretty boring...Except a new item was shown that we haven't seen before.

 

That's a blurry look, here's a clearer one. For anyone who doesn't recognize that, that's the Icon for the Growth Psynergy from Golden Sun Dark Dawn, I believe it is?

 

Link to the Icon That could be a link to Isaac being in the game, which gives more credibility to the Grinch Stealing Christmas potentially.

 

Here's the Smash Item Overlaid on top of it. Got my links mixed up.

 

It could be they just added a Golden Sun Item, but considering Isaac as an assist got removed from 4, it would be weird to me to add an item and then not have him in the game in some form, plus with the leak...

I honestly am not sure how to feel about Piranha Plant. Like, it is a VERY Sakurai character. But of all the characters to rep the Mario franchise it is a very strange choice.

 

Yea, lots of potential characters got killed off with this. From my personal list of wants Dixie is a spirit, Ray, Rex+Pyra, Ribbon Girl are costumes with Springman being an AT, and Incineroar basically kills off Decidueye. That just leaves Mipha and Banjo. Mipha is at least one of my top asks so that dream still lives at least.

 

Sad to hear we aren't getting trophies. Think I prefer them to spirits, but that is with a huge familiarity bias. The spirits stuff seemed neat, but kind of eh until we got the final trailer at the end which shows the full extent of the mode. I really do enjoy how Kirby is the one that lives. Sakurai playing favorites is fine by me.

 

Hopefully with All Star still around in some form it seems so I'm hopeful Classic is too.

 

Also, looks like 5 DLC characters which is a respectable amount. Like that they are working on them all post launch. I know some people hate DLC that is worked on before the game is even out.

I'm not to concerned about there not being any trophies tbph, but I do like the idea of spirits as it adds a more personalised experience to your fighters.

As for Mii costumes, I like that they added Ribbon Girl as a costume as least you can play as an Arms character in spirit.

I am sad that Shadow is still an assist trophy, yet Tails and Knuckles are spirits.

Kirby being the one who lives for adventure mode is interesting. I remember in the Subspace Emissary, Kirby survived the Off Waves thing by swallowing King Dedede's pin badges

[spoiler=Thoughts]I rather like the Spirits. I can understand being upset about not getting Trophies, but they seem to be compensating by a significant degree to make up for it, so it seems like we're trading out Trophies for a mechanic that enhances the game in the long run. I'm especially happy that Owain and Severa got in, so I hope that means they have Inigo to complete the trio. Piplup and Poochy are also just purely adorable, so a lot of my excitement for the Spirits comes from those characters.

 

I was utterly baffled by Piranha Plant at first, but actually seeing how he works, and I kind of love the concept precisely because of how absurd it is. I might actually want to play that.

[spoiler=spoiler]In the cutscene I liked the touch of the Pits losing their flight once Palutena got got, and Snake hiding in his box was funny.

 

I also can't wait to fight Galleom again.

 

Anyways, I didn't see Heihachi or Bandana Dee among the Spirits, did anyone else? I'm still hoping for them as DLC.

Okay, seriously, THIS should've been Incineroar's Shiny coloration (though maybe with the flames being white instead of normal).

 

 

On a related sidenote, I am a bit sad that Jeanne's appearance as a Spirit negates the possibility of her being Bayo's Echo Fighter, but we'll see if the 5 DLC fighters coming out later will make up for it.

I saw someone comment and say they are stickers + trophies. In reality they are just stickers though. Still, we should get a ton of them since they are easily to make than trophies.

 

Not gonna lie, Plant looks cool.

Sakurai has an insane attention to detail. I caught both of those and smiled.

 

Thinking about it, I don't think Spirits are going to affect DLC. They are going to have WAY to many and if DLC for 4 could be trophies don't see why the same wouldn't apply to spirits. Especially if the DLC isn't going to play into the story/adventure mode.
