Flame Dragon
If I were to highlight one spoiled card, it would be this one Yep, thats a rare.
Poc
If I were to highlight one spoiled card, it would be this one Yep, thats a rare. The madmen finally did it. The reprint king is dead! All hail the reprint King, Oubliette! Also, this means I can actually finish my legacy deck without bankrupting myself. Flame Dragon
So, we are half way into the spoiler week. How is everyone feeling about the set? While the set has some dud mythic and rare picks that is to be expected. Over all though the set has some amazing choices and is a great look at the highlights of Magic's past. My biggest concern is that everything seems to be rather high-variance so far: many of the cards not on the list above are bulk; and while a lot of them seem tailored for the EDH crowd, whatever value they hold now is sheerly due to low supply and will plummet due to the reprint. (See: Living Death, Magus of the Wheel, Eladamri's Call, Mikokoro.) Looks promising, though. I don't plan on buying any more sealed product than my customary "one pack per set," but I'll likely stock up on singles.

Thanks for that. And yea, the variance is pretty high for chase and bulk. Stuff exists in between, but as you said they are going to plummet since the price is driven by scarcity. Like I had no idea Master of the Wild Hunt was a $10 card. That being said I can't complain too much about these since they were all in need of reprints at some point. Poc
The last artifact slot is revealed as Coalition relic. A nice reprint but it should of been EE or crucible. Both are in desperate need of a reprint. EE especially considering every modern deck is playing it now. Also, Why the funk is Tree of Redemption the Innistrad Mythic? Talk about a feel bad card in limited. Craterhoof should of been the last green mythic.

Talk about a feel bad card in limited. Craterhoof should of been the last green mythic. I small dumb part of me hopes Crucible gets reprinted in standard. I could be WAY off base, but unless we have a format where getting lands in the graveyard is easy (so not with fetches) it shouldn't do much of anything. Don't get me wrong, all the Masters sets have had dud mythics, but Tree is pretty bad. IMO it kind of show cases one of the issues of having 3 Master sets over 365 days, you run into each other with printings so some good choices were reprinted super recently. That being said a lot of cards would have made a better choice than the tree.
Poc
The last black rare revealed as plague wind. WoTC what are you doing with these choices? These cards are not even playable in limited let alone justify a 10$ booster pack. There are way more iconic black cards that could of been in place of plague wind that wouldn't destroy the EV of the set. (Same applies for meme tree). Which brings me to my next point, Why are these packs still 10$? MMA1 was a 7$ MSRP and had way, way, way higher EV than any of the other master sets. There's still a case of IMA rotting away at my LGS because no body wants to gamble 10$ on a bunch of bulk garbage. It gets even worse trying to make an excuse for the "mythic lottery' when stuff like Tree of redemption is in one of the mythic slots.
