Spell/Field

All “Mekk-Knight” monsters on the field gan 300 ATK/DEF. Once per turn, you can discard 1 “Mekk-Knight” monster or 1 “World Legacy” card; draw 1 card. You can banish 8 “Mekk-Knight” monsters with different names from your GY and/or face-up from your field; send your opponent’s entire hand and Extra Deck to the GY.

Yeah, for the first time since November 2006 (Justi-Break in CDIP), the sneak peek promo isn't a world premiere. I thought it was at first, but then realised moments later it was in the core set in Japan. It's interesting that Konami have done this, but also a tad baffling as well, discuss?

Let's assume KoA ran out of ideas for a World Premiere, or they're trying to cut down the amount of cards that have to be ported between regions in release (idk, ask them what the reasoning is behind this). But Jack Knights -> Mekk-Knights like the TCG lore of Beckoned mentions (now ask why Krawlers broke the pattern), so...

For the card itself, I guess the draw power is nice and provides banish fodder for Yellow Bloom / Crimson Lotus, but I haven't really used it during testing (well, likely due to not drawing it and/or YGOPro still sucking). IDK about last effect though; has anyone actually managed to get all of their members out and pull it off?

We're still getting the 10 exclusives/10 imports, guess they're simply changing things up this time round or perhaps this'll be the norm going forward, we don't know at this moment in time.

K so in testing Mekk-Knights I have been playing 3 of this and 3 Terraforming as deckthin and let me tell you it's not a good idea cos you'll activate a Scars, use its effect and I swear two thirds of the time draw into another copy of this or a Terra. And at that point if you activate the second copy to get another try at its effect you're going heavy minus.

Basically it's a good card to have up because the ATK/DEF buff is really nice and being able to turn searches from the Level 5 one into higher quality advantage is really nice, but it's such an awful card to have multiples of. Having Chicken Game back at 1 would really help in this case. Alternatively a Field Spell that can add something to fill up zones could allow you to run fewer Scars without the Triple Terraforming being dead. Union Hanger could fill this role since Mekk-Knights do not need the Normal Summon by any means. It'd also give the deck something to do going first.

Hmm... Thanks for triggering my thought processes ~BS~. Time to try building Mabckk-Knights

EDIT: Oh and don't even bother with the last effect. It requires that you run at least 1 of each Mekk-Knight and the Level 6 ones are pure ass

EDIT2: yeah just tried and it's really hard to find the deck space. ABC aren't exactly engine sized. I'm not going down this road

OCG killed exclusives, I don't see why TCG shouldn't

I think it's fine to get at least that consolation prize.  =(

OCG exclusives always took longer than TCG exclusives to cross seas (still waiting for Lovecraft's rest of the set). TCG is always lagging 3 months, both in releases and announcements, so I know a card is gonna come out 5 months in advance, and when it does come, I long forgot it even existed. As a side-effect, this gives Konami a test run to know what to rarity bump for TCG.

Ideally, all these things would get fixed to both sides getting access to all cards from the same release dates, eliminating exclusives, only keeping maybe the separate lists....

You guys get your own banlist. That's the consolation prize

getting a different banlist is a pretty sheet consolation prize. It's not like the TCG lists are actually better than the OCG lists or anything. I think everywhere thoughout the world should get product at the same time, have the same rules and the same banlist.

I'm assuming you mean Kazuki Takahashi, right?

And it's whatever really. My preference would be for the whole world to have the same format, but I don't really mind. Since we in the TCG do get things a few months later, having some world premiere cards is nice. After all, the OCG gets loads of world premiere cards every set as the normal set contents.

Ah well funk the US version of yugioh. In the US you can D.D. Crow a Burning Abyss monster that was sent to the GY as cost and it won't trigger. Worst version of the rules I've seen.

Along with other rulings throughout history, such as priority when BLS was best boss, the Sangan ruling when Xyzs and Tour Guide were new, and I don't remember what else xD

To be a little on topic with my post,  I'm a bit disappointed that the sneak card is archetype specific. Pendulum vanillas supported vanillas in general, and cards like Hallo Hallo were fun, flavorful, and generic enough (even if casual). This card seems like return to the times of Noble Knights.....

Well, at least World Legacy's archetype goes across 7 other archetypes like Zefra used to, so maybe near the end of VRAINS era we'll have a solid engine with the draw effect or something.

The banish effect is super nasty though. I feel it for whoever gets that done to them.

IIRC I suggested this to you in a status, but how about Mausoleum of Emperor as the other Field Spell option? Lets you Normal Summon a Knight, or World Armor if you tech it to search a World Legacy card. I have not done any test with Knights, though.
