-Short RP- [Interest Check] Warhammer 40000: The Lost and the Damned

I thought I'd try something new....

Several times during various RP related discussions the idea of a "Short" RP has been brought up, but until now I don't think anyone has really attempted to run a roleplay that is designed to run fast and end quickly. So I figured "what the hell, I'll give it a test run for the section." And considering the subject matter, Hell is definitely the word.

[spoiler=Teaser]In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

It is the final year of the 9th century of the 41st millennium: 899, M41. War rages across the galaxy as the Imperium of man struggles against its many enemies, held together only by ruthless authority and an unshakable faith in the divine power of the Emperor of mankind, who has sat interred upon the Golden Throne in a state of perpetual near-death for almost 10000 years. Besieged by ruthless alien races from without, and subverted from within by nefarious cults, biological infestations, and its own oppressive government, the Imperium may very well be on the brink of collapse. Yet still, mankind fights on....

The idyllic planet Cerava, like many worlds on the Imperium's fringes, has become a battleground. Originally occupied by the pragmatic, technologically advanced Tau, an ongoing invasion by the capricious, mysterious Eldar paved the way for an Imperium strike force to enter orbit and make its own bid for the world. Drawn to the slaughter, an Ork Waaagh! has also become a contender for the planet, and to make matters worse a warp storm, bringing with it the mad legions of the chaos gods, has appeared in the system. As the five forces struggled, however, an even greater menace set its sights on Cerava: the Tyranids.

Bent on consuming all biological life, the Tyranid hive mind in control of hive fleet Gorgon decided to make Cerava its next feeding ground, and the vast numbers of the tyranid swarms quickly and decisively overwhelmed the planet, blocking all escape and using their immense psychic potential to prevent their prey from using warp travel to leave the system.

The fall of Cerava is assured, but those who managed to live through the initial waves may yet find salvation. The webway: the Eldar's own extra-dimensional highway used to travel  between various points in the material universe, remains open on Cerava, offering a slim chance of escape for anyone left alive on the planet, assuming they can reach the last standing gate, deep behind the crumbling eldar lines.

Be you Human, Tau, Ork, or Eldar, there is only one way out: through the incalculable hordes of the tyranids. That is, if your other surviving enemies don't have the same idea. Will you work together, or will your hatreds drive you on alone?

Can you survive?

[spoiler=The Premise]Pretty self explanatory. A survival horror scenario set in the Warhammer 40k universe. Players can be from any of the five forces originally warring over Cerava (consisting of Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Craftworld Eldar, Tau, Orks, Chaos Space Marines, and Cultists, for those of you 40k buffs who want specific factions), and the main goal of the story is to see whether or not anyone can fight their way through the tyranids to the Eldar Webay. As this is 40k where everything is super grim and most factions hate one another, working together is entirely optional, and in all likelihood the survivors will be as big a threat to one another as the tyranids they're trying to evade.

Though 40k is a big established universe with loads of lore, you need not know anything about it to participate. I'll be here to give everyone a primer on the relevant factions and events, and in the interest of the RP's health I'll also be playing pretty fast and loose with 40k's canon. So long as you're ok with ultraviolence, and the very likely possibility of every player character dying horribly, everyone is welcome to join. As stated above, the RP is intended to be short, and will not continue passed the endpoint of escape (if anyone makes it that far). Not sure if it will pan out, but here's hoping.
